I had to do my ILR (settlement) application and extension for my wife. My ILR application had a few issues related to the Covid Concession period affecting my qualifying period.

I had a deeply unpleasant and disappointing experience at Wembley Solicitors, especially with someone named Khalid Khokhar. I walked in with a genuine visa-related query — my current visa is expiring on 7th August 2025, and I needed to know if there were any options available for me to stay legally in the UK.

After explaining my situation to the front desk, one staff member casually told me there weren’t many options. Another said I’d need to speak to Khalid for proper advice — but only after paying £72 (60 + 12 VAT). No one gave me any idea that the so-called “consultation” would last less than 1 minute or offer no help whatsoever.

Khalid showed up after about 10 minutes. He asked me my name and which visa I was on, and within 30 seconds, he bluntly said “No options, only Skilled Worker Visa,” — something I already knew. That was the entire consultation. No questions, no discussion, no advice.

I tried to ask about business visa, self-sponsorship, or if he knew any agents — again, he just said “No, sorry.” It was clear he knew from the beginning that he had nothing to offer. So why take £72 from someone seeking help?

No receipt, no paperwork — only my bank transaction proves I paid. I felt cheated and completely let down.

This isn’t legal guidance — it’s taking money from desperate people without providing even basic service. If you’re on a PSW visa or looking for sponsorship guidance, avoid this place. You’ll get the same answer for free elsewhere: “No options, sorry.”

This was not professional. It felt like a cold, calculated transaction. I left confused, frustrated, and genuinely shocked.

Pros:
+ Great team that's super helpful (Ms Bahaar and the owner Mr Khalid).
+ Not expensive compared to some lawfirms for a citizenship application
+ Communicated clearly about a complex application with specific nuances in our case.

Cons:
- Small (unimportant) errors in the docs, that were rectified before submission by their team.

I rang to make an appointment to get forms certified.
I was told to attend straight away which I did.
I got there in 15 minutes only to be told that the solicitor had gone & they weren't sure if he would be coming back.
They didn't even apologise for the inconvenience.
The said I should find another solicitor a few doors down.
So unprofessional!

NEVER AND EVER TRUST THIS COMPANY
The lawyer doesn't have enough information and experience and he is not updated about new immigration regulations. I trust them and I paid all the money in advance, and they took signature that the money is not refundable. Several times the lawyer made mistake and I checked with the home office website, and I told him you are providing the wrong information.
At the initial step, they released that even I cannot even apply for the visa. So, they said because you singed, we will not give any amount of money back.

Seems to be a good place. Though outside my price range. Had problems with SkyBet a while ago.
