Not accessible!!!

Not accessible!
There are lots of videos in the course content but none of the videos have captions or transcripts. I reached out to the support team but was told that they haven't 'implemented this option yet'. Being able to hear/understand audio isn't an 'option' for some people. They said if I struggled understanding without captions I should try re-watching the videos! I feel really disheartened by this response.

I took the course in 2020 and generally…

I took the course in 2020 and generally there is a lot of positive feelings about the course. In regards to group engagement, I'd say this is one of the best benifits; it's rare to be in these sorts of teams working to a common goal especially, where in work there can be so many limitations including 'red tape' and ego. Exploring new ways of working in a team and refining ideation is invaluable in this course.

The content is extensive and there are a lot of references and links to help the teams/individuals research everything about digital transformation/leadership.

You get out what you put in was the experience. However, as this is teamwork you better be lucky you're in a team that is at least committed. I was lucky that my first group (for the first 3 months) worked well and we all participated fully. The last group wasn't so much and only a couple of us were committed. It's also interesting when ego surfaces and having to find ways to deal with that is invaluable also.

Where the course lets itself down is the slow customer service responses. You'll get the answer eventually but it can take weeks to get an answer (at least in 2020).
Also, there is very little info on getting the distinction accolade and what the criteria are. I'm not saying I should have received one but at least I would have been in with a chance had I known to complete every single quiz etc. I was a couple short and all the commitment I put in wouldn't have been enough to receive the distinction. To Squared, it would be nice to highlight this more at the start of the course.

I got this course through work. Would I have paid for it, probably and I do recommend it.

Pros:
- good user interface

Cons:
- information and knowledge shared are not exclusive. There is always a Further Reading that points to other websites. In fact, I learnt more about Digital Marketing from Youtubes and other websites (which are FREE). Information shared are very basic.

- Live classes consist of sharing of videos, throwing questions back to students and jotting down student’s feedback. Hardly any valuable Digital Marketing knowledge to learn from here. Neither inspiring nor educational. Not sure if students ideas are being used for other purposes.

- too may project work. Out of 5 modules there are 4!!!! And 3 are with same members. At times there could be too many Indian Chiefs giving instructions to other members, and if you do not align to their beliefs, yours will be override!!

Yes, it’s important to have group assignments, but this is just too many. Most, if not all are taking this part time, and having to handle the messages throughout the day/hours just for a project can be disrupting to one’s work. Not mentioning the time involve just for these projects can be taxing and be put into better use (full time working people with real projects on hand can find this very tiring). Further, there are no tangible benefits to these projects, just merely adding up the percentage needed to complete the course. It makes the entire project trivia and stupid.

Person grading the assignment is not clearly mentioned. We do not know their full credentials too.

Regretted taking this course as it’s a waste of time and money.

I'm undecided about this course

I'm undecided about this course, probably leaning toward thinking it was the wrong choice. I've learned some valuable things but small nuggets of useful information have been cloaked in lots of non-valuable information. Feels like a long way round to get info you could get with some Googling and YouTube watching.

Perhaps the course was just a poor choice on my part. Like a lot of my colleagues on the course, I wanted to do it because I've never had any formal digital training. I was very interested in the specifics of how you leverage digital channels, i.e. what channels are available and literally, how you use them / set them up. So i've learned some things in module three (which is about digital advertising) but it was still largely theoretical. So really my learning has been a tick list of things to go elsewhere and look into in more detail and teach myself how to use. But maybe that's that point, the course can't cover everything right? And it has given me a start.

Or maybe I'd have been better off going and doing a more specific PPC or Digital Ads course. Rather than something that focuses on more general themes and leadership (in fairness to Google it's a digital leadership course). But I personally didn't find those elements valuable.

How they pitch the content is very varied too. For example, in one activity they literally explain what a search engine is, it's that basic. But in another, they might describe something quite advanced and expect you to already be familiar with it so they don't share crucial details that someone wanting to learn and apply would need to know. So I didn't find this course difficult, just difficult to understand at times. It becomes clear lots of different people have written it and it's a bit disjointed.

I enjoyed some elements of the group work but also feel that maybe it just made things more time-consuming. My group was lovely, I couldn't have asked for a better group, but lovely as they were I did question if group work helped me learn about digital marketing? I think I'd have preferred to just learn actual things and cut down the time I had to dedicate to this. And of course group work is opinion-based, I just wanted to learn the correct answers. Again I think this is aimed at people who are interested in the digital leadership element of the course, so I can see why google structured it this way. Maybe just not for me.

So it's a meh from me. Some valuable things learned but I could probably spend a day googling 'digital advertising advancements' or 'Digital ads' or something at my desk and learn some interesting, valuable things. Part of me also questions why Google charges for this course. Ultimately it's teaching you how to spend more money with them, I wonder if one day of this will be free?

I will also say, I expected more from Google delivery-wise. I had endless issues with my portal which got very frustrating. I couldn't see videos, couldn't submit work, my completion was 95% when I'd completed all tasks etc. So when I'd dedicated time to do work, on multiple occasions I had to abandon it and wait for support to get back to me (which can be days, and they have a habit of not answering properly first time round). On one occasion I couldn't leave group feedback (which is essential for your own grade.) The support worker I spoke to actually moved my deadline forward to 'help'? I just found it was tech issue after tech issue. I wasted a lot of time. The irony that the whole course is about the importance of user experience wasn't lost on me.

We came to the end of the course and 2…

We came to the end of the course and 2 months since I started to chase them for make my agreement and slow payments and nothing has been agreed yet.
They spend 2 weeks to look my emails and give me an answers like “I will have a look” 2 weeks later “what do you think”.

Their customer service is terrible.
I am not about the girls but about the system.
I am not sure how many emails they need to deal per shift but what I know is their service is not being enough.

I am waiting for 7 days an answer to confirm that I can make the payment that they offer to me.
Still didn’t get any answer from them Confirming or making the payment.
They say my account will be closed till I close a deal, and they spend 2 weeks to confirm or reject the deal.

Got tired of you guys!!

Really! I can’t advise to anyone this course.
Don’t wast your money and time.

Excellent training and experience

Excellent training and experience, I can take away frameworks and new learnings to apply to my day-to-day job.
Only the live sessions were not always very useful because just a repetition of what were in the modules with exercises and readings.

Very positive

Very positive. Whilst it was more angled towards effecting digital transformation within a more corporate environment (and we are a small games start up), I found the content to be broad as well as deep and I have been enabled to create a very rich, informed marketing strategy as a result of doing the course. What I particularly liked was the sheer volume of links for further reading and the GA demo tool so I could play around with understanding what GA could do for me.

The course was useful and interesting

The course was useful and interesting
In general, I found all of the steps, projects and topics so updated for our nowadays jobs.

As a recommendation, I suggest telling to prospects that it is long (six months of training)

I know a lot of people who started the work and then they dropped out because it was so long, and other partners did not continue with it. So they were alone to do the projects.
