WELLS FARGO, SUCKS ! BANK ELSEWHERE

Okay.I deposited a large check at the wells fargo branch in Ronkonkoma in new york.on 03/24/2026. This was a settlement check for a lawsuit. It was drawn on chase manhattan bank locally. I was advised by the very nice teller that all the funds would be available on 03/25. The receipt shows that the funds would be all available on 03/25. So naturally, I was very happy.I had decided to take advantage of this pay some bills and do some good period. Well to my surprise the funds we're not available. I called Wells Fargo this morning. To inquire date for me, that deposit was split with a small amount available on 03/26 and the ballads on april 02. Why was I not informed of this when I was at the branch? This receipt says one thing at the seemingly nice phone representative, says another she tried to defend the bank's actions, but we all know that this is incorrect. Is really sleazy of a bank as large as Wells Fargo to do something like this? If at the branch, I was advised that this would happen, I would have went to my federal credit union, but since the branch was right near the lawyer's office, it made Logical sense to go there. I will be complaining to New York State banking commission. Because this is not acceptable. I will have returned bill pays and other inconveniences because of their gross negligencefor\n Me no wonder they are always seemingly being sued for Poor customer service , I am very disappointed in wells fargo

Wells Fargo does not have your back

Wells Fargo does not have your back. 17 years of flawless banking and an 800 plus credit score and they threw me under the stage. Fraudsters took 7,000 off two credit lines and Well’s own investigation showed IP addresses outside the country and yet they demanded the money from me and reported me as delinquent to the credit bureaus. No choice I had to pay and happily moved to a new bank. DO NOT BANK HERE THEY ARE RUTHLESS AND ROBOTIC IN A DISPUTE!

Wells fargo will side with the Crook

I had an insurance policy for my vehicle. I agreed with the company that I would them 214.20 per month. In the month of February the insurance company changed my rate without my knowledge or permission and charged me 631. I called wells fargo and told them I didn't agree with that deduction. They reversed the overage and told me they were going to investigate. I sent in the paperwork and they told me I did't have proof that I didn't agree to that amount because Progressive put that amount in. I've been with them for over 30 years and this is not their usual service. My back account is in the negative because they sent the payment. This is just like what I've been seeing on the News, Wells Fargo doesn't care about their customers. I suggest that you not open an account or back with them. Thirty years in and this is the thanks I get.

$4,000.00 deposit $4.00 credited!!!

I deposited a $4,000.00 check from one of my bank accounts into my Wells Fargo checking account via their ATM, but I was only credited $4.00. I asked the branch manager to correct this obvious error, but he said he was unable to do so. I then called customer service and filed a claim, and I was told I would receive a response within 10 business days. This is the second time this has happened at this branch, and as a result, I am closing my account.

Intentionally Deceitful

Wells Fargo earns money by charging overdraft fees that compound on top of each other. If you have a $20 charge that you can't quite cover, they will charge a $35 overdraft fee. Then you have a $15 charge come through that would would "normally" be able to cover, however you are now negative from the first overdraft and they charge you another $35, and so on. The overdraft fees continually build on each other. This should be illegal, in my view, but somehow is baked into their "terms and conditions".

Avoid this branch.

Avoid this branch.

I’ve been a Wells Fargo customer for over 15 years with a spotless record—no bounced checks, no fraud, no issues—and this is by far the worst banking experience I’ve ever had.

I deposited a cashier’s check from a long-time, reputable client. At the branch, I was kept waiting for over 30 minutes only to be told the check “might not be valid,” with no real explanation. I then deposited it via mobile—funds became available immediately.

I tried to withdraw $600 (money that was already in my account before the deposit) and was refused.

The next day, the check fully cleared.

Days later, with over $12,000 in my account, I returned to withdraw my money—and was STILL denied. The explanation? “There could still be an issue with the check.” This is after it had already cleared.

It gets worse.

I spoke directly with the branch manager, who was dismissive and unprofessional, and continued to insist the check was “no good” despite it clearing days earlier. She ultimately told me that I would not be able to access my money at her branch.

Let that sink in: a bank refusing to release your own cleared funds, with no consistent explanation.

This is not just poor customer service—it’s unacceptable and disruptive, especially if you run a business and rely on access to your funds.

I’ve filed formal complaints and am escalating the matter.

If you value access to your own money, do yourself a favor and bank elsewhere.

My experience with Wells Fargo has been…

My experience with Wells Fargo has been one of the most frustrating and disappointing experiences I have ever had with a financial institution.

I was the victim of a very clear scam involving fraudulent checks and activity on my account. I immediately reported the issue and filed fraud claims, expecting my bank to investigate and protect my account. Instead, Wells Fargo denied both of my fraud claims and refused to return the money that was taken from my account.

What makes this even more concerning is that when Wells Fargo sent me copies of the checks involved, they clearly showed that the checks were written by an individual—not the company I was told they were from. Despite this obvious red flag, the bank still refused to acknowledge the fraud.

Even more troubling is that there were no fraud alerts, no calls, and no attempt from the bank to protect my account or verify suspicious activity. Customers trust banks to safeguard their money and identify unusual transactions, and in this case, Wells Fargo completely failed to do that.

On top of the fraud issue, Wells Fargo also refused to honor the $325 promotional bonus that I was supposed to receive when opening my account. I did not receive the promotional code until after the account was opened, and their own website stated that I could provide the code by calling or visiting a branch. I made multiple attempts to do exactly that. I first tried to give the code to Raphael, who told me he could not accept it. I then attempted to provide it to a branch manager who was in training, and he also refused to accept it.

Wells Fargo still is not taking any accountability for their lack of protection in this case. It is very clear they do not want to take care of their customers. I would strongly caution anyone against falling for their so-called promotional bonuses—they are misleading at best, especially if you open an account online without working directly with a representative. In my experience, they do not honor what they advertise.

This entire situation shows a serious lack of accountability and customer protection. When a bank refuses to stand behind its customers in cases of clear fraud and ignores its own promotional commitments, it raises serious concerns about how they treat the people who trust them with their money.

I would strongly urge anyone considering banking with Wells Fargo to think carefully before doing so.

Hi there, Violet. I noticed your feedback and wanted to reach out, as this is not the impression we want you to have of Wells Fargo. Feeling supported by your bank during an instance of fraud, and receiving an incentive you qualify for is imperative. We would truly value for an opportunity for our research team to review your mentioned concerns further. name, phone number, the link to this Google review, and your case ID: Y1639420779 (no account numbers). -Ant

i did as I was even asked to do in their vague response. But they keep denying. I have a investigator, I have a police report, I have the fake checks, the text messages, the loan app that was suppose to be real. But my claims are constantly being denied. I pray someone steps in and takes a look into all these allegations against Wells Fargo is a liar, and a thief, and selfish and greedy cant even begin to define their actions. I have taken my issue to the Better Business Bureau, to the department of Treasury to the Consumer Protection. - they don't care - they just take your money and if you are scammed like i was and I have a paper trail - they don't care about their people- and the damn sure don't take accountability that their "fraud" department failed to do their job. Trustpilot doesn't allow you to leave their email address in their response.

Maybe the department of treasury or department of finance will look into these allegations. Because it is happening to frequently and it is basically all the same.

Address updated without two factor auth?

Somehow my credit card address got changed (Why do we have two factor auth if it won't work?) and added a new address in another state, when I called the Cust serv they claimed they removed it, they did not, got to the fraud area who said it was a system glitch, and not to worry about it. A glitch? Then I see 2 fraud charges made right after the glitch for a little over $4000.00. He flagged and fixed them, then updated the address which I saw disappear, but I think it is time to find a new bank. WF security is horrid now. Had to call back 2 more times as only 1 fraud charge removed, still will not explain how address got changed, but I should trust them.

Wells Fargo - Where Service in Gilbert is a Joke (downtown Gilbert Branch)

Wells Fargo, manager Jessica and branch manager in downtown Gilbert, Az location are entirely derilict and clueless. Multiple bad transfers, couldn't set up a basic account, transferred me all over the place. I kept having to call back Jessica and her team and they had the audacity to shame ME for taking too much of their time, when it was THEY who transferred me incorrectly, transferred me to employees who hung up, etc. Spent more than 2.5 hours opening a simple account that was established in February. The downtown Gilbert branch should be utterly ashamed. Find another branch if you're going to bank at WF, or better yet, find another bank.

I have been trying to attach my bank to a couple of my bills so it can just be taken out. Im able to log into the account but then it says I have no online access. I was told to update my information at the atm. I did it several times.I was told by one rep that my phone number wasn't eligible 🤦🏽‍♀️. How is that? I was told my account would be fixed in 3 days but it was never fixed. I called and reached out for weeks. Im really looking for another bank because this is unacceptable. All I did was change my number. They told me it had to be my phone but how when I had this phone for years. My mom has the same phone as she has no problems at all.

Stealing your money (legally)

My checking account previously had no monthly service fee for account size. The bank quietly raised the minimum balance requirement without any notice I actually saw. No email, text alert, nothing they knew I’d actually see.
They started deducting the fee directly from my account each month, which never happened before. When I called to complain, they said the change was noted “at the bottom of my statement.” I’m on paperless statements, so I don’t even read the very bottom of those. There’s a reason they did it all this way. They get fees from everything for a month or two and we have to accept the theft. That’s a lot of free money for them.
Relying on a buried footnote in an electronic statement most people don’t check is poor communication for a fee that hits your balance. This resulted in surprise charges and wasted time trying to fix it.
Very disappointing lack of clear, proactive notification about important account changes. Avoid this bank.
