Venmo clowns

Well, accidentally brushed my thumb across the screen while some firewood was being offloaded from a dump truck. Was told that we couldn't cancel the transfer initiated, and now $700 has been tied up for over a week in The ether. The inability to cancel a transfer within a couple minutes of an accidentally being made is the stupidest thing I have heard of in nearly my entire life. I'm sure someone down the road will impress me a little more. Pure idiocy and lunacy. Nice job clowns...

This company is pathetic all the time asking for bank account or ID or some other excuses not to let me have my account one time it says couldn't verify me then it said account was frozen even calling support they said everything looked fine but it sure isn't

Extremely bad customer service!

When I signed up for Venmo account, they froze it for no reason. I reached out to customer service. They just kept saying to respond to the email they sent me to unfreeze it. I never received an email. Live chat said they would resend the email still have not received it. Their customer service is horrible and they don’t seem to want to help you at all.

Unauthorized transactions

On November 6th I transferred money into my Venmo account and immediately it gets drained. I contacted Venmo and they froze the account and canceled my card and will dispute the transactions. 1 day later they denied my claim saying they did a thorough investigation and I made the transactions. I told them I dont know this company and never had dealings with them ever and asked if I could get them to check my past transactions to see i dont use my card I only use the account to send my family money. The reopen the investigation and return a day later saying my claim was denied. They say they done another thorough investigation and being im the card holder i made the transactions. These transactions are to a company named Breeze and the took money 7 times in a row from my Venmo account all in 1 hours time. Venmo refuse to give me my money. I have emails from Venmo saying they did a thorough investigation and found i made the transactions then they email me back changing it saying being that I was the card holder I made the transactions, they are scammers and will not help you recover your funds

Horrible support

Horrible support. I have sent them multiple emails about a balance that they have wrong, and they just ignore what I say and send the same thing over and over without acknowledgment. Worst support I have experienced in years.

One star is too many!

Nov. 2025 - Signed up for Venmo account. Tried to use it ... encountered multiple roadblocks. Instructions for funding account extremely limited and unclear. Apparently, a Google "Wallet" & a Venmo Debit are also necessary ... but never mentioned! Getting one's identity verified is required, but very difficult ... and, once done, it doesn't seem to stick! Have to do it again, and, again ... or, get "try again", later! Instructions on the Venmo "APP", for adding money to one's account are maddening, because there is no "Add Money" button! Live Customer Service is Unavailable!

Occasional use only!!

This app is fine for occasional use and small $$ amounts. I've used it for about 2 years and all is well... Until....I now need to pay a handy man for lots of labor and material. After a days of payments sent, it seems my account is frozen. I have sent customer service messages.. and they say its the Venmo algorithms that is limiting my transactions. Give it a few days and Try again next week. Ugh! you get a good thing going and they pull the rug!

Good and Bad

While I appreciate the usual reliability of the app, I don’t like that Instant transfers sometimes will NOT be INSTANT. No ability to speak with a human in their Customer Service department. Add the combined amount of time spent calling all of the numbers and listening to all of the options to find it all of a circle being run by a machine.. Otherwise they are easy to use.

absolutely pathetic for business. no website access, app only. support cant do anything, cant pay people with funds outside that of Venmo balance. avoid at all cost. biggest pain. and it seems that only have problems with the tools they don't collect a 3% fee on imagine that.

I had an unauthorized charge show up on my account on 11/16/25 I contacted Venmo directly to dispute or cancel the charge and they stated that the charge has to be completed before a dispute can begin. Their system is flawed in that are charge has to go through before a dispute! This is the most ignorant way to handle financial transactions!! Use Zelle or Chime or any of the other Cash Apps.

So many errors

I'm in the process of going to a bunch of review sites and all my social media to tell people how bad this app is. The app has so many errors when trying to set it up , can't create a group, cant add bank account, technical support is not available and my account was froze as soon as I created it. After a week I still can't use the app.

Non existent customer service

I have unsuccessfully attempted for a week to log in to my account using the User ID and password that I have previously used. All that I get is "Something went wrong. Try again later". The chat room is useless and it is impossible to speak to a human.

I had $200 in my account I had a transaction for $36 they overdrafted my account basically because two days after the fact they charged me $6 and said that they had only previously been able to recover the $30 I told them that it should have all came out at once because the next transaction should have been automatically deducted after that first transaction instead of partial payments so basically I got ripped off they're taking money out of my account twice

Venmo has multiple technical issues…

Venmo has multiple technical issues that make it nearly impossible to add money to your balance or complete purchases, even on eBay. Their support team is quick to shift the blame instead of fixing the real problem it’s honestly disappointing and feels unprofessional. I’ve since managed my transactions through Bluevestapty, which has been far more reliable and efficient. It’s refreshing to finally deal with a platform that actually works smoothly and values its users.

Can't access money I was sent.

Think twice before you send anyone money via Venmo. I was sent a small amount of money and set up an account. I can not access the money! I've called, tried the chat, gone through everything on their 'Help' page on the website and they have my money. I can't figure out a way to get it this money into my bank account. In comparison, Zelle works beautifully. I would never recommend Zenmo.

Venmo randomly closed my account with specific reasoning, would place unexpected holds on crypto for 24 to 48 hours preventing you not to send which is Completely horrendous. Shouldn't come as a surprise for a PayPal owned company 🤔

Bogus app for users.

Venmo does not allow one to delete old accounts with a zero balance. It also does not allow one to delete invalid bank cards! Worse, it does allow one to add current valid accounts! This is by far, for the user, the most UNFRIENDLY app ever.
