"AI" is paywalled

The whole "AI" thing is paywalled. They will act like you violated their terms of service and disable your account, then ask you to pay to use any AI features. Unless you want to pay, it's just a fancy looking terminal lol.

Just installed warp and I was able to…

Just installed warp and I was able to Sign up after several failed attempts. On my first prompt, I'm being told "You've been blocked from using AI features...blah blah blah" and I need to upgrade to continue using AI features. Now how the hell do you expect me to upgrade to something I haven't even tried out? Also very poor customer support. If you want me to pay then connect me to a human I'm not trying to argue with bots that will just be replying the same thing over and over again.

Worst Support ever

I've been a long-term customer at warp.dev and have paid for multiple plans. But then my account got flagged and canceled by their automated system because of allegedly "suspicious behavior." I asked them what this was about, and they never got back to me. This is so disappointing. I really had hoped they would listen to their customers, but in the last month Warp and its partly non-functioning AI features has gotten worse and worse. It seems like they don't care about the community anymore.

FIX THIS PLS

I was trying to sign in to the platform but it kept on telling me that I cannot since I violated the Terms of Service. I do not own a VPN, and I contacted their appeals email. Got a message back saying "your email has not went through because this email does not exist or blah blah blah". Please let me know of a fix.

UPDATE: From 5 Stars to Unusable – The "New Warp" is a trap

Honestly, this is the best tool I’ve ever used. The price is absolutely fair and, unlike what some others mentioned, it’s definitely not a waste of money. I don’t know what those users were doing, but I’ve developed several trading systems and was more than 20× faster compared to using standard LLMs.

The code quality is outstanding — clean, bug-free, and stable. There’s no data loss, everything runs smoothly, and it’s incredibly easy to use. The tool basically handles everything on its own — I just compile and test. It even automatically detects logs, identifies issues, and suggests fixes, ideas, and solutions.

Another huge plus: the credit usage is much lower than with typical LLMs because it pinpoints the exact lines that need changes instead of generating entire snippets or blocks unnecessarily.

I also love the credit-based system because it keeps my workflow consistent until everything is done. I’m really glad I tested it myself before reading the negative reviews, because Warp truly impressed me.

The bad reviews honestly surprise me. If you’re looking for a professional, next-level coding experience that actually delivers, this tool is absolutely worth it. Try it yourself and make your own opinion.

[EDIT Jan 2026]: I am changing my rating from 5 stars to 1 star.

I previously wrote a review calling this the "Best Tool in my life." Unfortunately, the recent pricing transition to the "Build Plan" and the technical reality of the new features have completely ruined the experience.

Here is the current reality for paying customers:

1. BYOK is technically broken
I subscribed to the paid plan specifically to use the "Bring Your Own Key" (Anthropic) feature. It constantly fails with "LLM unavailable" errors. When I contacted support, I received an automated reply telling me to "check GitHub." I am a paying customer, not a beta tester.

2. The "Hidden Cost" Trap (No Caching)
Warp’s BYOK implementation does NOT support Anthropic Prompt Caching headers. If you use high-end models like Opus 4.5 for large codebases (as I do), you will pay full price for every single request (input tokens). Without caching, this makes the tool economically unviable compared to competitors who handle this correctly.

3. Critical Bugs
Remote work via RDP/Android is currently impossible due to input bugs that have been known for months but remain unfixed.

Conclusion:
Right now, I am paying a monthly subscription for a tool that cannot connect to the LLM, offers no support for critical cost-saving features (Caching), and has non-existent human support.

I cannot recommend Warp in its current state. I will update this review only if they fix the BYOK backend and implement Prompt Caching.

Please do not subscribe NOW

I subscribed to the Pro version after being very satisfied with the free plan. But my 2,500 requests were gone in just one hour! For comparison, I use Cursor and AugmentCode much more intensively, and 500 requests there easily last me a full month.

How exactly are you calculating these requests?

⚠️ Until Warp provides a transparent and detailed explanation of how requests are counted, I strongly advise everyone not to subscribe.

Extremely disappointed with Warp.dev…

Extremely disappointed with Warp.dev AI. Seriously, don't make the same mistake I did. This service is a total waste of money, there is zero justice for usage limits and they are outright scammers. My 2500 requests vanished after only 10 prompts, all in one single day! Save your money and find a more reputable AI platform.

I bought the pro plan for 1 month with a referral code. I invited a friend to a team because I thought I could share the session with him and then I got charged an additional 33$ without me even knowing. Absolute scam wouldnt recommend.

The other reviews are accurate

The other reviews are accurate.

I paid for the 10,000 request tier, and i ran out within 8 days. Absolutely no way I sent that many requests.

Either there is some really shady non-transparent metering system or they are blatantly ripping me off.

Do not use

Bad AI coding + AWFUL user experience

TLDR; Product is SIGNIFICANTLY worse than others in competition, poorly though out on essential features.

1. No dashboard you have to download and launch the app to manage biling and other simple stuff, and you're not told that anywhere.
2. Code generated by AIs randomly get's filled with wrong unicode or just straighup missing chunks.
3. No checkpoints/rollback options (not explicitly/easy of access).
4. Bad rules system, rules can only be "automatically applied" you can't specify core rules.

Not what's advertised, as far as I can tell

Warp is advertised as a development environment and terminal, but it isn't either of these things. When I tried to execute terminal commands the AI just kept saying that Warp isn't a terminal. I couldn't find any code editing capability unless I want to risk the AI making changes and in my experience they need to be kept on a very tight leash.

The text entry also doesn't work properly if PowerToys is installed with the accented characters tool in use. The recommendation was to disable it or change the shortcut whenever I'm using Warp. No other application that I've used has a problem with the PowerToys accented character tool, so the problem is clearly with Warp, not with PowerToys.

Blatent false advertising

Blatent false advertising. They advertise that "AI requests" are "unlimited" but then try to explain that these requests are dependent on something that is limited, thereby rendering the claimed "unlimited" component NOT unlimited. Under UK consumer law this is false advertising and one is entitled to a refund. I'd be surprised if this isn't also true in the USA. Shocking behaviour from their billing team to try to argue their way out of this. I've been without the service for 3 days now and they've been unable to restore it arguing that the unlimited component is still active but that it doesn't work due to the limited component!! It's not unlimited if it stops working before the end of the purchased period!
