This is a horrible predatory bank

This is a horrible predatory bank. They don't lend to individuals, choosing instead to only provide loans to third-party companies. This forces you to go through them and pay excessively high origination fees to the third-party company. They issue very high-interest rates and fail to explain their business methods or how they receive kickbacks from those third-party companies for each loan deal. They became very angry when I confronted them about their predatory and potentially illegal business practices.

OH HELL NO! If I could give a minus score for…

If I could give a minus score for WebBank and AVANT, I would. Consumer BEWARE of their practices. AVANT just tacked on an $8.99 MONTHLY fee ON TOP of their RIDICULOUS interest rates. I personally will NEVER take a credit card that has an "annual fee" so imagine my anger when AVANT/WebBank suddenly added this new fee. That's an equivalent of $107.88 per year. I reported them to the FDIC for unfair practices and I am happy to share the response from WebBank, but let me just say the written response clarifies that WebBank has NO respect for their consumers. My inclination is to stop paying them, if I pay them off and cancel my card, it impacts my credit score, and if I cease to pay them, it impacts my credit score. Here's the thing: I am not in the market for any large purchases, so my credit score doesn't really matter. If I tank it over what I allege is unresponable business practices, oh well. And I see by others' reviews that I am not alone in the bad taste that WebBank and AVANT leave in my mouth. SHAME ON GREEDY COMPANIES! #BoycottWebBank #BoycottAVANT I am currently in touch with my legislators to put an end to what I allege is their unfair "bait and switch" practices. Time will tell. Meanwhile, be sure to tell all your friends and those you care about, to steer clear of anything WebBank related.

WebBank offers at least 2 credit cards

WebBank offers at least 2 credit cards, Avant and Oportun. 1 card they decided to just cancel with no notice etc due to inactivity for 90 days the other they decided to hike the interest rate to 35.9% for no legitimate reason, score is higher limits are higher, they just did it. Both are problematic. It may help build your credit but they destroy it with these actions after you become invested over time with them. Do not fall for it, get a capital one or open sky or fnbo secured card to get your boost.

FCRA Violations by WebBank

PETAL has been inaccurately reporting my balance to the three credit bureaus, which constitutes a violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Despite previous assurances from Petal, the issue remains unresolved for several months now. Despite multiple attempts to dispute the balance with the credit bureaus, PETAL has failed to rectify the situation and continues to provide false information.

I have communicated the financial hardships caused by this violation to Petal on several occasions, highlighting how it has significantly impacted my family's housing situation. However, PETAL has yet to take appropriate action to correct the inaccuracies.
