I am really enjoying this class so…
I am really enjoying this class so far, they clear and easy to understand,so far so good.
Great support, great lessons.
Went through Groupon for this class, and the link they provided originally was no good. A week later after verifying my purchase, they gave me a link that did work.
The lessons so far have been very informative. However, I only got to module 2. The test to pass to allow me to module 3 doesn't work, as bogus as the first link they gave me. I've sent two messages about this to Support email, but they are yet to answer. This was a week ago. The support info says they will get ahold of me at their next business day, but it's been a week.
I also ordered the book for my class, a month ago... Still haven't seen it.
Update - they have corrected the test problem so I'm trucking along again, and they are trying to get the support link I used fixed because it obviously failed them. They also confirmed my book was in the mail. It came today, but the book was for the wrong course. If they make this good, I'll upgrade the rating to 4 stars.
Update #2 - these folk really jumped through hoops to make everything ok. I'm totally satisfied even though the rocky start.
Mostly positive
Mostly positive! It was a little difficult to find out how to find the course required, but then it was rather easy to follow along. The explanations and description was easy to understand, and I learned the basis for a YA story pretty well. The one critique I have is that it doesn't tell the viewer that it's okay to diverge from the usual expectations of a story. I think that it's okay to help kids, but I'm not wanting to write a story for kids under 13 because my characters are around 12; I think that it'd be nice to be informed that it's okay to write something a little different, if you want to.
TLDR: great information, just feels a little restrictive with your story.
Unfortunately a course on how to write horror, but great customer service
Okay, long story short, I had originally written a scathing review of this course, as I purchased the "Writing Fiction Course" and it turned out to be "How to Write Horror Course". While that is still true, when I requested a refund for the expensive book I bought for the course that had already shipped, they refunded the book without hesitation and are letting me keep it when it arrives. They apologized profusely and said that the course was written originally for horror, and was modified for all fiction. While I believe it is still a 80% horror course, I am very impressed with their customer service. Obviously they hadn't meant to be misleading in saying it was for any kind of fiction, when it is mostly for horror. So, if you are okay with horror or want to write horror, I'm sure their are still some things to be cleaned from this course.
Poetry Course
I bought this course for my Grade 11 Grand-daughter as she writes poetry - she loves the course. She is taking her time and that also suits her,
The guidance is brilliant.
Fantastic primers in Writing across genres
I've taken several of the writing courses, including Romance and Young Adult, and have quite enjoyed them. I've recently purchased the Fiction, Children, and Poetry courses as well because these courses are well-organized, informative, and excellent practice for entry-level writers and those seeking to expand outside of one genre.
It’s crazy !!
It’s crazy !!! The security is very problematic ! They don’t want to let enter our Italian friends ! They are racist !! Never go in this place !!! And they don’t want to listen you when you try to explain us ! It’s crazy .
Helpful course!
I very much enjoyed this course. It gave me a lot of ideas on how to proceed with my writing. I did find a few issues with links not working correctly, which was a minor annoyance.
Something for everyone.
This is the second course I have completed with Write Academy. Write story books for children and Write adult fiction.
The courses are fantastic, a complete package that will take you from novice to expert. There is a wide range of genres to choose from too, so something for everyone, or like me you can just move from course to course honing your skill.
I've always thought I had the ability to tell great stories and now I think I have the skill set to bring them to life in written form as well.
There is also access to a community of writers both past and present as well as great support from the team at Write Academy.

I have found this course extremely instructive. Although your own writing isn't critiqued, the modules are very well laid out and give lots of information. Module 15 is brilliant on revising your first draft, and even though I haven't completed my first draft yet it is really useful for pulling your ideas together. I haven't read Module 16 yet, as I want to wait until I have done my first revision.
Write for Children Course
I took the Write for Children course and thoroughly enjoyed it. I referred back to the notes while working on different children’s book ideas I had. Also, the quizzes were short but kept me focused. I appreciated the information on publishing at the end. I also liked how you could work at your own pace. I tried to do pace my self at one chapter a day, but some chapters I split up to really soak in what I was learning. All in all, I’d recommend!
Beginners Class
This class is exactly what beginner writers need. It covers the basic of how to write, and goes over what it takes to be a writer. Thoroughly enjoyed the last couple chapters on how to get your information out there and caution about scammers etc.
There are definitely a few horror type pieces that I personally could have gone without, but since it covers a little of everything that was in there as well. The questions at the ends of those ones were easy enough that I passed without having to get to mixed into the gore.
Informative and wide ranging course
Informative and wide ranging course. Not only did it cover the basics of writing for children but also how to publish and market your work.
There was no time pressure at all. Even within a module, you can logout and resume where you left off, when you log back in.

Amazing course and tools to help with starting out in writing and also if you just want to tweak your writing style if you have written a lot in your career.
I have really enjoyed this course and recommend to anyone who wants to learn more.
Covers the whole range
I've just completed the Write Storybooks for Children course and found it a worthwhile experience. It covered the whole range of writing for children and mainly looked at it from the angle of what would sell well or interest the reader. This was helpful. I also appreciated the fact that there was no time limit on completing the course as I have had to pause a couple of times during the course.
Would definitely recommend!
A really helpful,up to date and in-depth course, with options for further help if needed.Would recommend.I have actually signed up for another one.
