I ordered from McDonald’s via Wolt at 21:32, and my order arrived at 22:25 — nearly an hour later. Unfortunately, the food (burgers and fries) was completely cold. I contacted support right away, but received no reply for over 30 minutes, by which time the food was no longer edible and had to be reheated.
McDonald’s food is not meant to be reheated, and the entire experience was disappointing — cold, tasteless food and no dinner as expected.
After a long back-and-forth, Wolt only offered 50% compensation, claiming the delivery was “on time” by internal standards. But the core issue was not the delivery time — it was the quality of the food upon arrival, which was unacceptable.
I expected Wolt to stand by the quality of their service, not hide behind technical delivery metrics. Sadly, I won’t be using Wolt again anytime soon.

Wolt has quickly become the absolute WORST service I have ever had the displeasure of trying. After many years buying through their platform, I am done. And I'm taking a lot of my friends with me in boycotting this abhorrent company. I honestly lost count of how many time I've had to write the useless chat support for different issues, only to have them unresolved and/or be mistreated by overseas support agents.
Their latest circus: I placed a pickup order on March 30th at 6:05 PM. Estimated wait time: 20 minutes. The moment I paid, it jumped to 35 minutes. I could not wait that long and needed to cancel the order, which I proceeded to do immediately.
I contacted support to cancel - something I’ve done before with no issue. This time though, they refused, claiming the order was already “in production,” which makes zero sense for a market where items are just handed over. Specially if the order was place 1 minute before I sent the message. After a heated and disrespectful interaction with their chat support staff, I simply gave up. That's what they do - they will embroil you in a web of lies and stupidity, until you lose the power to fight for your rights.
Their Laplandsgade Market location is just another installment in their clownish demise. The staff are slow, rude, and completely indifferent to both customers and delivery drivers. No sense of urgency, no professionalism - just a constant and disrespectful mess. They will make people wait while they literally drag their feet around, looking bored and displeased. No one at the counter, no one to hand out orders in a efficient manner.
Wolt has been getting worse for a while now, but this was the last straw. I’m canceling my membership, and I won’t be using their service again. Avoid them if you value your time (and sanity). Even better, place a formal complaint with the Consumer Protection Agency if you can or have time. They must be held accountable or leave Denmark, in this case. Enough is enough.

I am a regular customer of wolt supermarket. I recently got 2 bad food items that I had to throw away- they refused to refund me saying that they checked with their supplier, and the food was fine when leaving their location. Really negative experience. If it were a regular super, I would return the items myself, but that's obviously not possible with wolt super. I'm stopping buying groceries from them.

Short version: Being a Wolt courier means working for pennies without any guarantees or rights while being blamed for every issue.
Long version: Currently the average Wolt car courier earns about 80 DKK per hour over a full month. We have no wage, no holiday pay, no sick leave, no pension, no milage and parking allowance, no working equipment (we have to buy it by ourselves) and no insurance (de facto). If you get into an accident, all Wolt will say "We're very sorry" and offer no help whatsoever.
A Wolt courier’s earnings depend only on completed deliveries. It’s common to wait 1 to 3 hours without receiving a single order—meaning zero earnings.
Over the past year the number of orders per courier has dropped by about 2-3 times, distance-based pay has decreased by a third and the minimum delivery pay has been reduced from 50 to 18 DKK.
Wolt blatantly lies in its advertisements about earnings, inflating salary figures by 2-3 times. This allows them to attract more and more couriers and reduce their expenses while clogging city traffic.
To cut expenses even further Wolt bundles up to five orders into one delivery. In such cases couriers have no chance of delivering all orders on time and deliveries are not made in order of readiness but based on route optimization. As a result the first customer often receives their order last.
I know how terrible Wolt’s customer support can be, but courier support is even worse. In most cases it’s simply useless. The majority of support staff are idiots. They often lie and provide no real help. Also they frequently fine couriers in situations where they are not at fault.
The most common issue customers face is a late order. In 9 out of 10 cases the courier is not to blame. But many customers don’t understand this. They don’t realize that the problem often originates from Wolt or venues. They don’t understand that when couriers are assigned double/triple orders they cannot decline just part, they either take everything or reject all of it. And if they refuse they might wait hours for their next delivery.
Beyond the awful pay and working conditions couriers also have to endure customers' anger. I have personally encountered customers who screamed and swore at me and it was impossible to explain that I had absolutely nothing to do with the delay.
What’s even more horrifying is that no one cares about the chaos that Wolt is creating. Unions, journalists and the government simply don’t care. Instead of support couriers face constant blame. Articles frequently appear accusing Wolt couriers of supposedly breaking the law. But no one seems to care that Wolt itself is violating at least labor laws and advertising regulations.

The courier never came with my food.
The company would not compensate me in any form. Even though I was paying for Wolt+. Meaning that I pay a monthly subscription to get my food delivered with no delivery fee.
I ordered my food from Stefanos Nørrebro.
Also I was fasting during this Ramadan so my patience was short.
Normally you receive a call if the courier can’t find the address. The courier was legit outside the building on the 2 roads away.
I tried explaining the situation to the customer support. It took 1 hour just to get the money back from the order. The person did not even care about that I had Wolt+ for a long time and was charged this month for a service I did not get.
Customer support said I could get a voucher for the money I spent. I then had to ask the person to refund the amount to my bank account. Like I’m ever gonna use a voucher, if my food won’t arrive at all.
Furthermore the courier would not even step out of their car. As I could see In the app.
The person pressed delivered 2 min. Before deadline and then drove away. Even though the person was not at the address.
Don’t use this company, they don’t care about their customers.

I spent around 450kr for food that was picked up more than an hour after it was made. The order time kept getting pushed back. Obviously when it came, it was inedible (fast food after an hour being sat there - you can't eat or reheat). Their response.. "our system will only allow compensation of 30% of the total order". Eventually, the customer support asked the supervisor and they said the most they can do is 50%. For a situation that was ALL on Wolt and not the customer, 50% refund for something that is inedible is insane. They don't care about the customers, and have this "system" to prevent any responsibility. Stop using this, there's better alternatives that take responsibility for their mistakes. I have all screenshots for proof.

Of course, an automated reply which looks exactly the same as all the others.. "we continuously work on improving.. bla bla bla". Roughly translates to "we could not care less, and we will carry on". I'm betting the day is just around the corner where Wolt goes bankrupt.

Ordered food hungover for me and 4 people, the initial delivery time was 60-70 minutes, which in the end took more than 120 minutes. No food arrived, only 4 drinks and dips. The delivery guy acted as if that's the correct order, only after reviewing the contents of the order he realized the food is missing. The support is taking so long to review the problem and give us solution. In the end we're very hungry, disappointed, angry and furious. Not planning to use wolt ever again!

Their employee gave us the half of the order and left. We contact immediately with support. Wolt, instead to call the guy to bring to us what was missing, they wrote to us that they will return the money to our bank account and we can see it in 5-7 days (!).
It is unbelievqble that they didn't call the guy to give us what he forgot in his box. We wanted to eat. Not our money back in 7 days. We already were waiting too much because their employee was late

The food did arrive on time and the restaurant did a really good job.
What is not good is that Wolt wants you to sign up for their service, give all your privacy details, even when you want to use them only once.
In our case we found the restaurant first, on Google Maps, using a phone, and then were forced to sign up for Wolt inside Google Maps. That did not work, and so I had to do it all again on a computer.
They also ask you to pinpoint your address on a map so the courier can find it. But then they apparently don't use this for anything, because the courier could not find our address. (And it's really not that difficult, anyone using Google Maps can easily find it.)
So all in all, a pretty mediocre service, making things much more difficult than they need to be.

My food was cold upon arrival and when I complained about the issue I was told that WOLT wouldn’t compensate us -since -according to their system -the food was picked up as soon as it had been made.
I then replied that wouldn’t change the fact that our food was cold when we received it. But there was “simply nothing they could do”. I lost 300,- DKK and that’s just the the latest of many bad experiences with this company that is ripping off both restaurants AND customers. Will never use them again and urge you all to go with ANY other alternative out there -or even better -order at the restaurant itself.

I ordered 26 boxes of ice cream from a supermarket via Wolt—20 were substituted for flavours I didn’t want. I even offered to pay double the courier fee to return them and cancel the order, but Wolt refused (because that would mean less profit for them).
Wolt’s predictable response? “You can choose whether to allow substitutes in your cart.” Sure, for a few items—not 77% of my order. There’s no reason their tech team couldn’t implement a limit that requires user confirmation when major changes occur.
This is a classic dark UX pattern:
1. Hiding important choices while making upsell options more prominent.
2. Burying substitution settings in the cart overview instead of the purchase page.
3. Defaulting to “substitute” without explicit consent.
4. Allowing unlimited substitutions without notifying the user when the order is drastically altered.
This isn’t just bad service—it’s manipulation.

I ordered myself a pizza from a nearby restaurant in hopes i receive it quicker than usual . It took around 40 minutes to be delivered and it was of course cold . I asked the courier why it took so long because it was less than a km distance . He politely explained that he had to wait for pick up for another order that was in the area because he received a double order . How is this possible that Wolts system is so flawed after being in bussines for that long ? Instead of giving the courier 2 orders , Wolt could have saved time and money by giving him just one order . I will no longer use Wolt to order food , my bike from the thrash is much more reliable .

The root of bad comments from customers is primarily due to the company itself, which pays pennies to couriers and makes them its slaves. Therefore, first of all, in order for any changes to take place, the company must stop deceiving couriers and pay them a decent salary, as it was before, and then you will immediately notice the changes that your company is growing in the rating. But at the moment you have other priorities, it's a pity. This is a reputation that is worth a lot.

Food was completely cold and didn't get a full refund. As you know, burger and fries can't really be reheated with succes and should be warm in the first place when paying more than the price of a direct taxi for delivery.

Worse customer service and support people are lying and not giving excuses when I requested to cancel the order because of the delay they caused. Support person said they couldn’t get in touch with restaurant I got in touch with them in 3 mins. I won’t be home to receive the order and drive off with a hungry kid.
