Just a bad plugin and experience ( WooFood )

I also received an email today that my license that I bought for 499 USD was literally poofed out of thin air today, because WPSlash is changing ownership. I searched google if I could find what's going on. First thing I found was the other clients review ant that pretty much sums my situation up.
2024-04-18 I sent my first support request because the plugin and theme literally were broken. I am ignored for 7 days. 2024-04-22 I post on envato comments for request of support. Within 1 hour the owner replies "You will a reply within the next few minutes". I give him a chance. Of course the only thing he does is report my comment as now "inappropriate" to envato because "he is fixing it". 2024-06-02 the issues are still unresolved. Support replies: "You can send me temporary admin access". One hour later I send them admin access. 7 days later I am messaging the support "Hello, how are you? Any news on this?". 12 days later the support responds "Can you please send me more information?". Within 1 hour I provide all info. The last ever reply I received was "Thanks for sending all the info .
I will be able to check them all tomorrow morning as I am out of office on weekends". WPSlash never replied to my emails, never fixed their broken plugin.
They just keep sending their apparently "🔥 Just $499 for WooFood Unlimited (was $4999) – Ends in 24 Hours!" deals. Yeah guess what this is from 2025-06-21, guess what I get sent not fourth months later. 2025-10-17 Unlimited License: Now $4,999 (was $499) This is your last chance to secure lifetime updates at the old pricing before the new version launches next week.
Honestly just dishonest practices, mediocre code and non existent support. If you feel like putting your restaurants lifeline into these peoples hands... feel free to?

Thank you for sharing your experience. We understand how frustrating this situation has been and appreciate you taking the time to outline your concerns.
During the period referenced, WPSlash was undergoing internal changes that unfortunately affected our response times and communication. We acknowledge that this resulted in delays that did not meet expectations, and we regret the inconvenience caused.
Since then, WPSlash has undergone a change in ownership and platform infrastructure. As part of this transition, the previous company, its licensing system, and its marketplace agreements (including Envato/CodeCanyon) were discontinued and are no longer active. As a result, licenses and terms issued under the previous entity are no longer valid within the current system.
It’s also important to clarify that a product like WooFood is not a single WordPress plugin, but an all-in-one solution that includes a WordPress plugin alongside companion software for macOS, Windows, Android, and iOS. Maintaining, securing, and continuously updating a multi-platform product of this scope is not sustainable under a one-time, lifetime licensing model. For this reason, the product has transitioned to a recurring licensing structure under the new ownership.
We understand that these changes may be disappointing, particularly for long-time customers, and we regret that the transition was not communicated as clearly or promptly as it should have been.
We value all feedback, including critical feedback, as it helps us improve our products and processes moving forward.

WooFood is a waste of money, marketing manipulation and doesnt work as advertised

The entire company wpslash is ran by a developer who made one version and has been selling it for years I personally experienced support stalling for months when i had issues and never been resolved. They used envato support to remove negative reviews (please read why you shouldnt buy envato plugins on the internet). Besides the non existant support the plugin doesnt properly work, features tons of bloat, the way its so poorly programmed expose tons of security vulnerabilities for your wordpress site. You will frequently receive emails about the only chance to buy unlimited license for 499 because the company wpslash is being sold to new owners, sadly this is just sad marketing to capitilize on you, this so happens to happen every single year since they started sending me emails with no link to even unsubscribe. In 2025 they probably saw that nobody was buying their plugin so they jeoperdized their existing users by denying usage of envato licenses, forcing users to buy the license again from them. You will notice they dont provide any proof of their company registration, the reviews in their site are clearly fake. Its a huge shame no proper competitor exists to take their space as the best i can describe woofood is an absolute avoid, do not purchase. As many have said in envato reviews that have been so "conveniently" deleted because they for "some reason" moved away from that platform, just use anything else.

EDIT:
The wpslash reply essentially deflects yet admits that my review is true and that the product was of poor quality, the support was non existant. They fail to provide any identity to new ownership. If the previous company was too small for the "large" task it set upon, why don't you provide receipts, like how many support agents, how many programmers does it show your public record employs?

Thank you for sharing your feedback. While we respectfully disagree with several characterizations in this review, we appreciate the opportunity to clarify a few factual points.
Regarding product development: WooFood has been actively developed since its initial release in 2017. From version 1.0.0 up to version 2.7.7 (the version at the time of acquisition), a total of 277 updates were released, covering new features, performance improvements, compatibility updates, and security-related fixes. This does not reflect a product that was created once and left unchanged.
In terms of marketplace feedback, prior to the transition away from Envato, WooFood held an average rating of 4.92 out of 5 based on 92 verified reviews. While no product is without issues, this score reflects the broader experience of customers over several years.
With respect to Envato moderation, WPSlash did not have the ability to remove reviews or comments unilaterally. All moderation actions were handled by Envato itself in accordance with their marketplace policies.
Regarding licensing and pricing: WooFood is not a single WordPress plugin, but an all-in-one solution that includes a WordPress plugin as well as companion software for macOS, Windows, Android, and iOS. Maintaining and continuously updating a multi-platform product of this scope is not sustainable under a one-time lifetime licensing model. Under the new ownership, the product transitioned to a recurring licensing structure to ensure continued development and long-term viability.
As part of this transition, the previous company entity, its Envato marketplace presence, and its licensing terms were discontinued. Licenses issued under the former entity are therefore not valid within the current system. We acknowledge that communication during this transition could have been clearer, and we regret the confusion this caused.
We take feedback seriously and remain focused on improving transparency, code quality, documentation, and support moving forward.
