Good booking process and confirmed the booking quickly. Pick up/drop off location was friendly in Ringwood. Good quality car and comfortable to sleep in for a few nights away.

Vehicle was as advertised and reliable for our trip through middle of Australia. Mattresses in roof top tents were very thin suggest taking extra self inflating mat or similar for some extra padding. Chairs it came with were worn and falling apart we upgraded with a quick stop at Kmart before leaving Alice. Overall amazing experience good customer service and value for money would recommend to families!

They were great, I did have a busted door which was annoying but the guy was lovely.

The ease of booking was incredible, customer support was consistently rapid often replying within 10 minutes whenever I had a question. Ease of vehicle pickup and drop off was easy and rapid.
The van was comfortable and came equipped with everything needed for a great trip.

When I arrived to collect to the van, it was discovered the air con didn’t work, the head unit didn’t function, and that the hatch wouldn’t open from the inside. The “security feature” as it was sold to me, meant I would have to climb through the back, reach over and pull a cable tie to unlock the back hatch. Thankfully I realised all of these things and I was provided with another van at the same price of the original van I booked, a $500 discount. During my two weeks I needed to pump the rear left hand tyre up 5 times as it was slowly leaking around 10 pounds every 3 days. When I collected the van, I drove 8 and a half hours to Karratha from Broome. The next morning I checked the tyre pressure at it only had 12 pounds in it. I was fortunate to not have peeled the tyre off the rim causing an accident!! Apart from that, the Toyota Aeros drove well, had good fuel economy and was comfortable to sleep in.

WOW what a holiday, all made possible by Wicked Campers 4*4 Desert Sands. We are a family of 5 who hired the car to drive the Mereenie Loop in NT, and its not an understatement to say it just wouldnt have been possible without this car.
The car was clean, reliable and comfortable. We had a boys tent, 2 kids 15 & 10 + Dad, and a girls tent, 13yo and Mum. For a week it was perfectly acceptable. The setup took less than 5 mins... pack up slightly longer as you do have to remove pillows/sleeping bag to bring the tents down.
The portable stoves, fridge, untensils, chairs and tables meant you could literally drive into a campsite and be cooking within minutes.
There were a few times at the beginning where I wanted to check a few things and very easy to speak to someone in sales, or roadside assistance so always felt well supported.

We rented a van in Cairns but the day of the pick up we were given a different one (a better one with no surcharge). We could contact the owner via WhatsApp and he would reply quickly. It’s the second time that I rent with Wicked and everything went well.

The van looks awesome, really unique looking from the outside. It was a lot comfier inside than we expected and had lots of storage compartments which was handy. The kitchen/back of the van was also really well put together. We had a hand pump sink, gas stove and a cooler box. I would highly recommend Wicked Campers, especially if you are looking for good value for money.

Hired a camper for a road trip through the NT. Had a minor problem with the vehicle, but got support from a super helpful mechanic who got me back on the road fast so well done. The return process was a little loose, no inspection, documentation or sign off that the vehicle was returned in good order so I got it washed and took my own pics so I have a record. The vehicle return process could use some work.

Great, hassle free experience. Van fully equipped and no issues. Would recommend.

Easy to book and deal with, for example when we wanted to extend our van for one night.
The van was easy to drive and good set up. It was quite old though and you could tell it’s been through a few things.

I had a great two week visiting Cairns and Surrounds. The Mystery Machine, although a little rough around the edges ran smoothly, was comfortable and had all the bits and pieces I needed to make my travels enjoyable. I will be back to hire from the Wicked Campers team.

We knew Wicked Campers was the budget option, but unfortunately, our experience left us disappointed.
First, the positive: the receptionist at the Cairns office was absolutely lovely. She was welcoming, friendly, and helpful, truly a 5/5 experience from her.
The van itself, however, was another story. We don’t mind renting an older vehicle as long as it’s safe and functional, but the condition was poor. The mattress was an extremely thin red leather one (not ideal for the tropical heat) and more importantly, the van had clearly not been cleaned after the previous renter. We found rubbish in the drawers, under the seats and bed, and even leftover clothes. Each time we opened the side door or trunk, cockroaches scattered, which was unsettling and suggested a bigger pest problem at the depot.
Mechanically, the van didn’t inspire much confidence either. On the first drive we noticed an unusual noise from the back; when we raised it with the mechanic, we were brushed off with a dismissive “it’s just the muffler.” Later, the engine light came on, and though the insurance company and WC customer service reassured us it wasn’t urgent, it’s not exactly the kind of thing you want to see at the start of a road trip. By the end of the trip, the engine brake was also making concerning noises downhill.
In the end, we were relieved the van held together long enough to get us back safely, but the lack of cleanliness, the pests, and the dismissive attitude toward our concerns made the experience stressful rather than carefree. We still enjoyed our holiday, but we wouldn’t rent with Wicked again.

Great looking van for the road trip! Real head turner. We started our trip in Hobart and travelled around for couple of days.
Comfy van to drive. The pick up was very good, the person at the depot explained everything very well and where things were stored when camping.
The van came with a single portable gas stove, couple of camping chairs, cooking utensils, ic box to store cold items, cutlery and all essentials for cooking. The van had heaps of storage space to store our travel luggage.
Little heavy on fuel as it was a petrol automatic, a diesel van would be great for fuel economy especially when travelling long distances. And a power plug to van would be ideal then you can plug electricity to the van when camping on powered sites. Great van for unpowered camping sites as everything can be off grid.
