Awful experience from start to finish

The house we rented had scaffolding when we arrived. They were busy working on the roof that had leaked everywhere inside. There was about 3 inches of water on the floor. We took pictures and reported this to Wimdu - they explained that as we had arrived early the owners had not had the chance to finish repairs. They kept all our money and did not refund a penny. Needless to say we did not stay in the house and I would never use this company again.

Edit - and the answer below is why you should never ever use Wimdu. Slippery is not the word!

The equipment of the accommodation, as well as its quality and cleanliness, is managed and regularly checked by our contractors and not directly by Wimdu. The contractual partner of your booking is the one who can help you in case of complaints and refunds regarding the scaffolding. Of course we will also forward your complaint to the contractual partner and act as a mediator.

A big fraud

Don’t use this fake company, it’s all just a big fraud, they are stealing money!!

And response like “send us more information about your case to email **** is a fake as well, the email doesn’t exist!!🙄
If you gonna read responses from them to the other people (rewiews), it’s all the same like automatic reply🙄🤦🏻‍♀️
Just a FRAUD!!!!!

HELP!

Can someone give me an update as to if this website is legit and will actually work well with you? For looking at various reviews from various people there is a lot of mis fortune and a lot of good that comes out of this website. I’d like to know if this website is legit and well enough to work with since I will be renting out an apartment ( long term ) with a man who is working with “Wimdu” to give us apartment keys and documents of apartment. I do not want to pay over $2000 and send a picture of the receipt for then them to say the transaction didn’t go through or any type of mis communication.

Last minute money

Sent my direct deposit in for an apartment that i need asap, sent them a picture of my receipt like they asked, but two days later when i’m supposed to get a key, i get an email from them saying there has been a last minute change to the Terms and Conditions and how i have to pay an extra thousand dollars for if i damage anything in the apartment when i go visit it. this is an apartment i need and this delay is totally unacceptable. I can’t take my sweet time getting an apartment if i’m looking for one. I need my key, and if not, i need my money back. this is a scam and if people aren’t going to get what they need, the company should shut down without a question.

Been about 3 weeks and no reply

Been about 3 weeks and no reply, i canceled the apartment plans they said they would return my $2,000 US. So far no reply i sent abojt 6 emails.
What can i do? Amyone had same problem?.

Do not book with this company

Do not book with this company. The worst customer service I have ever experienced. It was apparently our fault that we had to pay for new locks of an apartment that was not fit for purpose. Disgusting customer service.

I was also scammed by a day late…

I was also scammed by a day late check-in due to some 'family crisis' of the host, so they walked away with more than 2k. Wimdu said they couldn't contact the host afterwards (of course, neither could I when the SIM has long been discarded) and I must contact my bank even though the money was paid to Wimdu to hold in escrow. This was for a 2 and a half week booking. The host did not cancel through their website like he should have, sent me an email on the side. And due to this, with the delay, he got all the money and I got left with having to find somewhere else on a Friday evening. This has happened before to others yet they've done nothing to close this loophole. The 'charming flat' has now been pulled from their website - was probably not even owned by the host.

I cannot believe they're allowed to operate. But with them shutting down, at the end of 2018 as reported by Techcrunch yesterday, be AWARE to not book though them. Unfortunately Berlin is far for me to go to go knock on their office door.

We was coming to Italy we need some where to stay family member gave me Wimdu I tried their website could not believe the apartments on offer we where please and delighted what I chosen would come again, with my family great nine days and would be through wimdu.

Had no problem with the booking…

Had no problem with the booking experience.We were a bit disappointed with the property we booked as it was a lot more shabby than on the photos and needed some TCL.Also there was no TV as stated on Wimdu which we complained about to the apartment office so should now be amended on Wimdu.

Better than their competitor!

My experience with Wimdu so far - two bookings through them - has been excellent. I find their website easy to use and the booking process reliable.
I will use them again in future.

Please DO NOT RENT from Tara from 176…

Please DO NOT RENT from Tara from 176 Commercial Road in London>
I paid the studio in London hosted by Tara: 176 Commercial Road. The host was never there, they did not leave the key inside the keybox, Tara's husband was there and did not allow me to check in on the contrary was extremely rude with me. Wimdu employees did not take care of my situation, Wimdu gave the money to Tara and her husband without allow me to have my money as reimbursement due to this incredible situation with the host. They sent me a message that the host, Tara, will do the check in a day later when I obviously was staying in another place and paying extra for a bed and a roof in a city that was outside my country.
If I recommend Wimdu or Tara's place: NEVER.

I was happy with wimdu in previous…

I was happy with wimdu in previous years, but this year the place we stayed at was appalling & unfit for anyone to reside in. We were very upset & two of us had health problems because of our accomodation
