Definitely recommend WHC

I've used WHC to host my website since 2017. The first few years were a bit of a struggle. But for the past 5 years, the attention to detail, the rapid response and the genuinely helpful staff have really turned the webhosting experience to a positive one for me. It really took a concerted effort to turn my experience positive, but I have to give credit where credit is due. WHC did it. And they have been On Top of the hosting process for many years now, doing a great job.

Another excellent set of support calls with WHC!

I recently bought a web hosting plan and copied my club's website over from my former webhost. There are a number of details I've never done before related to creating a second account with WHC, transferring the web hosting product to the new account, transferring the domain name from the current registrar, making my new web hosting plan known by the domain name, and adjusting the DNS entries to point to my new web site. (And another half dozen related details.) WHC support staff patiently helped me work through all these steps.

If only all companies had support like WHC there would be a lot less frustration in the world! Kudos to WHC.

I was not able to do outgoing emails…

I was not able to do outgoing emails from my phone or computer. Crisis. Sophia M from WHC stayed with me for almost two hours (!) to see me through on both devices - everything was back to normal by the end of the call, and she stayed with me to ensure that it continued working. She deserves a 6-star rating!!

Absolute terrible customer service

Absolute terrible customer service. Left a sour taste in my mouth. I couldn’t recommend them less. You’re far better off going to their competitors, and it’s frequently less expensive. Such a sad reality for a Canadian business. Shame on you.

They made the hard stuff work!

Webstuff is always hard if you aren't well versed in DNS and such, but the folks at WHC support are amazingly responsive. It was easy to get a human to help, and my issues were resolved quickly by friendly and professional agents. Thank you for being an awesome Canadian company I am proud to have made the switch!

WHC is very difficult.

I found WHC to be very difficult to deal with. I finally had to move my domain to another hosting service. Once initiated, I sent all mail from WHC to trash. In a move pf petty vindictiveness, WHC added a small charge to my billing (after I initiated the process to move), then added a 5000% penalty to the charge. During the process, I wanted, and could not find out how to close my account. AI advises that one has to write to them to ask permission to close one's account. I plan to write to them, indeed.

To clarify, the small charge you’re referring to was a $0.10 prorated amount related to domain protection, which was automatically generated by our system. When it wasn’t paid, our system automatically applied a flat late fee of $5.

That said, as soon as this was brought to our attention, the invoice was cancelled, no payment was taken, and your account has since been closed, as requested.
