They hate their customers

I've banned there over a decade. I was charged $30 to stop payment on a lost check. I called them 14 hours later to say the check was found and requested a credit back for the $30 fee. They refused. I'm now looking for a new bank. Typical greedy, soulless bankers.

Nothing but frustration

I've had nothing but trouble with this credit union from the get-go. I opened a 0% apr card, transfered a balance, then set up monthly payments, so as to pay it off by the time the 0% apr ran out. However, this transaction was deemed a "cash advance" instead of a "balance transfer," which ended
up putting me into approx 14% apr sooner than the 0 was advertised to expire. I accepted this frustration and moved forward with paying off the card. I was married in the midst of being an account holder and sent marriage certificate, driver's license, and social security card to Wings to have
my name changed legally. None of these were acceptable, and Wings laid out a lengthy, inconvenient process required for name change. I abandoned the name change. Last month, I was able to pay off my entire balance and finally be done! Only to find out today, that rather than the system recognizing there was a 0 balance and canceling the autopay that was set up. The PROCESSED it. I called two different agents to cancel or reverse this, both of whom told me it "wasn't possible." Unbelievably ridiculous. I'm told I will have to wait until the payment hits my account, then transfer that payment to my Wings savings acct, then transfer again to the bank account that is currently holding those funds for that payment. In the meantime, I will overdraft in my other
bank account and incur fees. Wings offered NO assistance in regard to this extreme inconvenience and cost to me. I cannot wait to cancel this account! Stay away from Wings!

Fed up

No compassion for unexpected financial struggles. Refuses to assist and suggest solutions and resources to help. If your rich and never have financial struggles, this credit union is for you.

Should have stayed at Wells Fargo

I left Wells Fargo to join Wings because a friend of mine raved about how much she loved it. I have no idea what she could have loved. This is the worst bank I’ve ever experienced. They make Wells Fargo look like a great bank! Wings charges fees for everything and never returns them when you call to request that. They hold deposits for five to ten days. Customer service people are not friendly or kind. It’s horrible. I’m sure there will be a class action lawsuit over all the fees they charge in the future. I look forward to them going under or otherwise suffering.

"The primary purpose of credit unions…

"The primary purpose of credit unions forming is to provide affordable financial services to their members—typically people with a common bond—while prioritizing member needs over profit."

This definition is important. I have been a member for 20 years. This bank has become sketchy to say the least. From removing rewards for debit purchases, to signing members up for EXPLOITATIVE $35 courtesy payment fees without an easy way to opt out (I don't remember opting in), to treating you like a criminal for using mobile deposit (I had a check held for approximately 10 days), this bank is a sinking ship. I will be exploring legal recourse for their overdraft fee policies. I am closing my account today. This is so sad because they used to be great. I would tell everyone I know how much I loved Wings. Now I tell everyone to stay away and will continue doing so. Go somewhere else. Please, you will save a lot of money and trust.

This institution will destroy all you work for

Current member stuck after this institution did a 180 on me and now treats me like a pariah.
If any legal reps wish to assist me please advise, wings is deceitful, arrogant, rude, and unified in destroying their own members lives.
This is the former employee credit union for the once great Northwest Airlines, and they were a great institution, always friendly and went above and beyond. They took pride but now it’s a scandalous operation that tries to come after your assets and separate you from your money.

All I can say is STAY AWAY! You will regret it majorly if you give them even your name.
I hope this institution sees its day soon and the way they are trying to straight up manufacture crisis so as to come after your home for example, it speaks to how they are likely in bad shape financially.
Hiring wannabe NYC hedge fund hero’s who haven’t left Minnesota is their attempt to seem serious. It would be laughable if they didn’t have any ability to F up lives, but they do and they use it.

A Complete Fiasco

I opened an account with Wings to get a good rate on a used car loan. That was almost three years ago and everything was handled professionally. When Wells Fargo stopped reissueing HELOCs I opened one with Wings about two years ago, again no problems. Now I am trying to get a larger line of credit and was told I needed a whole new HELOC. The processing this time has been a complete disaster. Every person I have had to deal with doesn't seem to know what they are doing. The situation this time is a little more complicated because I would not be available for the closing so I was going to use a power of attorney so my niece could sign on my behalf. POAs are not that uncommon but three different associates at the local branch didn't seem to be aware of how Wings handled them and my niece and I had a make multiple trips to the branch to get it in place. Then, at the last minute, the loan officer handling the application informed me that my spouse needed to be at the closing to sign some paperwork. That wasn't needed for the first HELOC I have with them. They can't be there because they are with me, When I tried to contact the loan officer I get an out of office reply and there customer service stops at 7 pm! Not sure what is going to happen now.

January 10 update.
After I wrote the original review I tried contacting their customer service when they were open, first using chat (which was another fiasco ending with the agent abruptly terminating the chat) and then messaging (where I connected with a really great agent who gave me the email address of the loan officer's supervisor. I contacted the supervisor and he also proved to be very helpful. At this point the closing has not taken place, pending our return, but there is a plan in place to make it happen. Among other things the supervisor provided me with a copy of the original closing papers showing that my spouse had signed them, so I stand corrected.

Just spoke to Nick Lange…

Just spoke to Nick Lange 1-952-997-8226. I explained that I went for this credit card offer partly for the initial interest promotion. They could not get my paperwork done online and I had to send it snail mail. This knocked me out of the promotion but no one advised me. Instead they charged me for the transfer and hit me with interest. They said they wont do a thing for me. Very poor customer service. Paying this card of and I have an offer of where they can stick it. If I could give less then a star I would. stay away from this place they dont give a rip about customers whatsoever.

Needing a Document Notarized

Went into a Wings Financial to have a document notarized and was informed they were not able to do this for me because I do not have an account with them. This is the case but I bank with USAA as I served our country and bank with a military bank. They refused to notarize anything for me. Thank you for all your help I will never set foot in your bank ever again! The US Bank up the street did it for me without a problem. The bank manager was rude and when I said I was never asked if I wanted to open an account she said it did not matter as I would have to wait 30 days after that anyway. WHAT A JOKE OF A FACILITY AND WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE TO BANK WITH THEM!

SO SO DISAPPOINTED

I have been a member for over 30 years. Over the past 3 years this Credit Union went from great to miserable to work with or do banking with. Member Services Reps and manages are totally incompetent from the start to finish. They don't know if they offer UTMA, how to get you a debit card, go into your file to review notes of past issues you have had etc. The Reps are rude and lack customer care and relations skills. This has to be from lack of proper training to poor vetting during the hiring process. The last three issue I have had over the past couple of months and ways connected to the meber services was a disaster. Every step of working with them was a test of my patience. I won't even go into the issue and problems with their new Sky, it is an exercise in stupidity, and an excuse to eliminate the once great service they used to provide.

Lost Access to my Account Living In China After Digital "Upgrade"

I'm an American living in China. Due to that there are many sites that are difficult to use here to to the CCP aggravating firewall. That being said, with a VPN I can actually access all the services I'm used to having in the US ... until now. After Wings Financial CU "upgraded" their site I can no longer log in. Rather than allowing me to verify I am a customer, they just gave me the bird. What's even more frustrating is that over the May holiday China just had I was in Thailand and was able to access Wings, both the App and Website without issue. This was both with and without having a VPN on. How am I supposed to pay my bills?

No way I'm paying any fees that I may incur while I don't have access.

Poor service trying to get account unlocked

I have been using online banking with Wings for a couple of years. Every now and then, my password would not be accepted. However, lately every time I log on to digital banking my account says an error has occurred and I cannot get in. I have made many phone calls to get this figured out. I have gotten new passwords. Different reps have told me different reasons why I can’t get into my account. One guy told me I had to disable all my cookies on my iPad and that was what the problem was! No, it wasn’t. This has been going on for about 3 months now. One guy put me on hold and said he was going to have his supervisor help me. Never happened. I’m ready to quit Wings because of the high frustration of NOT being able to get into my account. One rep told me I could always call them to get my balance!! I should not have to do that. EXTREMELY POOR customer service. Why is it so hard for them to unlock my account so I can use it again??? Very upset with them.Again, this has been going on for months and nobody seems to know the right way to fix it.

Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC)…

My Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC) was purchased by Wings Financial. Since purchasing the loan, I signed up for access to my account online and requested e-Documents. There has not been a single notification sent to me by email or through the portal regarding statements or how much my payment is each month. There is only one past statement available for me to review through their portal. I have notified them through their portal "message" system but I do not receive any notification when they reply to my message. I have to periodically log in to check and see if there is a message. There portal is very difficult to navigate too. Extremely frustrated!
