Sometimes the picture in picture works and sometimes don´t. Many of my patients i see on videocalls can not activate the camera. We usually have to go to another videocall service.

It crashed and did not work on paid plan. Customer service was appalling. I was refused a refund for something that did not work and hijacked my business meeting on multiple occasions. I have used this website for years (before it was rebranded to whereby).
On a free plan whenever I wanted to switch to a bigger room (from 2 people to more) it would always kick us out. I hoped on a paid plan it would be smooth but it just keeps kicking everyone out again nad again and crashing anyways.
I was told it's my connection or browsers that I use but it has always worked fine on all devices.
Once switched to pro, it stopped functioning well, the screen would suddenly freeze, sharing screen option would just crash and kick everyone out.
I can't allow this to happen to my future meetings.
I'm very upset about the outcome.
I specifically said I am a small biz owner with limited resources (time & money) and I have to make decisions that are best for me right now. I can't help troubleshoot this and I would like a refund for something that did not work for me.
If it works for most of your customers and I am a rare case why not refund and let someone go?
The customer service kept asking for more and more of my time and only offered credit for a service I explicitly said I was NO LONGER interested in using. I don't have time to sit on a chat and troubleshoot your website.
Switched to a competitor that works without a fail and I am happy with my subscription there.
I am aware that this is a bit emotional review but I am really upset by how I was treated. I will never consider coming back and I rarely take time to leave negative reviews unless I got scammed or treated unfairly and warning others in a similar position is the right thing to do.
This experience makes me really sad because for years I have sung praises about this company only to be told 'computer says no' kind of answer. I would have been open to consider coming back at some point in future (when the service improves and I am in a different place with my biz) but not after how this was handled.
Please don't use it if you are a small biz owner and need something reliable.

When I logged into my account to stop subscription during a demo period, the subscription page said that I was on a free plan. Still I was charged $45. Apparently, they hide the page where you can actually stop the subscription deep down in some sub-menu. I could never find it, but (hopefully) managed to stop it per mail. But, unfornuately, after they stole my $45.

I've been using Whereby for a few years now. It's the easiest way to jump into a quick meeting regardless of which device or platform or OS anyone's using. It's as easy as jumping on a website with my custom URL. I'm not a paying customer as I don't need the extra features, but I appreciate the team so much for keeping Whereby free. Thank you!
A lovely product and service. Very satisfied from day one. It's a singular focus - making great video calls easy. That is what it does. And that is fantastic.
Easy to use, great integrations, and my clients finds it easy to use - in fact I've stopped asking how it works out for my clients, because the answer is always the same. It just works. And that is the way you know it's good for video calls - when it's just there without having any barriers or technicalities you have to figure out. It's just like showing up in real life.

I am dissatisfied with Whereby. I have reached out multiple times regarding the fact they keep billing me, yet when i log into my account it says the account is free so there is no option to cancel it. I was just billed again, and each time i reach out i get zero reply back. Not sure what is going on and their customer service is non-responsive

If you enjoy laggy videos, disconnections, and upset clients then this is definitely the tool for you.
They spent more money and resources on making the UI look pretty then the actual technology.
I have used whereby for hundreds of meetings with large and small groups. I highly recommend it to anyone for the great branding options, security, simplicity, and its reliability.
Whereby was so helpful throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Communicating with the work team. Quickly and conveniently. It's a pity that only 4 people could participate in the free version of the conversation, but these are little things. Other than that, no negative comments. I recommend it!

it is truly a nice and good product. I appreciate that it is European and not US based, however, it lacks quite a few features friendly competitors have included and pricing is on the high end
I love Whereby and have found it an excellent platform for group meetings. One of the plus points over other competitors, is that participants can talk at the same time and there is no time lapse, even with different time zones. I also love the fact that you can create your own background, rather than using computerised backdrops.

I teach people who don't have access to desktops or laptops but used this site with few issues and great results. I teach Esol so the level of English varies but everyone managed to set up and participate in the online lessons.
We've used whereby as a teaching tool throughout the lockdown. It has been quick and easy for students to access for group and individual tutorials with minimal technical issues.

Whereby is great in that provides an easy alternative to the dominant video conference services which steal privacy and engage in unfair business practices. It still struggles a bit with 'playing nicely' on browsers like Safari and, apparently, Explorer. For instance, I invited a professional contact to a whereby.com meeting, and his business requires him to use only Explorer on his work machine. We ended up retreating to Skype, b/c he was becoming frustrated with the interface with Whereby. I have had similar problems on Safari myself, so now always open it in Firefox. I also wish that Whereby would allow an (optional) tracker of conversation had on the site. When I used to use skype as my primary comms tool, I used it to track my time with different clients. Still, I appreciate this affordable and alternative tool. And hope it continues to improve.
