The website has a nice and clean design. Within a short time, I was able to find a good apartment for my last-minute weekend getaway. I will definitely check this website for my next holiday.
Excellent website for vacation rental shopping.
Sehr gute alternative zu Hotels. Es hat Spaß gemacht.

First of, their fees are intransparent. If you cancel in advance they don't tell you how much you will be refunded at what point. I've repeatedly asked customer service, but they won't reveal their formula. Also they initially tell you relatively low prices slap but slap on a hefty service charge once you actually follow through with the reservation.
I booked a pretty costly "romantic flat" in an East German town which turned out to be a simple room with external bathroom. Since Wimdu insists that complaints have to be made immediately, I gave them a call straight away, at which point they told me that "flat" and "room with shared bathroom" are interchangeable expressions to them. The hotel itself is literally the worst I have ever seen yet one of the most expensive places (over €70 a night) we've ever stayed at. The landlord is apparently a maniacal do-it-himselfer who has come up with the single worst building job I have ever witnessed. It was monstrous yet at the same time even comical. In the first room, the (shared) bathroom was separated by a window from the kitchen with a single curtain on the kitchen side. When I was taking a shower I suddenly smelled something burning. Then I realised that there was somebody frying up sausages in the kitchen and had opened the window to the bathroom where I was prancing around naked, to let some air in -- and possibly to cop a shufty of ickle me wriggling his Y-fronts off.
The room/flat had been advertised with free Wifi. When we asked the landlady she told us that you could get the city's communal free Wifi when you stood near the window in some parts of the house. Unfortunately not in our room. Ridiculous. We asked Wimdu to refund us 10% but they eventually disregarded our request, despite several phone calls and e-mails. And of course they still allow the landlord to advertise "free Wifi".
The landlord was fully aware that complaints to Wimdu are a waste of time. The only thing they fear is that you will seek alternative accomodation. They told me that they are using Wimdu and Fewo-Direkt, apparently because it allows them to rent out their dump at premium prices, and consequently I will not be using either in the future.
By the way, Wimdu, don't reply to this and tell me to contact your helpline. They're useless.

I am often visitor to Vienna and in recent years I use WIMDU to find the flats for my stays. The WIMDU service is very efficient and of high quality
Best landlord, best communicatiuon, best accomodation in Regensburg,
looking forward to rent soonest;)
As a leader in network marketing i travel a lot around the world , mostly europe for now. And i always want to make sure that my businesspartners and teammates have a great experience on our trips so i look for afordable places with good standards. usually not under 4 Star Hotels. This time we tried Wimdu and it was a great experience. From now on always going for Wimdu appartments first. We had a great 4 day stay next to Milan and the conditions were awesome. payed a quarter of the usual price and had all we needed. even an own billardtable :) AC Minda

Unfortunately, I'm unable to give 0 stars. I have never been treated so badly by a website. First, you spend time creating your account as a host, uploading photos, making a description in four different languages and so on. It takes some time. Next, you will receive an email asking you to wait until they have checked your account. So far so good. It took a week with that. Then you get a standard mail where they, and hold on, within 48 hours, demand a copy of one's passport (driving license is not accepted) and a copy of a rental agreement or proof of ownership for the property you want to host. That's OK, except that I'm not excited to send a copy of my passport with all personal information in a plain unencrypted mail. But now I have done that. Then you wait 5-6 days after which you get another standard mail stating that you do not "meet their security and quality requirements" and that your account has been deleted with immediate effect - no explanation for what the problem is, what they lack or can not fit into their "demands" - and moreover, they have the audacity to write in the mail that they thank you for understanding! Yes, you have just accused me, without explanation or basis, of being a liar, fraudster or worse and thank me so much for my understanding!?! Then you call in and of course get a poor employee somewhere out in the world with no clue and he can only tell that you that they do not know the requirements and that your account has been deleted because there has been "unusual activity" on it. Well, what "unusual activity" could there be on an account that is not active yet ?? Then, you write back to them nicely and ask for an explanation. Of course, you will not get any answer! This "company", which has now lost all credibility, also has all of my personal information that may be misused by anyone. I am considering a police report for violation of the Personal Data Act, but it hardly helps because they hide somewhere in the world. I can only say one thing ... STAY AWAY!
Horrible company. They have scammers and fake apartments on their platform, not to mention they charge hidden fees which range from 10 to 21% based on the country you're in.
This company takes months to answer its clients and they have hidden fees which the client does not see when paying for the booking.
We rented an apartment in Miami this summer, payed in full, received all confirmation emails from Wimdu med all info but when we arrived in Miami THERE WAS NO APARTMENT. Wimdu does not take any responsibilities and they have no idea who is renting out these places, they do not check the hosts or the places. 5 more people/families have been fooled this summer. SO DO NOT USE WIMDU!!!!
The company is finished. Their 'contact' page seems to be disabled, it just endlessly reloads when you try to submit an inquiry, and on their helpline you get an automated message. The current payment never arrived.
German Manager magazine reports that the company is bankrupt. Since my listings still exist, and just three days ago were upgraded to instant-book, I have to conclude that they're fraudulent.
I have had very bad experiences with Wimdu and Kingly rentals. Wimdu is not to be trusted, many advertisements on their website are false. I came in contact with Kingly Rentals through Wimdu. I was ripped of by Kingly Rentals, it is a fake company. Be very careful when dealing with these two companies!
Do not book thru Wimdu. Trying to book a villa at Ibiza we got in contact with a fake company - Kingly Rentals - and found out they steal peoples id's/pictures. Their web changes all the time - new names, new pictures. So be careful. Do your research - and for good sake - AVOID Kingly Rentals!!! They're fake.
They do not have phone contact and d'ont answer e-mail. I rent my house through them and they transfer my money (1750€) to a fake account. Do not trust this site.
we can not delate our account. custumer support is so bad. in my profile is someone elses profil a fakeprofile and i cant reach anyone
we were scammed by a property on Wimdu - which W said they had completed their 3 point checks. we were led onto a false/mirror website with payment details. Despite 2 families being scammed of €2500, Wimdu took no responsibility and wouldn't help investigate why their 3 point security failed. They have since removed the scam property BUT we are left without any cover. Really shocking.
