I would like to share some insights…

I would like to share some insights regarding my experiences with Natasha from the World Gym Australia head office in handling my concerns. The issue I raised was quite serious, and I anticipated it would be addressed appropriately. Natasha was very pleasant and friendly during our phone conversation, demonstrating a kind personality, and she was cooperative and empathetic toward me. I appreciate her efforts, understanding that she has limitations and that there are supervisors above her. However, I feel it is important to express some concerns about the overall professionalism at World Gym Australia, especially regarding the safety and well-being of women at North Lakes World Gym. Unfortunately, my personal information was shared with outsiders, and my full name was disclosed in a Google review response, despite informing staff that I am a victim of domestic violence and require sensitive handling. I have experienced stalking and harassment, which have significantly affected my well-being. It was distressing to observe groups gathering and following me around the gym, creating an environment that felt unsafe. Additionally, I noticed some security cameras were not operational and observed activities that appeared suspicious. I am also concerned about my ban from the gym, which seems to be aimed at protecting the gym's reputation. As a 51-year-old woman, my primary focus is on my personal journey—sharing this account was not for personal gain. I believe that respect and safety for women should be top priorities. Unfortunately, I feel that my safety was compromised, and I hope the gym will consider implementing further protective measures. I encourage others to report any unethical behaviour to help foster a safer environment for everyone. I have also noticed that some individuals at the gym appear intoxicated, and some follow me around, which I find concerning. These individuals may lack respect or proper conduct, and it is important to ensure a respectful environment. I also believe that visible signage regarding acceptable behaviour—such as prohibitions on harassment, staring, As Josh andhis best frind Tony have been acting and staring onyour womne i supct they have involvement in some activities —would be beneficial to reinforce expectations. To all women, please consider exercising caution with sharing personal details and remain vigilant in your surroundings and in the car park. Keeping detailed notes of any incidents and reporting them can help improve safety for everyone. Support each other and report concerns, as this can contribute to making the environment safer and more welcoming—because protecting the well-being of customers should be a priority for World Gym Australia.

Overall, most of the staff are rude and disrespectful. They lack manners, and Mr. Kurt Mudford, the owner, is arrogant, rude, and unprofessional. The personal trainers don't practice what they preach, and the machines are broken and not working; sometimes they do, sometimes they don’t. Very dirty toilets; when I was there, the facility was filthy and never cleaned. There are people who go there with no good intentions. You can see they’re not into fitness; they are there to look up women. This place's underworld, garbage-filled carparks, is very dirty most of the time. You often see bottles of alcohol. I am concerned that now young children go to the gym unsupervised and are exposed to dangerous people

Started at World Gym Australind the day…

Started at World Gym Australind the day they opened! Great atmosphere, my daughter LOVES the creche, the girls in there know her by her name, they take the time to sit, chat and actually play with her, I feel so comfortable working out while she's in there. They go above and beyond. The Pilates instructors are absolutely amazing and I love being apart of the World Gym community.

Better treatment at other clubs, train elsewhere.

I joined recently on the understanding that my membership would be suspended while I was overseas.

After returning, I was still charged, and was advised that a credit on my account would resolve the issue.

Despite this, the gym continued attempting to charge my account and is now claiming I owe over $400, even though I have not attended in months.

This is a very disappointing experience for a new member and is consistent with feedback I’ve heard from others. I would strongly recommend training elsewhere.

Review from a loyal member

I’ve been at this gym for almost 7 years and I can comfortably say it’s the worst gym in Australia & New Zealand. Management is terrible and fails to take accountability of their employees mistakes. The manager calls you a liar when the gym staff makes promises. They may double charge you and give the spiel to “call your bank” and do not resolve any errors.

The receptionists customer service is terrible and they are rude. The receptionists don’t know how to deal with membership issues, all they know how to do is make protein shakes. The cleaner closes the male toilet every weekday anywhere from 10am to 11am and closes the toilets for 30 minutes to an hour. So if you are a guy and gotta get ready for work, good luck. The cleaner parades around the gym like it’s a beauty pageant. The weight racks and equipment is really dusty and if you ever wipe down an Olympic bar you will get disgusted. Overall terrible gym and I’m moving my membership, I’d suggest you do the same!

Burleigh World Gym

Burleigh World Gym - horrible experience double charging me despite me contacting them to ensure that didn’t happen. Taken no accountability for it and just passed on the blame. Despite me being told it was a mistake on their end. Pauline horrendous customer service skill, said on the phone to me that “it’s only $26” as if the amount had any influence. Very little regard to people’s financial status. Got charged $15 for being over in my bank that won’t be recovered. Do not recommend this branch.

Administration lacks in attention

It’s a great gym as an individual place to work out.

However the Administration side was way off but very unprofessional, at Midland WA. Not friendly at all, and isn’t attentive to enquiries.

The termination process lacks in attention and response times to emails are also lacking in professionalism and attention.

I don’t blame the company, but feels like the “admin” is only there for the money as there’s no passion or motivation to display a welcoming vibe.

Please, thoroughly train your front of house staff or be better with your hiring candidate for the position as the face of your gym Admin/Reception & Customer Service.

Poor professional administration

The gym itself is acceptable; however, my problem has been with my termination. In October-22' I informed the employee at the desk that I would like to terminate. My son has a membership which was on my card and I wanted to terminate that as well. I guess that was too complicated because here it is January and both memberships are being charged to my card. Okay, no problem I will go in and correct the problem.
Nope, it can't be done. The manager disregarded what happened. I felt as if they thought I was a liar. There was a comment on my request about my son's membership. I asked for a supervisor's name and was only given an email. Of course no one from the company has responded to my email. The lack of administrative professionalism rates them a POOR score and a POOR company to work with.
