No support
I had made two support requests because their DNS config is broken. No replies after two and three weeks.
I can't get my authentication code to…
I can't get my authentication code to transfer my domain to another hosting business. Terrible contact and I am waiting for 6 weeks now to get any personal contact.
Avoid Weebly at all cost.
Like everyone else on here talking about Weebly, I found the client service is appalling. It is impossible to contact Weebly by email. I had a renewal payment taken from my Paypal account without authorisation and can get no explanation from them or Squareup International. The killer punch is that although they took the money, I cannot access my website but have been directed to create a new one. Avoid at all costs.
Weebly customer service is a scam
Weebly has turned into the biggest scam ever since square came into the picture. I’ve been a customer since 2010. They no longer have real customer service. All they have is an automated AI response that never answers the questions you need answered, and when you write an email it takes them a very very long time to respond, if they ever do! I don’t know how this company expects to survive if they have no loyalty to their customers. Do not buy into this they’re horrible.
Terrible client service!!
Terrible client service!!! I only get an automatic answer on my question wich isn’t the answer on my question.
I want to move my url wich I have baught in Weebly to another hosting company but I can’t get or receive the needed authentication code. It’s not working with their standard procedure.
If there is someone who knows how I do can get my authentication code than please let me know.
If Weebly can get in contact with me to help me out and answer my question I have asked them by email. I would be very relieved.
Beware of their lack of customer care
I have had a free website with Weebly since 2014 where I have written a blog and uploaded photos. Recently something went wrong in my account through no fault of my own. I have tried every way possible to communicate with someone to find out why I am now blocked from logging in. As you can imagine I have so much information I can no longer access.
I am really disappointed with their customer care and at this point in time would certainly not recommend them at all.
I rarely write reviews
I rarely write reviews, but my recent experience with Weebly has compelled me to share my frustration and disappointment with their service. As a web developer with extensive technical skills, I can confidently say that Weebly has severely let me down.
I have a domain with Weebly that I wanted to move to a more reliable hosting service, Hostinger. However, Weebly's interface has been so broken that I've been unable to unlock my domain. With no live chat available, I've had to rely on their slow email support system. It took them an entire week to respond to my initial inquiry, and another week to reply to my response. Worst of all, they didn't even fix the issue!
I then requested that they contact the registry to unlock the domain, as Hostinger's support team confirmed it was still locked. Weebly never replied. I've sent them two more follow-up emails over the past month, but have received no response.
This poor service has greatly impacted my brother's business, which relies on the domain. He's now been without a website for two months, all due to Weebly's lack of customer support and technical competence.
In summary, my experience with Weebly has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing. I would strongly advise others to stay away from their service. If you're looking for a reliable and responsive hosting service, look elsewhere. Weebly has proven to be a massive headache that's not worth the time or effort.
EXTORTION!!!!
They informed me they were more than doubling my annual rate, or disconnecting my website... and gave me FOUR days to decide! Totally unacceptable!! Don't let them do this to you...find another company to use!!
Ruthless profiteering
After using Weebly for about 9 years, they have told me I need to buy a monthly plan. This is just ruthless profiteering. As we speak, I am struggling to contact them online.
These people are some of the most…
These people are some of the most unethical, amoral business people around. My wife had a website with them, had issues with it, got no real help from customer service. She then blocked payments to them to cancel the subscription as they charge under a different name and from Dublin Ireland and she was unsure who they were.
Their mature and socially responsible approach was to register every possible combination of domain name to block her from being able to have a website. Why? Well that's the question. I can only be lead to believe it's because they are childish and petulant. I also can only assume that they do this as a regular practice.
There are many other things I would like to say about these people, their employees, and the scabrous and pustulant company they work for and have created... but they already know. May the misery they bring to others fill their own lives.
Not what it used to be
Weebly's founders created a platform where anyone could build themselves a personal website, without requiring coding knowledge. Now, sadly, I have been moving my sites away from Weebly as fast as I'm able; having to painstakingly rewrite each as I go. I only found out about the fact they would no longer offer free hosting when I 'hived off' a site to a newly created account and didn't know why the site could no longer be published? I found out, after lengthy online chatting, that it could only be made live once again if I paid a subscription! "We've sent out multiple emails explaining the changes"; say Weebly. I received ... none! I then recently did receive a message saying any free site with a non Weebly supplied domain would be unpublished on March 14 2023. Now I have just received an email saying .. March 28th. I'm glad I have put contingency plans in place and taken up hosting elsewhere. This seems a bit of a shambles. Weebly was really good to start; good GUI, useful modules and, later on, access to html and CSS to really personalise your site.
Update 19th March 2023
----------------------------
So; athe most recent email from Weebly assured me that it was definitely the 14th of March 2023 to convert to a paid subscription on all "vanity" domains. The 14th March came .. and went .. and the site is still up?! 😆
This was a 4 star review until this…
This was a 4 star review until this week... I've been using weebly for about a decade, and they just sprung on me that I have to buy a monthly plan, that includes a domain, on top of what I've already paid for the domain, and in the meantime I can't update my website. So now I have to pay even more for a mediocre site builder that has always been frustrating to learn and use as well as glitchy. And yes, even after 3 hours on chat, I was told there was no one to escalate the issues to.
Ok company, but only used briefly
Weebly seems like a decent company. I made a website quickly and easily. That said, I didn’t have it up and running for years or use it for business or anything like that. I just needed a website quickly, and Weebly was the answer. I have not gone through their customer support. I am overall satisfied, but please note my experience was not long-term, and I may have more to say about this later.
Really, really bad
Please do yourselves a favour and find another template site. The design software isn't bad but the back-up is really, really bad. I have had two sites with Weebly for three years. They weren't great at customer care before the Square takeover but after it...wow, where to start. After setting up a load of product pages they have now made them unavailable to my customers and say I need to upgrade - due to the crime of having a European domain aka .co.uk They repeatedly bill me for things on automatic even though I have asked time and time again to have the auto-upgrades turned off. The customer service people are doing their best but they are clearly under orders to cut and paste replies rather than engage meaningfully. Repeat requests to have my many complaints escalated to someone who will engage are ignored. The only thing that keeps me there - reluctantly - is the grief of having to start over somewhere else.
Well after having a broken link for…
Well after having a broken link for over a year (404 not found). I tried, chat, e-mail, phone, reading all customers complaints, to no avail. I finally cut ties and cancelled! I got a weak excuse from the girl on the phone (not her fault) that she had to tag my homepage and that it was up and running now! This company is horrible!!!!! These billionaires wouldn't even give me a refund!!!! I feel so sorry for Kelly, because she didn't know what to tell me. My heart goes out to their employees and all customers
Lack of Coordination with Square
Was randomly unable to log in to my account. Was given multiple explanations as to why, and no one could fix the problem. Tried to communicate with people via email; stopped getting replies. Was on the phone with them for an hour and a half and spoke to at least 6 people. Problem still could not be resolved, so I cancelled my account after someone was unable to transfer me to a supervisor.
To improve, supervisors need to be more supportive of their staff. I do believe that everyone was trying their best to help me with a unique problem. But the fact that there is no one above them to field questions and resolve issues like this is unacceptable. It shows both a clear disregard for customers AND staff.
There also needs to be stronger coordination between Square and Weebly. The left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing, and that’s a problem.
Probably the best customer support I…
Probably the best customer support I have every experienced, I believe the other comments are just people who like to complain.
Would utilize the chat and not email.
100% recommended.
Thank you Jaz!!!
Unbelievably poor technical support from Weebly
I have been with Weebly for over 10 years and have three websites with them and have always though it was a great software. I have never needed any support in the past but now my website has been hacked and and is now unusable due to a malware issue hidden in the code and obviously it was critical for us to get this resolved asap.
I therefore called Weebly support today for some help and after a 30min wait and then 3 hours on the phone I was told I could not get any support as my website was not using a Weebly template, which it was.
I was shocked that the support team offered no help at all especially give the seriousness of the issue.
I will be look at moving all of my websites on to another platform.
Can't get my account cancelled
Can't get my account cancelled. I contacted them and PayPal and they didn't respond after taking $99 from my PayPal account. I can't get on the site after Square bought them and have reached out to them numerous times to no avail. Now PayPal won't escalate the complaint because they said I missed the deadline. They gave Weebly 30 days to respond and of course they did not...so I'm out another $99 for NOTHING! Stay far away from this website builder who will not respond....It's good to see I'm in good company with a rating of 1.7....read the reviews & Save your money.
One thing I must stress.
One thing I must stress.! DO NOT Use Weebly,.! Don't waste your valuable time or money on this system. It is very outdated and they do not give dam about weebly users, they are more focused on Square websites.
Terrible customer service, which must mean one thing, Terrible management.
