Don't waste your time
They were not helpful and do not think they reviewed my case on its merits. From the answer I received I did not feel they are in any way independent from the insurance companies. Looks more like fig leaf for insurance industry. Don't waste your time contacting them.
From my 20+ years of experience with private non-mandatory insurances I draw only one conclusion: avoid all of them as much as you can (except the simplest, cheapest ones, like Haftpflicht). There is always an exclusion for your case and you also do not have the money you paid them in (useless) premiums. Insurances are for people who are willing and able to sue to have their rights enforced.
