Petrol prices are coming down in the UK…

Petrol prices are coming down in the UK and these jokers are still charging over £2.00/L.

Starbucks out the machine is heavily watered down and has little flavour twice now at the same garage in Lancashire yet the same Starbuck machines in Euro Garages are well better.

Given they are charging an arm and a leg for petrol during a cost of living crisis it's a joke that these places are pot hole central around car parks and upkeep is very poor.

Save your money and drive on to a local garage just off the motorway or use Euro Garages, Welcome Break have set out to rinse drivers at every opportunity.

Birchanger - Chopstix poor value portions

Birchanger - Bishop Stortford Services. Chopstix food is a rip off. £7.99 for medium box but uses table spoon portion. So two pieces of chicken and lots of sauce and potatoes x 2 pieces, when I asked for one extra piece of chicken, the server stated loudly “no that’s all you get”. I watched her serve male customers before me before with two spoonfuls of their choice but with me she decided to go small. She denied serving larger portions but I watched before deciding to buy. Don’t know about the other places. Tables were clean inside the service eating area but that particular branch of chopstix was abysmal and should be avoided for costs. Other Chopstix branches have been adequate elsewhere so a big disappointment in these times of rising costs to be served a child’s portion acting as a medium box.

M4 Eastbound - awful fuel service

M4 Eastbound, Membury. Appalling service in fuel station. They clearly think it's OK to not help a vulnerable 21 year old woman who is panicking because she may have a puncture. Pressure warning light on, machine doesn't accept cards only cash. she asked the cashier for help, nope, he was dismissive, bordering on rude and basically said, it's not my problem. She had to ask a stranger on the forecourt for a £1 coin to check her pressures. Just dreadful. Thankfully she managed to eventually find someone with cash who was incredibly helpful. Unlike the cashier. Train your people better please. Do you really think it's right you allow a vulnerable person to leave when they may actually have a flat tyre that needs replacing - forcing a hard shoulder stop and wait? No...I didn't think so.

Do not use this company for services

Do not use this company for services, there are alternatives. They use a cowboy parking company, you are allowed a maximum of 2 hours parking and then you get fined. It's pathetic, what if you break down ? They don't care about people, they just to punish anyone and get money. Says a lot for the company.

DON'T WORK HERE

worked here (Dursley M5 site) for three years, awful place to work, staff treated like they are owned, zero progression in favour of employing under qualified young staff as managers, who are biased and lazy, general managers mostly eating all the profit in KFC and BK they will bully staff, generally making up problems if they don't like you or falsifying breakages, other staff snorting cocaine off the managers table in burger king, staff theft is through the roof, a culture of blame and shame, picking on elderly staff really bad form in general avoid at all costs, the wage isn't worth it.

M4 Cardiff Gate

M4 Cardiff Gate. Disgusting! Disabled toilet had not been cleaned for weeks going by the dust on all surfaces. No paper towels or electric hand drier. No visible staff to complain to. In the present pandemic, toilets should be regularly cleaned and ‘all’ surfaces including door handles wiped and disinfected!

M6 South Jct 3, Corley Services

I had the misfortune of stopping here to grab some lunch. The services are in a sad state with buckets everywhere collecting water from the leaking roof. We ordered a Burger King, our order was incorrect and also cold, due to the poor service, we ate what we could face and left as quick as possible.
Shocking for a Welcome Break establishment!

Until Feb 2022 there are no male…

Until Feb 2022 there are no male toilets in the main building at Welcome Break - South Mimms Services.
You will have to make your way to the rear car park to a portakabin, if you are male and need the toilet.
It is freezing cold and because the size of the portakabin, highly congested.

mean-spirited parking policy

Holiday allocation this year meant that I had to visit my dad in Ireland in mid -November. He’s in a care home, with advanced dementia, so he was easily convinced that it was Christmas! We won’t share too many more.

The trip was London to Galway return, about 1000 miles, which I had to do in two days. Yikes. On the return trip to London, I was whacked and had to stop at 4am at the next service station after having had a micro-sleep driving moment.

Today, I received a £100 fine from Welcome Break’s parking contractor. It turns out that they don’t welcome cars into their (empty at 4 a.m.) car park for more than two hours. I must admit that I didn’t read the small print as I weaved my way into the carpark. I slept in the driver’s seat and left as soon as the cold woke me up three hours later.

I made a decision to protect myself and other motorway users, in which the small print was just irrelevant. Welcome Break’s restrictions are dangerous and immoral. Is there any scummier company policy out there? Next time, if it happens, I guess I just keep driving?

As a lorry driver and use your parking…

As a lorry driver and use your parking facilities I would like to know when you are going.to realise the same as the other motorway parking restrictions as all of the othe groups that all fridge lorrys should be turned off by no latter than 9pm as this is very annoying and keeps all other drivers awake throughout the night as the only one that does not have the singnedge statement on entry is it possible that you will fall inline with the rest of the truck stops in the UK and.the hole of Europe I look forward to your reply p.danter

Disgusting Toilets

The gents toilets at Cardiff Gate M4 Jtn30 services are filthy, foul smelling, have no privacy and are cramped. They are the worst I have experienced in years.

Truly Vile

Welcome Break Keele Services, M6 Northbound.

What a dump! A short slip road takes you right into the middle of the petrol station with no visible signage for the car park, and any road markings are long erased.

The car park is opposite, a few yards from the motorway, where traffic noise is constant and extremely loud, again the markings are all but invisible, the exit signs vanished.

The main building is a crumbling concrete cancer eyesore, it looks like a war relic, inside stinks of fried food. The toilets are way over on the other side of the building through narrow run-down corridors.

The place does not need doing up, it needs blowing up. I can only imagine that working there must be the most depressing experience a person could have. Couldn't get out soon enough, would never go back.

UNWELCOME BREAK

They should change their name to UNWELCOME BREAK or Exspenive Break.
Because the trick is to catch as many tired motorists as they can by not having a CLEAR Sign telling you it is a Payable carpark on the entrance and NOT A SERVICE AREA WHERE YOU CAN TAKE A BREAK.
As previously mentioned customer service response is a joke.
I won't be stopping here again.

Terrible communication

I had a visit at Welcome Break Abington Biggar around the end of July. The experience was not bad (food is pretty average) and would have deserved 3 or 4 stars, but neither me nor my friends did spot that their parking had a 2-h limit (even during pandemic, when it is half empty all the time), the notices probably got burried within all the pandemic notices and adds, and the restaurants don't warn you. Anyway we got charged £100 for a few minutes overtime...
This in itself is not great, but when I tried contacting their customer service to arrange something I simply received no answer. I do not find it justified to put parking charges in times like these, where the parkings are unlikely to be full.
I won't be going back there anyway.
