Car was in very poor condition! Was told to take their Insurance which is astronomical high or I couldn’t have the vehicle even though I had my own insurance which they claimed was invalid! Would have been left high and dry if not !!! Lie when you challenge what happened and what was said. Avoid this hire company at all costs and do not trust the positive reviews on this site. Having spent 2 weeks in Italy the overall view of this vehicle hire company is not great at all wherever you go and who you speak to !!!

We booked 3 cars for a week for our holiday. We only had one credit card – as in France, most cards are actually debit cards – and with that single card, it was not possible to secure all 3 cars. Because of this, we were forced to pay an extra charge for the 2 additional cars. This extra fee (612€!!!) was almost the equivalent of the rental price for all 3 cars for the entire week. Outrageous – it felt close to theft.
On top of that, the cars were not clean when delivered (empty bottle, used chewing-gum, etc.).
We were given a Toyota Yaris that was rated as Category C. In my opinion, and compared to other rental companies, this is more of a Category B vehicle.
We tried to find a solution with the employee at the counter, but his manager was absolutely unhelpful. This, despite the fact that we had already submitted all the required documents by email beforehand to make the rental process smoother. No understanding, no flexibility, no customer-oriented service.
In short: avoid this company at all costs!

We wanted to see the Italian countryside so we went to Vivirent last minute to rent a car. The service on site was terrific. The car was so much fun. We ended up coming back a little late and they were very understanding. They turned what could’ve been a very stressful day into a very easy fun day for our family.

Cars were in good condition, no issues at all with the car while we there. Very informative so you know exactly what to do during pick up/drop off. Excellent company

Very good service

I just came in to rent a car for a few days, while visiting friends in San Germano. I had no reservations. It was the beginning of the Ferro Augusto holiday, so things were about to get crazy. I was able to rent a very fun Twingo for 4 days. The agent was very welcoming and spoke perfect English. The entire transaction, including the return took less than 15 minutes. The car was clean and in like new condition. The price was also very reasonable. I definitely recommend this business.

For a scratch on a wheel rim, barely noticeable and probably already present at the start of the rental, this company charged €463 upon return of the car after 16 days. The photos from the start of the rental were too blurry, and again upon return, to reveal the scratch. However, after calculating this disproportionate amount for something they won't repair, they put "no damages" on our return form. So, another customer could be ripped off.
The car was nice and almost new, but if this is common practice, we prefer more used cars that have more signs of normal use.

The car was different than we chose. The scheduled arrival was a plus. Returned fuel was billed back to its original state. If you return it with more fuel, the cost is not refunded.

I highly recommend this car rental in Brindisi. Unfortunately, I had an accident with the rented car, however I received great support from Vivarent staff (including remote translation with the Police, who did not speak English) and they replaced the damaged car. Great service, pick-up from the airport, everything explained, great contact - 5/5!

The car pickup was in Rome trainstation. The return in Rome FCO airport. The pickup time was incorrect (an hour later than my info noted), but this wasn't a problem. They will try to sell you an issurance, but i declined that (price is higher than the rental for a week). After making very much pictures of all scratches (not every scratch was noted in the signed document) we left the parking at Termini trainstation. After a week we returned the car. The car was shortly inspected. The lady made some pictures, and noted there was possibly a scratch. Luckily it was just dirt. The (hard to see) scratches that were there all along from previous owners, weren't noted. Overall the right kind of service you might expext when you rent a car. I would recommend Vivarent to anyone for good service and fair price.

The best customer service I have had from a rental company whilst on holiday. We rented a car for 2 weeks, a large automatic VW that was in excellent condition. We were very happy with the car, and even more so with the excellent customer service provided by the team. Their communication was excellent on arrival, meaning we knew exactly where to meet them on landing. And when returning the car they were also incredibly accommodating with arranging our return in the very early hours. Very responsive to all our questions, and the excellent local restaurant recommendations in Brindisi were a real plus too.

We rented a car for our stay in Sorrento. Everything went well on collection but when we returned our car we explained we were involved in a minor collision with another car. We were charged an extra 500 Euros on top of the deposit and were told we would receive a receipt to claim the cost back on our insurance but after several emails we have had no response. Its a shame as the company were helpful but now leaves a bitter taste as it seems as though they have scammed us out of 500 euros. I see some other customers have had a similar experience.
