I had booked before I read the other review on here, so it worried me somewhat. Our experience was much more favourable. We were upgraded from a B3 to B4 free of charge. The staff collected us from the easy to find meeting point at the airport. They offered us various add ons or upgrades which we politely declined (no hard sell). Yes the deposit is steep, and the pep talk on damage and the hills was a little concerning. We wanted a small car because of the local roads, though a more powerful engine would have helped. There was a problem with the boot opening, but it didn't affect us too much - though we reported it before leaving. There is a petrol station nearby to refill at the end of the hire period. Yes take good photos inside and out just in case - the guy suggested we take them. Drop off was equally smooth with a quick return to the Airport. The Mild Hybrid was helpful on the hills. Would we use again - Yes. A good local company.

Do not use as they are not reliable. We booked a car for 5 days through them, and due to severe winds were not able to land for a couple of days.

Anticipating this we called ahead, explained the situation and verbal agreement that we could still pick up the car 2 days later and were willing to for the full 5 days, but only take it for 3.

On landing in Madeira they claimed this had never been agreed and that the car had been given to someone else.

They also indicated that there were no spare cars. However, cars were available on their website.

As others have flagged here, complete scammers. Avoid.
