We're Westin Gourmet and we love meat! We're proud to be British and of British meat (we have some very clever farmers living here you know..)

Many moons ago (well 28 years) we began supplying top-posh restaurants in and around London. With a lot of graft (chefs can be very demanding) we were able to consistently deliver great products and service, building our brand.

So here we are today..All our work; building relationships, searching high and low for wonderful, delish goodies has paid off and we thought it was about time we shared some of our treasure with you.

Fancy dabbling with some of Britain's finest? Or are you still drooling over that steak you had while on your jollies abroad (think USA, Australia)? We have a cracking selection of beef produce which hails from right around the world.

And do you want some more good news? The range is only going to get bigger! But we just don't do beef, team that with scrummy pork, lamb, chicken, turkey...(the list just goes on) and you can't go wrong.

Continued cold calling texts messages!!!

Dreadful meat packages and awful customer service. I have not ordered from this company for over a year and continually receive special offer texts messages despite repeatedly asking to be removed from their mailings. If I text back stop it makes no difference whatsoever andbit costs me money to do this! Steer clear at all costs.

No more supermarket meat!

This was my second order, lovely meat, everything very flavoursome and tender, just like meat should be! Shortly putting in my third order.... Oh and the meaty sausages were gorgeous!

Pretty Cool Customer Service

Where to begin, I'm a student at a University therefore I live in student halls, I made an order with Westin Gourmet for the Ribeye Steak hamper. I was expecting the delivery to be on a Thursday but the delivery company couldn't deliver it because they couldn't access the door to the halls, I had given them my contact number hoping they would call me to come down to receive the delivery but they didn't although they did give me a time slot of the delivery to arrive, but because they couldn't access the door I found their delivery info card on the floor by the door which is really unprofessional. I asked customer service on advice through twitter because I feel their actual customer service through email would take far too long and within an hour they got back to me gave me a number to call to arrange for a redelivery, So I called up the delivery company to redelivery for the next day, this time I was prepared to wait downstairs at the door for the hour they would tell me of the time slot of the redelivery, however this time they never notified me off the time, they just attempted redelivery but I didn't know when,but I was notified that the delivery was attempted and failed. This was a Friday and since the delivery company doesn't deliver during the weekends I feel the food would go bad by the time I could get the package at the earliest of Monday, so I asked customer service through Twitter again and again they got back to me within an hour and said that the delivery company was useless so I giggled, and they said they're going to send a new batch for me to arrive as soon as possible after the weekend, got my food the following Wednesday after I changed my delivery address to a neighbouring building. After all that I can say it was worth the wait, the packaging was good although one of the bags had burst. The steaks were nice and tender. But huge shout out to the Twitter customer service, whoever you are, you have my Thanks.

Bad customer service after a week of backwards and forwards with wowcher.

I ordered the 50 piece meat hamper from wowcher and Westin gourmet.

I redeemed as instructed but heard nothing.

I chased with Wowcher and was told to talk to Westin Gourmet directly. When I did they told me I hadn't clicked the link. I informed wowcher of this and explained I hadn't got a link, they agreed that was wrong and it was Westin Gourmets fault. However, Westin Gourmet told me no it was mine and wowchers.

Then 3 days later I was still chasing and still being told one thing by one company and one by another.

I then had Westin Gourmets head office and the lady I was talking to there say it was wowchers fault, they have instructed them to offer me a refund and they will send a hamper by way of apology. BUT wowcher never saw this email according to them.

I was given a wallet credit and told that the order would go out. BUT less than 2hrs later Westin Gourmet emailed to say Wowcher had advised them I cancelled the order. Another call to wowcher and they said they hadn't done such a thing. Westin Gourmet emailed me what they had sent.

Come today, the order was cancelled, my wowcher credit taken, no complimentary hamper and then told they would refund. BUT no one could explain what or why it had happened. So again I called and complained. Basically fobbed off and told that the email Westin Gourmet received wasn't there format and couldn't have been them. When I asked them to call Westin Gourmet about this and then a manager phone me back, they refused as "the case is closed you are being refunded."

That was it. Wowcher credit taken back, no complimentary hamper, no apology, no explanation and no call ever from Head Office.

Loving the Meat Fest

For anyone having the craving for some Ribeye's - their Hamper is awesome. South American Ribeye's were amazing!!

Ordering - Easy: Pick, review, pay and confirm.
Delivery - on Time and accurate.
Packaging - was still fresh and cold on delivery, all items well packaged.
Food Quality - 5 Stars
Overall Experience - 5 stars.

Terrible customer service

I ordered an Xmas delivery of meat and veg. It arrived when it was supposed to but while unpacking we noticed the poor quality of the veg. It was black and mouldy in places and unfit for consumption.

I've tried 5 times now to email support and they haven't bothered to reply.

Seeing as the only way to complain is via email I would advise people to stay clear of this company.

I wouldn't recommend Westin Gourmet to anyone

Ordered a selection of different steaks to try with Westin. We didn't get off to a good start because 1 type of steak didn't arrive. I was however quickly refunded and a small voucher was given for my next order. I was completely happy with this as these things do happen.
Went it comes to the product however I am somewhat disappointed.some very typical butcher tricks to make meat go further. Large bits of fat on the out edge of steaks (nearly 50g taken of 2 steaks by me) which should be butchered out. Badly butchered steaks in general. The steaks were OK in flavour, marginally better than supermarket rump in flavour but at least I can see what I'm getting when I buy it from there. Despite my voucher, I'm not sure I will order again.

Appalling customer service

It's not often I feel the need to review, but I have to say the customer service Is absolutely awful. They don't answer, indicate 'head office' will be in touch and don't provide info when asked. I would not order from this company again. They are also still taking money from my account after being asked to cancel a direct debit.

Best Meat

I have tried several butchers both local and online. The meat and fish from Westin is great. Tender flavourful and delicious. Difficult to beat the weekly deals both on quality or price.

Westin Gourmet Fillet Steaks

The fillet steaks, that come in 2 sizes in packs of 2, are a very good price and even better when they are on a special offer. They come in vacuum packs in a cooled bag that has frozen bags in to keep them cool for 3 days!
Westin Gourmet text you a window time it is being delivered on the day you have set, and if you are out, they text you when it has been delivered. The steaks are always excellent and only had one problem with a cooling bag with no ice, but this was resolved very quickly.

Lamb

We bought lamb shanks a rack of lamb and rump steak. Lamb shanks is my signature dish, never would I buy from here again, big does not mean better, far too long to cook for tender and it still did not fall away from the bone. The rack of lamb we ate tonight.....................we needed a steak knife it was so tough and incredibly tasteless, tough, gristely, so much fat, this has to be the worse we have ever eaten. I CAN COOK! Go to Donald Russell, there meat is so much better. We also bought rump steak, this was cooked in red wine for about 4 hours, we have no complaint about that, just took longer than normal. Delivery was good, would rather have bad delivery and good meat. This was our first time buying. NEVER AGAIN!

Be selective

Have ordered steaks in the past and they have been excellent but just ordered lamb shanks and they are tough as leather despite being cooked twice. Will not be ordering again.

BAD PACKAGING AND BACON PREVIOUSLY FROZEN

I have used this company for a while now and have never had a problem until now and I am totally disappointment with what I discovered on my order. For the first time I ordered cooked meat. To my horror this was packaged alongside the raw meat and not separated to avoid cross contamination. I ordered the 5 packs of bacon for £4.95 and upon delivery one packet had the words "defrosted back bacon" All packets had only a one week date of use that was use by 31st March and could not be frozen again if defrosted. I contacted Westin Gourmet and the response I got was:

1. "I am very sorry for this, I will pass on to our packing team
2. I am so sorry, this should have been have been advertised as such.

I asked to clarify if all the bacon had been previously frozen and was told " If they have a label on then they have been if they haven't then they haven't been"

The response does not fill me with confidence and am not sure if I will order again from this company.

I have been refunded for both the bacon and the cooked ham.

Quality, Quality, Quality

I have only been using Westin Gourmet for a short time but I have found the food to be of excellent quality. The despatch and delivery times are very quick and communication superb. Even Aldi, which has great quality meat, struggles to match on price. I use Westin when they have special offers or when I'm planning a dinner party, not every week and I would certainly recommend them to my carnivore friends.

Superb steaks with hassle-free delivery

I have tried most of the available steaks with my favourite being the rib-eye.
The meat is very tender and excellent value when you take up the special offers. The no hassle delivery service is the 'icing on the cake'.

Very Disappointed

Food packaging inadequate - very nervous to eat chicken or pork due to lack of freezer packs. Poor quality of meat - minute steaks as tough as old boots more like stewing steak than a minute steak - inedible so decided to cook the Sirloin Steaks - equally disappointing - full of gristle!!

Pork tenderloin should of been 400g - looked extremely small so I weighed it and it was 246g - extremely concerned that paid for 400g and was given nearly half the amount.

Contacted company (by email as you cant phone) that took another 24 hours for a response was told not to eat the meat and a new box would be forwarded to me with additional extras.

Advised of a date when the new box of meat would arrive - no box showed up - contacted the company again - another 48 hours for response. Still no box !!! - Asked for refund which arrived back into my account 7 days later.

All in all a disappointing and long drawn out process !! The meat was no better than your average supermarket which should have been better. Need to employ people who know about cuts of meat and how to cut and prepare the meat.

I wouldn't use again there are far better butchers out there for the same price. Ordering is easy but if it all goes horribly wrong is a long drawn out process.
