VERY UNPROFESSIONAL

Yesterday (17th February) my sister had to take our Cat Bo back for a second time, due to the fact that Bo had not been given a proper groom the first time she was taken to Waggy Den. Bo is a long-haired Cat which means that she needs a regular and PROFESSIONAL groom.......which she did not get. My sister is a pensioner and she paid £110 for Bo's groom, and for such a high price, a PROPER groom is what we expect. This morning, my sister received from the so-called 'Groomer' at Waggy Den, a reply to my sister's review, which, quite frankly, was despicable, to say the least. The 'Groomer' accused my sister of not taking care of Bo adequately, and claimed that Bo had not been groomed for about a year and a half. In fact, Bo was groomed less than 6 months ago. The reason we did not book the same groomer again is because he had no appointments available for about 3 months, so naturally, we had to look elsewhere. This is when we decided to give Waggy Den a try.
Well, the first groom was a joke. Bo had hardly been touched, and far from a full groom, Bo looked no different than when she went to Waggy Den. My sister was offered a 2nd groom, and again my sister took Bo back to Waggy Den, and again, the job was appalling.
This is when my sister wrote her review, warning other folks to think twice before taking their pet to this high priced salon for a very unprofessional groom. The reply my sister received this morning was nothing short of outrageous. The 'Groomer' made ageist comments about the fact that my sister is a pensioner, and she accused my sister of being a 'Miserable Old Pensioner'. She also accused my sister of neglecting Bo, and obviously can not take criticism of any kind. She man-handled my 72 year old sister out of the shop and whilst this is illegal under English law, to put your hands on another person without their consent, we will not be getting the police involved. So, if there are any pensioners reading this, I would think twice about giving my money to Waggy Den, for a groom which is nothing short of a joke. The Woman who 'groomed' our Cat is taking money under false pretences. I do not believe for one second that she is a fully qualified groomer, and IF she is, then she needs to be re-trained.

Best groomer I’ve been to for my cat

It’s hard to find a good local cat groomer, the closest one was in Hertfordshire but I came across to Waggy den and couldn’t be happier with their service! Staff were extremely friendly and helpful with giving advice. Definitely recommend :)

Traumatic and careless experience – not worth £90

I took my cat here for what was supposed to be a premium grooming service, and what I got was an upsetting, poorly handled experience that left my cat distressed and me completely dissatisfied.

They asked me to bring my own towel, which already raised red flags. When I picked my cat up, he was still soaking wet, with dirty ears and eyes, exactly as he arrived. 2 of he’s paw and were shaved and the front 2 were not shaved probably. They had blasted him with a dryer while he was trapped in his carrier, instead of gently handling him or using tools like a happy hoodie to reduce stress. What animal would like that. I had to finish drying and cleaning him myself at home for £90, that’s just unacceptable.

To make things worse, it was clear they were rushing. It felt like they couldn’t be bothered to finish the job properly because it was the end of the day and they just wanted to go home.

When I called to express my concerns, the groomer was rude, dismissive, and kept putting words in my mouth instead of listening. She kept saying “we don’t usually wash cats”, even though I had confirmed in advance that they do, and have seen them washing cats on their own social media.

They blamed stress for why they didn’t complete the job but if this were a dog, they wouldn’t send it home wet and dirty. A true professional groomer should have the training, tools, and compassion to care for anxious animals properly.

I would never return and strongly advise others to avoid this place if you value your pet’s wellbeing.

Such a wonderful experience from start…

Such a wonderful experience from start to finish! The salon is clean, welcoming, and the staff are incredibly friendly. They handled my dog with so much care and patience, and the grooming was done to perfection. My dog left happy, relaxed, and looking better than ever. I couldn’t be happier with the service — highly recommended to anyone looking for a groomer who truly loves what they do!

Best holistic pet stylists!

Waggy Den is fantastic for my hypoallergenic Poodle! The groomers are the best pet stylists I’ve encountered, using all-natural products that are gentle on my dog’s sensitive skin. Their unique Asian fusion grooming techniques make every visit special, and the cage-free environment ensures a stress-free experience. My Poodle always comes out looking fabulous!

Plus, their pet shop has a great selection of quality products. I highly recommend Waggy Den for anyone seeking top-notch grooming services!
