That you are working to give remote workers is itself commendable. Every week, I have found some opportunities to consider and one or two to apply to. But I have one complaint: ProwriterSites. The... See more

Outstanding Service
Jacob was swift to respond to my concerns and was happy to assist with my billing issue. Other companies in the past have not been so helpful. This exchange was refreshing. I highly recommend the service!

Scam subscription model
This subscription model feels like a complete scam. You’re locked into a 12-month subscription, and even if you cancel, you’re still charged for the entire period. There’s no real way to test whether the service is actually useful before committing. You could find a job within a month and still be forced to pay for the remaining time. It’s honestly absurd.

This is a scam
This is a scam. All software job postings are senior-level and above. Subscription locks you into a 12-month period with no early cancellation option, even if you find a job. Free job boards like LinkedIn and Indeed have more postings.

Misleading pricing scheme
They said it's a monthly subscription, but after the first payment, they lock you in on a yearly plan, "paid monthly" that you can't cancel until they charge you the whole year. I tried reaching out to support, but they won't answer my emails, so I will report this as fraud to my payment provider.

Not Truly Monthly – Hidden 12-Month Commitment
I signed up for what was advertised as a $2.95 first month job seeker subscription. However, after using the site for two days, I don't like it and don't see the value so wish to stop my subscription. Upon trying to cancel, I discovered that the plan is a 12-month commitment billed at $14.95 per month!!
Although the site states that I can cancel, I am still being charged for the full 12-month term - this is absurd. This was not clearly disclosed at the time of sign-up.
This is extremely misleading and lacks professional transparency, as customers are led to believe they are signing up for a flexible monthly plan, when in reality We Work Remotely is trying to be sneaky and lock people into a long-term commitment.
I have cancelled my subscription, submitted an email to customer service but have not received any response.
Overall, this experience reflects a lack of transparency in billing practices and poor customer support.

Big Scam
I had cancelled my job seeker subscription, but I was still billed afterward. I also tried raising a dispute, however I have not received any response so far.
The platform advertises a $2.95 monthly subscription, but in reality, it turns out to be a yearly commitment billed at $14.99 every month. While the plan is labeled as “monthly,” after signing up, you realize you’ve been locked into a 12-month contract. This is not clearly disclosed and lacks transparency.
I have also reached out to customer support via email but have not received any response.
A membership labeled as monthly should not bind users to a full-year commitment without clear communication. Additionally, many job listings appear repetitive, and despite claiming to offer opportunities “anywhere in the world,” most roles are limited to the US and Canada.

Signed up for a monthly contract. Now it says I’ll be billed every month for 12 months. Extremely scummy.

Dark patterns on signup
Found a position for a role. Was on the above site. I clicked to apply and was sent to a sign up screen. I signed up and was channelled to a profile setup, which I started. Then I reached the $170 a year subscription, with no way of escaping to the supposed free tier.

SCAMMERS
I had cancelled my subscription as a job seeker but i still got billed. I have tried raising a dispute but i have not gotten a response from them. They promote 2.95 monthly subscription, which is actually a yearly subscription and will bill you monthly 14.99 every month. It labels its membership as “monthly”, yet after signing up you discover you’ve been locked into a 12-month contract. This is not clearly disclosed, and they are not transparent about it. I have also emailed customer support but they have not emailed me back. A membership labeled monthly should not secretly bind you for a year. And many jobs are repeated.
