Unimpressed

Trying to buy filters for my ventillation system turns out to be quite a trial, and their prices aren't exactly competitative. Unfortunately, their website doesn't show product dimensions so it's quite easy to purchase the wrong item unless you know the exact model name of the machine. Since their returns email address isn't accepting emails, following their returns procedure doesn't work! Anyway, I did manage to get to talk to someone in Sales who helped to sort things out.

I bought a couple of Vent Axia towel…

I bought a couple of Vent Axia towel rails in 2017. They are ok and have been fine. The heating element failed in one unit and I contacted technical support to find out about a replacement. The resolution was to send a link to a new model of the towel rail costing over £600.
After going back to them they sent me a technical drawing which revealed the towel rail is actually a repackaged Kudox model - you can get Kudox rails on ToolStation at a much lower price.
In the end I worked out that any third party element would work fine in the towel rail.

purchased the MVHR model Sentinel…

purchased the MVHR model Sentinel Econiq Cool-Flow (Ref: 415193), worth around £7,400. The unit completely fails to deliver on its advertised features. It does not cool the air, does not reduce humidity, and is incapable of lowering indoor temperature, regardless of how cold it is outside.

For over a month, I tried to make it work with help from an engineer. I filed multiple reports and exchanged emails with Vent-Axia. Eventually, they agreed to send someone to inspect the system — but the engineer wasn’t even from Vent-Axia and clearly lacked familiarity with the product.

He confirmed there is a fault with the main unit, not just the cooling module. In practice, the unit works like a basic heat recovery fan, recirculating warm, humid air — completely useless and contrary to what was promised.

Vent-Axia’s customer support has been dismissive, evasive, and unhelpful throughout. They now try to blame the unit’s failure on it not having an 83L tank — a detail never clearly stated or relevant to the product’s main advertised function. I was speaking with 3 specialists from them and all of them tried to find ridiculous excuses just to ignore me on then end. Moreover they ignore the report from their on engineer who confirmed me that unit is faulty.
The machine should at the very least be able to bring in cool night air – it doesn’t. What’s worse is that their own engineer admitted it’s faulty, yet Vent-Axia refuses to take responsibility or act accordingly.

Many reviews warned that you’re on your own once you buy — I can now confirm this is absolutely true. Their product is wildly overpriced, falsely advertised, and their after-sales support is a disgrace.

Do not buy from this company. They mislead customers and offer no proper support once they’ve taken your money.

BASICALLY YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN..

We've installed two bathroom fan. One of them is not working, the other one stops when the lights off.
So we asked, how to set the timer and why the other one is not working. We photographe the products in and out, showing every details
They asked which product we purchased? We said we dont know, packaging are long gone. The only info on the product is their brand, Vent Axia.
THEIR ANSWER WAS SHOKING
"We have multiple Silent Fans within our ranges, all of which look similar within the internal components, hence asking for further clarification on the unit you have. If you are unable to tell me what exact product you have, we will not be able to support you. As mentioned, you should have a fan reference on the fan itself" which there isn't.

Svara fan stopped working…new replacement free of charge!

Recently my Svara fan stopped working as it should. It seems these fans don't last long before they pack up, this being the 2nd one I've had. Anyway I emailed them and asked for a replacement unit. Anyway after a few emails and proof of purchase they have sent me out a new replacement free of charge. Couldn't the customer service! Sadly give it a year and this one will probably malfunction too. But with a 5 year guarantee I ain't complaining.

Vent axia lo carb selv fan cord stuck

Vent axia lo carb selv kitchen and bathroom wall mounted fan.
Pull cord activating boost speed does not move (stuck).
Got a new replacement and the cord is still stuck even before installing it.
I cannot believe there is no mention of this common problem anywhere.
Neither the vent axia technical support nor the seller take responsibility or give any guidance on how to resolve this.
Really appalling approach to help customers. Feel totally let down and as an architect I will never specify or buy Vent Axia again.

Beware: Poor Customer Service and Broken App

Bought the Vent Axia Svara Extractor Fan on Apr 2024.
4 months later, their App is broken due to an Android update.

Speaking to Customer Support, they said they're working on a fix for the app and should be resolved in 7 days.

3 weeks later, contacted them again as issue persists. Spoke to manager that basically said, we hope it will be fixed soon but we don't have a time for it. Our product team can't give us that information.

So basically, just sit and wait. I know you can't use our product, but just sit and wait and I hope that the update will be released soon.

Requested some compensation, credit back, etc. to which they said they don't offer these kind of things.

Beware of this company, spend your money elswhere.

VA100XT extractor lasted less than 4 years…

Installed a VA100XT less than 4 years ago, which is used no more than once a day, about 3 years in the timer failed then recently the motor started to fail and gave up.
I have had other extractor brands that have lasted 15 years so I contacted Vent Axia customer services in the hope of perhaps a discount on a replacement as the unit had failed in less than 4 years.
The attitude of the representative could not have been more unsympathetic. Her attitude was basically I had done well to have nearly 4 years use out of the extractor as they only have a 2 year warranty!
These units are not cheap and it is disappointing that the company attitude is that if you get more than the warranted 2 year out of it you are doing well !

Terrible products that reliably last…

Terrible products that reliably last 2-5 years and then need replacing. I have vent axia units in 4 new build properties and 30-50% of units in each property have had to be replaced in 2 years to 5 years. 50% of bigger heat exchange units lasted 8 years before the motors died… the parts are more expensive than replacing the unit. It’s a great business model - build products that will reliably fail just outside of warranty so that consumers keep buying those products. I would not buy another vent axia product but I’ll buy their shares if they’re going. Rubbish brand, poor quality - shame on you!

New build with their stupid air system…

New build with their stupid air system thingy installed.
Only seems to shift hot air around the flat, useless.
What is the point of a system that pumps in the air from outside? So in the summer it blows hot air inside and winter cold air (fighting the central heating so not efficient in any way shape or form).
Even the heating engineer who came to show me how it works said it's a farce and to turn it off.
Switched off and dumped!

Vent-Axia clean air system

My flat has installed a Vent-Axia clean air system by the builder. After bathing, the humidity inside the toilet takes a long time to go away even if the boost button is turned on. An operative from I-Mex came to inspect and told me the device needed an engineer from Vent-Axia to come to check because the air hole could not hold even a very thin toilet paper. I-Mex told me they had asked Vent-Axia a number of time to call me to book an appointment. A week has passed but I am still waiting for Vent-Axia to call me.

Terrible customer service attitude

I live in a retirement apartment and a Vent-Axia ventilation system was installed when it was built in 2016.
I have had it faithfully serviced every year by them and the cost is expensive.
Last summer it started making a loud noise and it appears that the motor isn’t working correctly.
This was a very difficult time for this to happen as my husband began treatment for throat cancer and everything was put on hold, including arranging repair to the ventilation system.
The house manager at our development was making enquiries for me at the time and I was told it would cost £250 to have a new motor installed. That is a lot of money for a pensioner, considering the yearly service costs just a few pence short of £60! I was told that if this had happened a year or so before, Vent-Axia wouldn’t have charged as it would have been covered in the service charge.
So after agreeing to having a replacement back in October, we are still waiting.
I try to open windows to let in fresh air but it is difficult when the temperature drops.
My husband continues to have breathing difficulties, especially at night, and having no ventilation, which greatly reduces the dust particles in the air, his problems are exacerbated. I rang Vent-Axia in December and asked for help in getting the motor replaced as soon as possible, explaining about my husband’s health.
I was told bluntly that everybody has their own story! If I wasn’t so desperate to have it repaired, I would have told them what they could have done with their motor.
My house manager has been contacting them but with no response.
They want to come to do a service on the development in March. My guess is that they will wait till then.
So £60 spent last year and at least 6 months without it working. Now they want £250.
Awful after sales care and customer services.

AVOID THIS COMPANY

I had invested years ago with vent axia extractor fan thinking I was paying for quality. To be honest thought the extractor fan to be excellent but the customer service since, has left a very bad taste in the mouth.!!
I unfortunately had a fire nextdoor which affected the fan so I ordered another 12inch extractor only to find that it should have been a 9inch...so on returning the 12inch and ordering a 9" vent axia I have been presented with a "restocking charge" of over £350 for them to take the 12inch back.!!!
NEVER GOING TO BUY FROM THAT COMPANY AGAIN........
BEWARE OF THIS SCAM.

Customer service after sales was amazing.. i had to find replacement for the faulty sensors in my unit and Rizzy the customer service advisor went many miles extra to make sure my issue was taken care of. Her quick response to emails, immediate clarity of the issue at hand really was excellent. All in all it took several weeks to resolve my problems, but she stayed in regular contact. I really would like to thank her for all the effort!
