Rude, indifferent and lying desk staff
I hired a Fiat 500 from Volta4u Athens airport. No complaints about the car; it was as expected. My complaint is with the guy on the desk. He acted like customers were preventing him from doing his job.
When asked to sign (onscreen), he snatched the pen from my hand halfway through signing (on all 3 occasions).
The worst thing, though, was that he said the tank was full and that I must bring it back full. He told me this while he sat in the driver's seat, looking at the tank gauge. A few minutes after leaving with the car, I looked at the gauge, it was only 3/4 full. So he blatantly lied.
They are a big scammer
They are a big scammer i book a car on internet when i arrive in Héraklion (crête) for pick up the car they told me you must to add 400€ if you want the car and if i dont pay they Will not rent to me the car i have crédit card and licence driver OK they Just took my money and dont return to me they are big scammer
Okay service
Seen many bad reviews, but our experience was okay. We had no problems, only some inconveniences. Volta4U in kefalonia is actually Addcar. We booked via booking.com and it said to call the number. We did but this was the number of Europcar: “yes they need to change the number to theirs but we cannot help you”. Inconvenient, so we called a second number that was there and eventually got to the Addcar place (no sign of Volta4u whatsoever, which was annoying). The guy was not in the best mood. Not at pickup nor at drop off. During pickup we walked in on a semi-angry customer. The car was great and everything went smooth. We have nothing much to complain aside from the annoying pickup treasure hunt.
Scam!
Scam!!
I booked a car with a “debit card” and when arrived to Volta4U in Athens I was told that I can’t pick up the car because they needed a “credit card”.
!!!!!! I was charged from the debit card though !!!!!!!
58€ in the garbage!!!!
Never again with this scammers.
This is the worst company to hire a car…
This is the worst company to hire a car they kept our deposit of 700 euros made up some faults in the car I will never use them again they are absolutely thieves!
They gave us a broken car with a…
They gave us a broken car with a constantly flashing "check engine" light. The car was filthy and reeked of sweat. Due to the engine problems, it accelerated very poorly. Additionally, there was a huge dent on the rear bumper, which I hope they won't blame on us! On top of everything, the car didn't even have CarPlay. In conclusion, they handed us a broken, non-functioning piece of metal.
And it's been exactly a month since we returned the car, but we still haven't received our deposit back. I read reviews about this company on Trustpilot, and many people are complaining about the same issue. This company only returns the money after a dispute is opened on Booking
WORST RENTALCOMPANY EVER
Pickup went smooth. Nice car, Some damage. At return there appeared to be a parking damage (probably door of another car) of 2mm, hardly visible. After waiting in line at the office, the employee did hardy look at us, was only watching the photo’s and told me rude that our leaving plane was not his problem because we damaged the car. Finally, after a waiting time of 50 minutes he charged us €300 (!!) for this minimal damage, meanwhile constantly flirting with his female collegue. Even came after me that I had to relax (which I was not at that time) and explaining to me that the damage had to be repaired. I showed him the car he was currently giving out was full of non-repaired scratches which he denied. Meanwhile I hope that my €1750 (!!) deposit will be returned rightfully as I did not read the reviews on this site. This was about the 10th time we rented a car in Greece, normally always friendly people. Never treated an hustled like this. Stay away from this terrible company and it’s arrogant employees!!
Our experience with Volta4U was an absolute nightmare
Our experience with Volta4U was an absolute nightmare, and I cannot stress enough how terrible this company is. We rented cars through Booking.com for a 2-day trip in Santorini and a 3-day trip in Athens, both from Volta4U, expecting a smooth experience. What we encountered instead was sheer rudeness, unacceptable behavior, and a filthy office environment that set the tone for the entire ordeal.
The main issue arose when they refused to accept a debit card for the deposit. They happily took our money to book the cars, but when it came time to provide the deposit—an outrageous €700, far higher than the €400 deposit typical of other companies—they refused to accept our debit card. This put us in an extremely difficult situation during our holiday. We had to waste precious time calling Booking.com, negotiating for a refund, which thankfully they agreed to.
Volta4U is nothing short of a company of extreme scammers. They will take your money and then create impossible hurdles, likely hoping you'll give up and they can pocket your money.
**Warning: Do not go near this company. They will steal your money.**
On a positive note, we want to express our gratitude to Alamo car company and funrentacar_elvis, which was a breath of fresh air. They were helpful, straightforward, and didn’t cause any trouble at all. With Alamo and funrentacar_elvis (found on instagram), it was as simple as picking up the car and driving off—no games, no scams, just excellent service.
Avoid Volta4U at all costs, and go with a reputable company like Alamo instead.
Great customer service from Kosmos at Volta4u
Friendly and efficient car hire from Volta4u close to Corfu airport. A special thanks to Kosmos who offered to drive us and our heavy suitcases to Airport departures to save us a 100m walk. Much appreciated !!
Volta 4 u Athens center
Volta 4 u Athens center. More than two month waiting for refund on deposit and nothing ,even after several calls and emails. The ladies are arrogant and rude, typical of stupid scammers. Need to go through lawyers to get money back, incredible.
Business model is about ripping you off
We rented through autoeurope for the Athens Airport. The Volta4U location is technically next to the airport Tarmac, but don't let that fool you: you must take a shuttle to get to their location, which can be difficult to find-- we had to call them to get directions.
Worse, they tried super hard sell to upsell damage insurance of 600 euros on a 700 euros rental, using a 2500 euro reserve on the your credit card as incentive.
The original car we got was in poor condition, with a clutch almost burned out, lots of exterior imperfections, and air conditioning that barely worked. After an hour of back and forth we were finally given another car, which was ok, but also high milage (<200k).
But when we returned it at the end of our rental, they accused us of causing (literally a) scratch on the bumper, for which they charged us 700 euros. We were yelled at and the manager was as rude as you could imagine. Because of the switch of car, I had not photographed the second car as I should of done.
Don't rent from these thieves if you have a choice. Look at the other reviews. If you do rent from them, take pictures all around the car before you leave the lot.
Horrible service
Horrible service! The worst rental car I have ever dealt with!! We had to wait for 2 hours to receive our car, though we paid and did all process online. We paid for either Mercedes or VW and we end up with an old Nissan and the lady in the office say “ similar category”!!! Not to mention how rude she was, so old fashioned and unprofessional, reminded me Greece 40 years back!!’ No clue about customer service!!! Definitely never ever again and of course will never recommend it to anyone. What a shame!!!!
They hired my car out to someone else…
They hired my car out to someone else even though I pre paid for the car hire a week prior to picking up the car. I booked the car through booking.com and pre-paid for it and also pre-paid the full insurance. I was running a bit late to get there and so they hired out the car to someone else. They then demanded I pay more money for a better class of car and 3 times the deposit (which amounts to 2500 euros). I refused to do and they refused to refund my money. I further explained this was their fault for hiring out the car I already paid for.
They were not concerned and I could not afford the extra deposit they demanded so I left and my holiday was ruined.
Watch out
Watch out! My deposit was debited and not refunded, only after mediation of booking.com only reluctantly refunded after 3 months. Don't rent a car here anymore, it's too risky.
Volta4u lies
When we took the car all the left side was scratched. They made small signs in the paper. When we returned the car they said there is a scratch that was not in the paper of the car.
I did NOT damaged the car in any way. They wanted to charge more than 700 euro for that. I told them that I did not damaged the car so they went to more than 400 euro. I kept insisting that I did not damaged the car, so they went down to 286 euro and told me: "what do you care - you have insurance" so I told them I'm not a lier - they charged me anyway. Volta4u are tell lies! Keep away from this company!! If not take pictures before you take the car!
