My mother was traveling from Suceava…
My mother was traveling from Suceava to Birmingham on July 2nd, 2026 (Booking Reference: HWYDTG). She had a cabin bag that weighed exactly 8 kg, which had easily passed all checks on previous flights without any issues. At the gate in Suceava, she was stopped and asked to pay a baggage fee. While the financial side is one thing, the way she was treated is completely unacceptable.
When my mother tried to calmly explain that the bag was only 8 kg and had always been accepted before, a female gate agent completely lost her temper and started wildly screaming at her. It was an unprovoked, aggressive scream directed at a passenger. No matter the luggage rules, no employee has the right to yell at and humiliate customers. This immense stress brought my mother to tears and deeply traumatized her for the entire evening during and after the flight.
I filed a formal complaint regarding this severe breach of professional ethics. Instead of investigating the staff's behavior, Wizz Air customer support (agent N. Stoyanova) just sent me generic, copy-pasted templates about bag sizes. In their final email, they cynically stated that their "position remains unchanged".
By doing this, Wizz Air is actively covering up the aggressive and abusive behavior of their personnel. They do not care about customer service or basic human decency. Absolutely shameful.
