What started off as a great experience quickly turned into a very ugly one due to the lack of customer care and understanding to facilitate.
I had clearly explained in advance that I had time constraints due to work and childcare and was travelling from Essex, yet this was repeatedly dismissed. I don't drive and my partner had a hectic schedule. So he wasn't able to take us. Traveling with a buggy on the train isn't easy as some stations don't have lifts. They was not willing to compromise or meet me in the middle. Attending the in-person viewing during the Easter holidays, while my daughter was at gymnastics camp, already felt stressful.
When i arrived i explained my concerns and was met with " its always good to express and say whats on your mind' only to then jump straight into upselling about payment plans and frames. Felt like i was being gas lit. I was so taken back by this. They do not care about you, they are only concerned with what you're going to spend. Its pushy and overwhelming.
During the appointment, despite explaining I needed to leave on time, I felt pressured into making purchases, particularly around frames. This was especially frustrating as I had entered a competition which included a free image and no obligation to purchase more. My 1yr old son was also unwell with the flu which i had also communicated over the phone. When we arrived, during the viewing he became distressed and kept crying, during this again upselling was the main factor.
I was unable to purchase an additional photo without buying a frame with it, which felt unfair and forced extra costs.
Due to the delays even after explaining that i have to leave to pick up my daughter. Once again, dismissed and upselling started all over again. I couldn't believe the lack of people skills that was displayed. This made me uncomfortable, they was not concerned about anything i had to say just if i was going to pay for more images with frames. As a result I was late collecting my daughter and received a late fee. Getting back home was a nightmare it took me 2 hours due to train lifts breaking down. i had to travel all around london to get back home with a unwell baby. I couldn't get an uber because they don't have a baby car seat.
Overall, the experience felt focused on upselling rather than genuine experience along with customer care, which was very disheartening coming from a company like this.
I had sent them an email raising my concerns again. Im YET to hear back from them.

We really enjoyed our photoshoot , despite having a grumpy baby on the day, Hannah managed to get some lovely shots! Going to see the pictures and the movie was fab and we were really impressed. The packages are expensive but reflect the time, effort and care and definitely worth it. Thanks to Hannah and Jo for a great experience x

Through the your baby club I got to experience something that I never thought I would be able to. We had an absolutely amazing 2 hours with Jess who took so many adorable photos of our little man and made us feel at home (we did shed a little tear at how some of the photos turned out). She ran though how everything would go and what to expect during and after, was very patient through the nappies and bottles and fussy moments!
We came back about a week later and had the viewing and video of the photos and I definitely cried so did my mum! Evelyn who showed us, ran though everything that came with the package as well as what would come with the other packages that were on offer and the finance options. Both of these lady's were absolutely amazing! And the staff who also worked there were so polite and friendly! The photos turned out so good we couldn't resist getting a few!(Well... all of them!)

What a brilliant experience. For something that was unusual for our family to do, Georgia was amazing in getting us to relax and enjoy the family photography experience. We were blown away by the results. For someone who would never have thought of doing this, I would highly recommend the studo in Maidstone and indeed Georgia. Really excited for the photoshoot for our newborn twins and toddler at such prestige studio, unfortunately was an immense letdown.
I had explicitly requested the focus to be on the twins, sibling pictures and family shots. My toddler pictures came out with better picture than the twins. The twin individual pictures were very random I.e. random babygrows that came in (we were told to dress them on arrival). As you aren’t shown any pictures as they are taken, you have no idea if you’re even happy with what’s being taken or what’s been taken or what else you’d like.
The range of pictures received at the end were so limited, they all looked more or less the same so choosing a couple was not easy not because I loved them all. The preview prior to coming in for the viewing was pretty crap, best word to describe. It was 20seconds long and the pictures did not exactly set a great tone for the viewing as I could see they weren’t great. Which I can compare to friends experience at the same period in a different venture studio down south who received 3minute preview with likely triple the amount of pictures.
We did end up purchasing for the sake of having the memory and missing that newborn window to get their picture taken elsewhere, a dear £500. I also needed to ask for basic touch ups to the picture such as my daughter snotty nose to be blurred/photoshopped. Small details you would have expected to be fixed for such an establishment.
They did try to rectify I.e throwing in extra pictures, offered an additional photoshoot after the first session as the twins did not get through the intended 3outfits and making requested changes.
Unfortunately this remains a bad experience and the regret sits heavy I didn’t manage to get nice newborn pictures of the twins at the time as I did with my toddler when she was newborn

I received a complimentary £245 voucher through work and decided to use it to celebrate our baby’s first birthday with a professional photoshoot. In hindsight, I regret not scrutinising the pricing structure more carefully, as it was not clearly presented on the website nor explained at any stage prior to or during the shoot.
We attended our session today (having previously had to stop an earlier session due to our baby becoming unwell). The shoot itself went well, and we were pleased with the experience up until the pricing discussion at the end.
When the photographer outlined the costs, both my wife and I were genuinely taken aback. We had reasonably assumed that the digital images—particularly via USB—would be included within the shoot package or available at a modest additional cost. However, being quoted £945 for digital photos is, in our view, completely disproportionate.
For context, our wedding photography package was significantly more affordable and included a USB, a professionally printed album, and fully edited images. By comparison, the pricing here feels excessive and poorly justified. While the website mentions a range between £95 and £1000, it does not make it sufficiently clear that this could mean £95 per individual photo, which is highly misleading.
As a result, we now feel extremely disappointed and deflated. What should have been a special and memorable experience to celebrate our child’s first birthday has instead been overshadowed by frustration. We are now reluctant to attend the viewing appointment, knowing that we may not be able to reasonably afford any of the photos.
It is particularly upsetting to think that these moments—captured during what was meant to be a joyful occasion—may ultimately be lost to us due to unclear and, in our opinion, excessive pricing.
We would strongly encourage greater transparency around costs at the outset, so that customers can make informed decisions and avoid similar disappointment.

“Once you’re shown photos of your newborn and family, it’s incredibly difficult to walk away — and I imagine that’s something your studio is well aware of. That kind of emotional pressure, placed on people at such a vulnerable time, can feel a bit exploitative. This is not specific to us either there are countless reviews stating the same thing.
Your packages cost more than many full-day wedding photographers, and while I respect the work that goes into editing, it’s hard to see how that cost is justified.”

From the start of receiving the email to say we could book the shoot the staff have been fantastic. Lois was our photographer and she had her work cut out for her with my crazy bunch of 5 all very big personalities with some adhd to add to it. She was fantastic with them all friendly warm and very open to some poses and direction from the kids themselves on how to best show off their hobbies or skills. The rest of the gang were great with us before (i very much appreciated my coffee thanks dom)and after the sessions and viewing the movie and choosing our pics with the lads was also made very easy and again they tolerated the crazy kids and the 6,7 silliness.. thanks for being such a great bunch and capturing my kids in all their crazy beauty I cannot wait to see our pictures up on the wall 😀 the Richards Gang x

We had the most amazing experience with Venture Photography Studio in Ratby for our bump-to-baby journey! From the very beginning, the team (especially our photographer Lois) made us feel completely comfortable and special, capturing such a meaningful time in our lives with so much care and professionalism.
The maternity shoot was relaxed and beautifully styled, and when we returned with our newborn, they were incredibly patient, gentle, and attentive—nothing ever felt rushed. You can tell they truly love what they do.
When we viewed the images, we were honestly blown away. Every photo captured genuine emotion and precious little details we’ll cherish forever. Choosing our prints wasn’t easy because we loved so many of them.
We’re so grateful to have these memories captured so perfectly and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this studio to anyone looking to photograph their family’s special moments!

Was so anxious about them being pushy for sales after some reviews but not like that at all . Communcating product sales is understandable and everything took us into consideration. Our personal requirement and expectations from the experience were tailored too. The whole stucture of the photoshoot and everything before/after it is very clear and easy. Nice time to remember and a lovely photo to represent the memory of us and baby♡♡♡ Recommend!!! Prices take one star off but thats for the overall company decision makers to reconsider....

From the moment we met Jess, we knew we were in the best hands. She was so friendly and inviting, with a warm, smiley face that instantly put us all at ease. Her passion for photography truly shines through in everything she does. She made my daughter feel like she was the most important person in the world, and somehow even managed to have my 3-month-old chuckling away — which is no small feat!
Jess really listened to our ideas and then ran with them, turning them into something even more beautiful than we could have imagined. She just got it. We recently had a photo experience with Venture Studios and I honestly can’t praise the team enough.
From the moment our photographs were taken through to the viewing appointment, everything has been absolutely fabulous. The staff were friendly, welcoming and genuinely happy, which made the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable.
Before our viewing appointment, the team even checked in with us, which was a lovely touch. When we arrived today we were a little early, but we were warmly welcomed and offered a drink while we waited.
Once we went into the viewing room, everything was clearly explained and any questions we had were answered. Then we were shown the video of our photographs… and I actually cried! Every single picture was amazing and I couldn’t believe how beautiful they all were. I honestly didn’t know how we were supposed to choose.
We were able to go through the photos and decide yes, no, and maybe, and there was absolutely no rushing. The whole process felt special and personal.
Thank you to everyone at Venture Studios for making the whole experience so memorable and emotional. You truly made it feel special from start to finish
