I've been using Vooks as a parent and as a community educator. I've found it very useful for teaching children not just how to read and understand English but more importantly for introducing life skills and values. One of the best tools to have if you intend to focus on Social, Emotional and Ethical learning in your classroom (or at home).

Good content but app is stupidly unusable now
Good content but recent app updates have made it unusable on iPhone or iPad, because of the extremely stupid decision to lock the video selection pages in portrait mode, while the videos are locked in landscape mode, thus requiring constant turning of the device, which is too troublesome and no longer worth subscribing to.

Initially we enjoyed Vooks but didn’t end up using it much. My husband informed me we were charged once in June then again in July for an annual membership. So we were charged $49.99 twice. I logged into my account and it said my subscription was expired and didn’t allow me to access any books. I also didn’t receive any email reminder about the up coming renewal of the subscription. Being charged once for an annual membership is fine. Being charged twice then not allowing access to said membership is fraud. Vooks is a scamming company. Their website does not allow me to pause or cancel my subscription.

I did enjoy using the books for my students during remote learning. Now I am trying to unsubscribe and it keeps saying something went wrong try again. Money is still being taken out. Not happy.

You can't unsubscribe...Scam
Be careful do not subscribe not even for the free trial .. I have been trying to unsbuscribe since January, I was sent an email that if I needed to unsubscribe then I should contact them there. I have sent several email and never got a replay. I am unable to unsubscribe through the website or the application. I have been charged for three months now without using the app .. its a total scam be careful.

Vooks is amazing! My daughter use to watch YouTube constantly and Vooks gives her something calmer and better to watch. I can’t recommend this enough to parents of toddlers. I would love to read to my daughter everyday, but knowing that she is being read to really helps when I can’t do it myself
