I took the time to read most of the reviews here. The experience I had is pretty much the same as everyone else has experienced. Let me explain my issue.
I tried the demo back in September 2025 then paid for 2025-2026 software. Paid $1,200, roughly. Got the client portal and software. Come extended due date filing season (10/15/2025) the software did not work. Could not E-file at all. My E-file number was provisioned in their software both from within the software and online. Did not work at all.
Called and was given that same sales rep that most of you got with Taxwise. (I actually think that individual does not work there, not a real person), left many messages with him to cancel unusable software and nothing. Left details on what account I was calling about gave details on user ID account number and nothing. Called support and all they did was refer me back to the sales rep. Got frustrated and stopped calling them. At this point started using Proconnect and it worked perfectly and my E-file was provisioned perfectly on their platform. Used it the same day and E-filed the same day.
Later in Jan 2026 or so got a call from someone within Taxwise and asked if I needed help. Told her, Yea cancel as I have been trying forever to cancel and she said Well maybe it's just a dummy account and you need registration email. Explained registered the software per the Taxwise instructions, I just want a refund and cancelation. She said if you need further technical support call us back and I said no bother. Because the software doesn't work.
Nearing end of tax season, got a statement showing I had paid $1,200 for software I never and could not use so I called again to complain. I got a call back and the manager did nothing but blame me.
Taxwise has become a scam and as such should be reported as such. Do not pay or download this software you will save money and time. No support and frankly I guarantee the only reason Taxwise exists is to make money off those who don't use their flagship software. It's like with bank and check cashing sites. Check cashing places with over 200% interest are owned and funded by big banks. Same situation here. They can take advantage of us because it's not associated with the big software they own so they can operate unethically and get away with it.
Again, do not buy Taxwise or pay anything to Taxwise. There should be a class action lawsuit against them.
Software doesn't work, support a joke and managers blame the clients who just want a trustworthy software.

Our customer service rep has been zero percent helpful, and if I call to try to speak with someone, I'm put on hold for 2 hours before being told to talk to my rep. DO NOT use this company.
Business Licensing Started in 2023, Refund Still Unresolved in 2026
I hired this company in November 2023 to assist with business licensing and compliance services for my business. From the beginning, I was proactive in asking questions and ensuring all documentation was completed correctly.
My materials were acknowledged as received on December 19, 2023. Throughout 2024, I followed up periodically, but communication was inconsistent and there was no clear indication that the work had been completed.
On November 21, 2024, I was contacted to confirm my business address and was told a zoning request would be submitted to the city. After that, communication stalled again.
On February 14, 2025, I was informed that my case had been mishandled internally, that the original handler had not completed the work, and that little to no progress had been made. At that time, I was told a refund would be requested.
On November 26, 2025, I was explicitly told that a refund check had been issued and mailed. Despite multiple follow ups in December 2025, January 2026, and February 2026, As of March 2026, I have not received a check, nor have I been provided tracking information or confirmation that it was mailed or reissued.
I remained responsive, cooperative, and patient over a period of more than two years. I’m sharing this experience to highlight the importance of follow through, accountability, and clear communication when handling time sensitive compliance services.

But as everyone who has posted here ... customer service is a joke !!!. Never mind submitting a on line support ticket. They will not answer you. Dont call them as you will be on the phone for an hour and will not answer !!!!
Once you have paid your subscription ... you are on your own.

Wolters Kluwer CT Corp - Bad Billing Practices - Refusal to Accept Termination Request
My renewal date for a registered agent was March 1st. I received the statement for renewal and I tried to cancel my renewal by email but the email Wolters Kluwer had on the statement rejected so I called on 2/23/2026 and was assured my renewal was cancelled. I received a notice of balance due on 3/3/2026 and called and the agent verified my Registered Agent service was not cancelled and the agent REFUSED to cancel my registered agent subscription. Agent said Wolters Kluwer / CT Corp will not cancel my Registered Agent and they are staying on as the Registered Agent against my will until they receive notice from the Secretary of State I have a new registered agent. Even after I explained in fact I have a new registered agent, they refused to cancel my Registered Agent service.
Absolutely incompetent
Absolutely incompetent. Unbelievably so. Use anyone but them. Anyone is better, anyone.
As a CFO of a company
As a CFO of a company, this is one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. I have logged over 10 hours, yes, 10 hours, attempting to reset a password and get myself as admin on our account, as well as updated software we paid over 30k for. I am just bounced around over and over with different reps, IT, etc, and no resolution. Then, they think they give me a resolution and close a ticket. There is no way for me to respond and I get bounced to a new rep. Their menus are beyond confusing and no one is from the states that can actually help. It also asks you to enter an account number when calling and then completely disregards and moves on to the next discussion.
I am told their software is good, but from a billing and technical side, I cannot recommend them at all.

I would not recommend TaxWise based on my experience.
Before purchasing the software in July, I spent hours on the phone with their team confirming they could support a transition from my previous tax software. That support was a deciding factor in my purchase. After I paid and received access, their support person later confirmed they could not actually help me transition after all.
Their own terms of service state you can cancel within seven business days. I canceled within that timeframe. I emailed the sales representative, Theodore Weaver, explained the situation clearly, and told him I was canceling because they could not fulfill what was promised. He asked why I wanted to cancel, I explained everything, and then communication stopped.
Despite canceling properly and within their stated policy, they continued sending bills and ultimately charged me anyway. I cannot use the software, and I never received the transition support I was promised. As a small business owner, I am now out nearly $2,500 for a product that did not meet the agreed expectations.
Customer service after the cancellation was equally disappointing. Calls did not resolve the issue. Instead of working toward a solution, I received hostile messages from management stating they would charge me regardless. That level of treatment toward a customer who followed their own cancellation policy is unacceptable.
This experience has left me feeling misled and financially taken advantage of. Based on what happened, I do not trust this company to honor what they promise, and I would strongly caution other small businesses before committing to their services.

I bought online copies of my books and they came with a instruction link next to the access code and when I clicked on one of them it took me to a website where it automatically redeemed one of my books and wouldnt give me access to it. The UI on the website is terrible and it takes forever to do anything on it because it has to refresh for everything you do. I do not reccomend buying anything on here. save yourself the headache.

I’m extremely disappointed with this firm. They continue to demand payment for services that were never performed. Now they’re claiming I owe them for "what they did in the meantime"—a vague and unsupported charge that appears nowhere in any of the documents or agreements. Despite repeated requests for clarification and documentation, they’ve provided nothing to justify these demands.
Worse, their communication has become increasingly aggressive and harassing. I expected professionalism and transparency, but instead I’ve been met with evasiveness and pressure tactics. I would strongly caution anyone considering working with this firm—read everything carefully and be prepared to defend yourself.

One of the worst customer service I have ever seen. I got a subscription, because I hired help and the help left without notice. I assumed the price of the subscription, because I had no choice. Even though I was a client for years they wouldn’t cancel it. However I told them right away, in March 2024, I didn’t want to renew it. The guy said he would make sure to cancel it. We are now 6 months later, I contact the agent in my file to confirm my renewal was cancelled. She was on vacation. One or two weeks later, I receive the invoice for the renewal. I then contact the emergency contact in my agent automated response and a Sophie Senecal keeps answering me I had to cancel 30 days before the renewal. She didn’t offer any help, just stuck to her 30 days policy and referred elsewhere, while 6 months is 6 times 30 days. I was plenty within the time range they ask for. Now I have to find the proof to defend myself against them, because the agent didn’t keep his promise to me 6 months ago and because the usual bad customer service at Wolters Kluwer keeps being their policy.
And I got a new licence yesterday, but they charge me for the last four months while I didn't have the licence and my employee wasn't even working for me and being productive using that licence.... How can they do that? I will file a complaint and see where it leads, but this is unacceptable.
Avoid doing business with them if you can
We hired this company to file Foreign Business Registration in multiple states. Our onboarding contact changed at the end of the process and two states were missed registering during the set-up. Unfortunately, it was not caught until the following year (2025) when I received a notice to file the Annual Report for a different state.
I contacted CT aka Wolters Kluwer and asked why I was alerted to file the Annuals since our contract included this. To my surprise when asking about the other states, we have a total of 29, I was told they only show 3 states. After multiple customer service contacts, I was sent a list, and still states are missing. Customer Service is awful. There is no main point of contact for your account. It's random. Whoever may follow up from a call you place regarding your issue.

I have received multiple invoices for a service for which I have already paid. Just received another invoice yesterday. The company agrees that I should not be receiving this invoice but fails to correct the error. The contact phone given on the invoice is not in service. The customer service is a black hole.
