I was really excited to see these new pads as they are flushable (I dislike having to use those pad bins in public toilets), bio-degradable and kind to the environment - a game changer! When I fir... See more

We're Fluus, the creators of the world's first fully flushable period pad. We're on a mission to stop harmful chemicals against our skin, microplastics in waterways and permanent waste caused by period products. As well as being fully flushable, Fluus is the first truly microplastic free period pad in the world (we know because we built the world's first microplastic free, high speed manufacturing line). As well as respecting our planet, this means that there's no sweaty plastic against your skin. Made from cellulose plant fibres, Fluus is hypoallergnic and has passed skin and vaginal sensitivity tests, making it perfect for even the most sensitive skin. To make Fluus both absorbent AND flushable, we created our patented technology called Flushtec®. It is a combination of materials and first-of-its-kind manufacturing process which makes Fluus pads naturally absorbent, but they only start breaking down once they're fully submerged in turbulent water. Want to know how it really works? The volume and hydraulic action of the flush tear the pad apart. It breaks down even further as it travels through the drainline. The disintegrated pad arrives at the water treatment centre, having broken down into cellulose plant fibres half the size of an eyelash. Here it can safely pass through the screens where it is treated and converted into biogas and fertiliser, creating a circular product lifecycle. Conventional pads contain 90% plastic and take over 500 years to degrade. We believe companies should take responsibility for the complete lifecycle of the products they create. Flush and forget.

Unique Product
I've been using the Fluus sanitary pads for over a year now.
The Fluus team does genuinely care about their products and even carries out customers reviews directly, where they contact customers to ask them to test their product and give their honest feedback. They communicate with customers if there is a problem.
Shortly after the feedback is given the product is upgraded according to the customer requirements.
From my experience, they listened and upgraded their sanitary pads to suit me. They stick much better now.
Any skin issue that I've experienced with other brands have disappeared. They do really dissolve in water aaaand their wings are sooo much better than the other brands.
The pads look small, so they might not look like they are for heavy periods but the way they absorb, I don't think that would be an issue. I have already recommended them to friends.
Thank you Fluus

Second lot and they are even better
This is my second order and my second review. In my first review I said they were great but that they didn't stick very well (though they stayed in place) and were quite bulky. I'm happy to report that they have improved greatly on both counts. The only thing I could wish for now is that the range is increased to include slim day pads too!

The glue on the pad would not stick to…
The glue on the pad would not stick to my underwear. Now I have packs of this product that I cannot use. I bought it to try to be more sustainable and but I just didn't think that would mean I would have to compromise on the quality.

Truly disappointed
Really wanted to love this product but I am so disappointed and now left with so many of them that I don’t even feel comfortable donating to a women’s shelter because they are not fit for purpose. There is absolutely zero adhesive , I noticed on my last period with 1 so proceeded to open 5 and none of them had adhesive so would not stick to my underwear. I did also notice last time I used them that they blocked my toilet a bit. And I skipped a delivery way before the time period and I got charged and delivered a new pack which was just frustrating , why have that service if it doesn’t work.

A few more tweaks needed for this product…
I originally tried these pads in July but there was an issue with the glue which meant that the pads did not stick to underwear very well. I tried them a second time in September after they had made adjustments to them and although they stayed stuck to the underwear well, the top layer of the pad came away from the base of the pad and started breaking apart. Bits of glue got stuck to my skin and made them very uncomfortable to wear.

What’s not to love?
I buy these for my daughter and she says they’re great - really absorbent, and she loves the flexibility of being able to flush them down the loo. Also brilliant that they don’t create more waste for landfill or clog drains.
Having these delivered as regularly as you need to, make them super convenient as well.

I love the idea but I’m not a fan
I love the idea but I’m not a fan, the residue from the sticky bits is horrible! The pads disintegrated and just didn’t hold up… glad a wore with period pants else it could have been a messy situation! Really wanted these to be amazing but fell short of the mark.

Awful
Awful. Cancelled subscription and still charged me 16.80 for products I didn't want. Conveniently didn't pick up my messages until they dispatched 2 days later. Not happy.

Pad didn’t flush down and adhesive but wouldn’t stick
The adhesive covers flush down the toilet nicely but the pad itself just sat there for a couple of flushes until I fished it out and put it in the bin for fear of it blocking the toilet as it was clearly not disintegrating. The adhesive bits aren’t sticky at all either so it falls about in your knickers (or just falls out altogether!)

Gamechanger
I was a bit sceptical at first when I ordered but lo and behold they really do flush everything just boom down the loo. I was a bit upset at the quality of the stickiness of the pad. It didn’t really stick well to my underwear and was a tad uncomfortable not very thick but before I had even made the decision not to order again I got an email saying we are making some changes based on your feedback. The new pads are so much more sticky and feel thicker too but lightweight so you don’t even feel them. So much easier that you don’t have to wrap it up and find a bin just down the toilet it goes. Super impressed and it’s helping the environment too. Well done Fluus!
