DO NOT USE - CAUTION

I placed an order for a bespoke table in August 2025 and paid £3,400 in full via bank transfer, with an agreed delivery timeframe of 8–10 weeks.

The table was not delivered and the timeframe was exceeded by several months. Throughout this period, I experienced repeated missed deadlines, unfulfilled assurances, and long gaps in communication.

I was also offered a £200 goodwill refund due to delays, which was never received.

After exhausting all attempts to resolve the matter directly, I issued a formal Letter Before Action and subsequently filed a claim via the small claims court. Judgment has now been issued due to lack of response.

Based on my experience and the lack of engagement even after legal action, I would not recommend using this company.

Ordered our walnut table with resin inlay in October with a promise to deliver on my 60th Birthday on 15th December. Never happened, promised for xmas. Obviously nothing.
He Started a WhatsApp to show progress pictures. Obviously no pictures, wouldn't answer calls.
Excuses for delay - moving house, children ill, dog died, grandmother died, partner went away and took workshop keys. in a meeting so can't answer the phone.
Only got in touch when my husband said send me just one progress picture or we are cancelling. He then messaged when PayPal demanded a refund. Asked my husband not to go ahead with it, his wife was cross with him (it was her account that PayPal paid),delivery promised that week, funnily enough a couple of days over the deadline with PayPal that we had to go ahead with the claim!!
Hubby said that if he had, in fact made the table as he claimed we would pay on delivery , surprise surprise no reply or table.
Money refunded thru PayPal.
He seemed so plausible when we went to his workshop (was it his workshop i wonder??)
Husband has been blocked on his FB page. After this, I assume so will I.

Edit. Strangely, since posting this review, I can no longer get on his FB page!! If only he had put this much effort into making our much longed for table with all the special touches arranged with my husband. We were so excited. He obviously never even started the table. Just one lie after another

I should have checked out Trustpilot before dealing with this company. I now see from here that I’m not the first person that has been messed about by George.

I now believe there was never a table to send to me, this has been purely a cash flow exercise by this man.

I was given one excuse after another, since paying £1700 on 16 January 2026.

There were no issues with communication from him prior to my payment on 16th of January.

As soon as I paid £1700, I have had to chase and chase and chase for communication.
Absolutely appalling.

Excuses have included:
•Getting the kids dinner.
•Bathing the kids.
•Kids wouldn’t sleep.
•Kids had football.
•He was watching Traitors.
•He had a busy weekend.
•He had moved house before Christmas
•He was working on new house
•He had sickness and diarrhoea
•His Grandma was ill
•His Grandma died
•He was extremely unwell
•He was away from home
•He was on his way to a funeral

On 5th February, I was promised a £200 refund for failed delivery - never received.

Delivery 29/30th Jan - failed
Delivery 5th February - failed
Delivery 14th February - failed
Delivery 20th February - failed
Delivery 7th March - order cancelled yesterday as no confirmation.

I have now taken this further to recover money.

I bought work tops of this guy over 5 weeks ago. It took me ages to get the samples after chasing many times. Came up with every excuses under the sun. I got so pissed off I scheduled a time to meet him in his work shop the night before he said he had a berivmeant in the family. I have requested a full refund within 7 days of the request and i still havent received it. He keeps sending me messges sating I will get it paid i promise. This guy is delusional in the head. Do not but anything off him.

I have now been told today on 3.3.26will receive my refund on the 6.3.25 this afternoon the days have changed 3 times in a town. DO NOT BUY FROM HIM.

He has also block my on his Facebook page as I asked on a comment were are my work tops!

I wish we read the reviews before giving this scammer any money whatsoever.
He had a “ready” table, payments didn’t go through via Sumup (clearly because of his issues) and then suddenly when confronted with the reviews/companies house, lots of excuses.
Luckily we’re out just by a few hundreds which hopefully will be recovered through the bank.
Don’t believe anything he says, I don’t know what his problems are, but by the looks of it, there’s many, and of the same nature.
It’s a shame this individual and company is still allowed to seek the next unfortunate victim.

I would have put negative stars if allowed.
George Moore, Wilbraham Wood Design is a complete fraudster.
He has £ 27,741.00 of County Court Judgements against him personally and Wilbraham Wood Design.
I placed an order for a bespoke table in Oct 2025 and after a whole list of excuses we still hadn't received the table.
I visited the Unit in Great Chesterford and George hasn't been working there for months.
I have luckily had a refund of £ 1,500 from our bank as George made false promises to refund us.
DO NOT TOUCH THE COMPANY.
George has replied to my review with statements which are completely untrue. This just shows what a con artist and fraudster he is. I have not contacted any of the reviewers. All the negative reviews are from unsatisfied customers owed thousands of pounds.
Please read all the reviews.

If I could give less than 1 star i would. They have had more than £10k for 2 years and as yet produced absolutely nothing. Endless excuses. Failed to provide even a single photo and I have lost count of the number of times I've been promised "this week". Do not use. Utterly untrustworthy. Next step will be legal

We chose George after seeing beautiful tables on line and paid £2200 upfront beginning of November 2024, being assured our table would arrive for Christmas.
The samples we were promised never arrived and communication was painful. We had numerous excuses why the table wasn't ready after 3 months..then 6 months. His wife had 2 car accidents, his son broke his finger, his daughters operation was moved, the yard was flooded, a tree fell down and he couldn't get up the lane, it was too cold for the resin, it was too hot for the resin, his work buddy left etc. Honestly, my husband ended up threatening George we would drive up to Cambridge to see the yard actually existed and where our table was. It was stressful to say the least. After 10 months, we finally got our table. I have to say it's amazing. Beautiful resin and wood and we're really happy with it.
I told George repeatedly to please keep us updated and that we don't want to hear anymore excuses, and that maybe he needs another person to work solely on communication to customers, texting them with updates ect, or maybe just don't take on so much work all at once. If you know it will take you 8 weeks, stick to a manageable work schedule that keeps everyone happy, rather than having 20 customers all waiting for their table in the same month. George if you take on less work, and focus on keeping customers up to date you will have a great business and less 1 star reviews, because your craftsmanship is amazing.

Really disappointing. Exactly similar excuses as everyone else. George wasted 3 months of my time which led me to cancel the order with the credit card company.
It is a real shame as I really wanted to support local businesses rather than large retailers.
The trouble is that he wasn't able to produce a single piece of evidence for 3 months that he has even started.

I only wish I had looked at more reviews on George Moor?Wilbraham Wood Design prior to handing over £3000.00 for a specially made “ River” table.
When I placed my order with George I was assured that delivery by Christmas wouldn’t be an issue so I went ahead with the order,
As soon as I paid for the table George stopped returning my calls and answering my emails.
As the holidays drew closer it became clearly apparent that the table wasn’t going to be supplied so I contacted George asking for a firm delivery date or a refund, again no reply.
It is now the 8th of January and I still await. A refund or a table.
George comes across as very plausible but is nothing more than a con man, Read the reviews from others who have had the same experience as myself and don’t be taken in by the recent glowing referrals that I doubt are genuine.

George Moore is very plausible and likeable person but an utter story teller and full of excuses and lies. We are currently £3k down so suggest not to use them. if you should pay any money pay fully on credit card for protection

If I could have left 0 stars I would have.
I was promised a pre-Christmas table. I paid upfront (in full) for a partially complete table which I was advised would take ‘a couple of weeks’ to complete in mid- Nov. After 3 weeks, I asked for an update and photos. Nothing. I was given excuse after excuse, including moving home- but still promised it would be ready for the family I was hosting at Christmas.
It was not until I further chased the Sunday before collection on Monday that I was told the legs had not arrived, a day later ‘an accident’ with the resin cracking. I firmly believe I was lied to.
To top this whole saga off, after being offered a refund, I was presented with a fraudulent receipt (incorrect date and amount) and only after continued (daily) persistence and after the threat of legal action did I receive my refund.
I wish I had read the bad reviews over the good.

To say we have been let down by this con man is nothing short of an understatement. Having ordered the table and paid for it 4 months ahead of an agreed delivery date it then took almost another 6 months to secure a delivery. The table arrived unfinished and varnish was promised to complete the job but after endless excuses it has not arrived so it’s been a year since paying for the table and we’ve yet to have use of it. Being fair the table is a piece of art and had it been delivered in time we would have felt we’d made a good choice but the treatment we’ve experienced would cause us to say don’t touch this besides with a barge pole as it’s owner George simply cannot be believed or trusted as he excels at letting you down. We even offered to help him better organise and develop his business but that was spurned even though we had travelled to his premises in an effort to create a personal connection with him, however that failed to get a positive response and we are now left having to varnish our own table. Unbelievably awful customer service .. all we can say is stay away!!

I ordered a bespoke £1,600 dining table from Wilbraham Wood Design and paid a £1,000 deposit on 3 June 2025. I made the order early so I’d have the table well before Christmas. George was helpful at the start and quick to respond, but once the deposit was paid everything changed.

I didn’t chase until 3 August. He replied saying he’d been off because his daughter had an operation. By the end of August I chased again and wished her well. A month later he finally replied saying the ETA was two weeks and that he’d send pictures once the timber was out of the clamps.

By October I had to chase again. He said the table was almost finished and he’d confirm a delivery date after seeing his delivery guy. No update arrived, so I followed up. He said “next week”. Nothing came. When I chased again he said he’d been very unwell but would send pictures and a delivery date the next day. Nothing.

By the end of October he told me delivery would be a week on Saturday and that Michael would assemble it for me. Again, nothing arrived. Weeks later he said his daughter had been ill, then his son had been injured, and that he needed one more week. I was still sympathetic and thanked him, even though my patience was wearing thin.

A week later I chased again. This time his son had suspected appendicitis. He said he couldn’t dispatch the table and offered a refund if I couldn’t wait a couple more days. I made it clear that if the table couldn’t be delivered by 27 November, I needed a full refund.

By the end of November I asked where the table or refund was. He told me it had already been refunded to my card and that it would take up to five working days. He also blamed me for “cancelling the order”, even though he’d failed to deliver for months. When I pushed back, he said he’d had “a pretty shit time”, claimed I’d wasted his time, and that I’d left him out of pocket for materials.

It’s now 8 December. No table. No refund in my bank. At this point I do not believe any refund was ever issued. I’ve been patient and understanding for six months, but the excuses, contradictions and rudeness have been constant.

He still has £1,000 of my money and I still don’t have a dining table for my young family before Christmas.

This has been a stressful and disappointing experience from start to finish. Avoid at all costs.

I commissioned a custom walnut desk for my home office, and I can honestly say it has changed how I feel about working from home. George worked with me to get the measurements perfect for the space, recommended leg designs that balanced strength and style, and took real care in choosing a piece of wood with naturally beautiful grain. The finish is silky smooth but still feels natural not overly lacquered or plastic like cheaper furniture often does. It's rare to find someone so passionate about the materials they work with and it really shows in the final result. I couldn't be happier.

Bespoke craftsmanship at its finest. If you want furniture that feels personal, meaningful and built to last for decades, this is exactly where you need to go. Could not recommend Wilbraham Wood Design more highly

Now that the table is in our home, it has become the focal point of the entire room. Guests actually stop mid-sentence when they see it. It's a piece that invites conversation, appreciation and pride. If you want something unique, meaningful and built to last a lifetime, Wilbraham Wood Design is the place to go.

George invited us to choose from several slabs and explained the character of each one, how they were cut how the grain would likely look once finished and how the resin would highlight the natural patterns. It was fascinating to learn how many tiny decisions go into making something feel balanced and beautiful. The resin colour was mixed specifically for us, and the final tone is unbelievably rich, with movement and depth that you simply don't see in showroom furniture.

We ordered a large green resin river table with burr oak, and the entire experience with Wilbraham Wood Design has been exceptional from start to finish. What impressed us most was the level of care and skill that goes into the work, this is not mass production, it is thoughtful, precise craftsmanship guided by deep respect for the material.

This guy who comes across as really pleasant and very amiable , is a total scam artist.
I paid in full for my coffee table and dining table at the beginning of July 2025. I paid on AMEX (thank goodness)
George was very pleasant in the initial planning and consultation and appeared to know his stuff. The pictures he has on his website of his work are beautiful and I wanted a bit of that in my dining area. However, once he had my money , communication reduced to a trickle and was always initiated by me.
Resin samples were supposed to have been posted by mid July , in September. I eventually got them.
Still hopeful that I would receive these tables I continued to try and make this arrangement work, contacting George frequently. He often didn’t even acknowledge phone calls or messages and left me to chase these up several times.
I asked him a number of times if he needed to back out because he had taken on too much work, if so, he could just send me a refund and I would find another table supplier.
He kept insisting that the tables would be ready in a couple of weeks. It is now the end of November and I still don’t have any tables.
AMEX has a 120 day policy where you can raise a complaint. I did this with four days spare. I provided evidence to AMEX of text messages where George cited excuse after excuse for failing to deliver on his promise.
AMEX refunded me the full amount onto my card without question within two weeks.
I suspect this is not the first time this has happened with George.
When we first were in consultation with George the reviews on trust pilot were excellent, it was only a couple of months later when I started to see these poor reviews starting to come through, and boy are they still coming through!
Save yourself a lot of heartache , a lot of anxiety and a lot of unnecessary pressure and avoid this clearly talented carpenter who has very poor communication skills and needs to his administration game.
Do not pay him all of your money upfront if you still decide to go with George and make sure you pay something on a credit card so you are protected , should your order not be delivered.
