Building project in Guatemala
I spent two weeks working alongside a Guatemalan family and others in the group to build their new home from the ground up! I am in Trade College so having this kind of hands-on, practical experience was awesome. This building program in Guatemala definitely changed my perspective on my capabilities and myself. I have also learned so much about the Guatemalan culture and people; super friendly and know how to have a good laugh. I also made a lot of new friends from different parts of the world as we all worked together in a group to get the job done. It was hard work of course, what is expected when you sign up to do a construction project, but was 100% worth it plus more! Knowing we have contributed to the growth and support of these families for now and the future is a really positive feeling.
