Whisperlabs exceeded our expectations
Ali absolutely killed it on this project.
I hired Ali to rebuild and modernize my TEFL training platform, and the finished result went far beyond simply making the website look better. This was a substantial technical rebuild involving the course platform, student progression, assessments, database/backend functionality, deployment, and a number of issues that had accumulated in the previous version of the system.
From the beginning, Ali took the time to understand what the platform actually needed to do rather than simply treating it as a cosmetic website project. The old system had legacy components and different pieces that were not communicating as cleanly as they should have been. Ali worked through those issues and delivered a much more cohesive platform.
One of the biggest improvements was the student learning and assessment workflow. The platform now properly handles module progression instead of relying on simple URL access. Students have to complete the required Knowledge Check and written assessment before progressing to the next module, and students who had already completed modules were not unnecessarily forced to start over. That kind of attention to existing student progress was extremely important to me.
The AI writing assessment was another major accomplishment. Students can submit their written Module Exam responses and receive an automated assessment within seconds. The system evaluates their writing, provides an overall score, determines whether they passed or need revision, and provides feedback covering grammar, punctuation, vocabulary, sentence structure, organization, and suggested improvements. Students who don't pass can revise and resubmit, with each attempt being retained. The system also protects the student's submission if the AI service is temporarily unavailable, allowing the review to be retried without forcing the student to rewrite everything.
Importantly, the assessment isn't simply relying on the browser to decide whether someone passed. The scoring and progression logic are handled on the backend, which prevents students from manipulating their results. That is exactly the kind of implementation I wanted for a real educational platform rather than a superficial AI feature.
Ali also handled the marketing-related changes based on the feedback and requirements provided to him. This was important because I wasn't looking for another temporary patch. I needed the platform rebuilt into something I could actually use, market, and scale.
What impressed me most was Ali's willingness to work through the difficult technical parts rather than avoiding them. When you're rebuilding an existing platform, there are always legacy issues, unexpected dependencies, and things that aren't obvious from the outside. Ali was able to navigate those problems and produce a working system.
The final result is a much more professional and scalable foundation for Vanguard TEFL. I now have a platform that is designed around the actual student experience rather than a collection of disconnected pieces.
Communication and responsiveness were also good throughout the project, and I appreciated that Ali was willing to take ownership of the technical side rather than requiring me to understand every piece of the architecture myself. As a business owner, that's exactly what I need from a developer.
I've worked with developers before, and there's a big difference between someone who can make a requested change and someone who can actually take ownership of a complicated rebuild. Ali demonstrated the latter.
The AI assessment, student progression controls, assessment storage, resubmission workflow, existing-student progress preservation, access controls, and marketing-related improvements together represent a significant amount of work.
Most importantly, he delivered something that I can actually build my business around.
Vanguard TEFL is now in a much stronger position technically than it was before this project. The platform feels like a real product rather than a website that happens to contain a course.
I would absolutely recommend Ali to anyone looking for a developer who can handle a complex rebuild, work through legacy systems, and deliver functional solutions rather than just surface-level changes.
Excellent work, Ali. You absolutely knocked this one out of the park.
