Terrible company
Terrible company. Even if your son gets hurt and you cancel because he can't work out, they charge you with no exceptions or refunds. Not only that, they charge you an additional month and hit you with a cancelation fee. I have never seen that in all the gyms that I have worked out in. What a rip off
What used to be a gym with availability…
What used to be a gym with availability for classes and machines has quickly become an example of corporate greed. How many members do you possibly need? Since January, classes are full and it's hard to sign up at peak level classes such as 6 am. In addition, so many people are flaky, and don't show up, taking spots from people who are consistent about showing up. Instructors are great, and it's too bad that less than a year since the gym has been open, I have to look for a gym where I can get a work out in.
Pool is closed without notice
Pool is closed without notice. Both at Thompson and w38th street and they have no idea when will be fixed. Bathrooms are dirty

Was told by one of the assistants that if I buy a the one month free membership the only fee I would be charged is the $25 cancellation fee. However I was then charged for the following month even though I was told otherwise. Ended up being charged $73. This gym is scamming you.

I would give this place no stars if possible.
Bad customer service
Bad customer service, crowded layout.
Machine tore, broken or dirty. Treadmill falling apart. Women locker in horrible spot.
awful gym just cancelled today after…
awful gym just cancelled today after hours of trying to figure out. ILL BE THAT PERSON. IF I COULD GIVE THIS PLACE A 0 STAR RATING I WOULD. AND I DONT LEAVE REVIEWS EVER. They give out cheap memberships to people who don’t even care to work out they just sit on the machine for an hour while you’re waiting on it. I wouldn’t be surprised if i found out the gym hadn’t been cleaned since opened. used to love going on the stair master but it stinks of BO and you can see drips of sweat from other users all over the stairs and down the sides. Scary gym equipment it’s old and i fear i’ll injure myself using them. sticky plates that just slam down during sets. PACKED ALL OF THE TIME. If you’re going to allow that many people to have memberships at least make the gym 24 hours so it’s not condense like that. sitting shoulder to shoulder with sweaty people in the sauna and steam room. haven’t used any of the amenities really because i doubt the cleanliness of everything in there. I’ve been going there for over a year and it’s only gotten worse and worse. wish i never signed up with them. shoulda just gone to summit. If you’re a women there’s creepy dudes lurking and they are not there to work out. i’ll copy and paste this on every single one of their review accounts. i’ve worked at planet fitness and didn’t even like it but would pay them with my first child if it meant i would never have to walk into vasa fitness ever again.
Know Your Customers
After 20 years in business Vasa still doesn't understand their customers. Walk into any Utah County Vasa and survey what's playing on their TV monitors. For example, today Spanish Fork's 18 aerobic screens had the following:
4 CNN anti Republican/Trump
3 Fox news
3 ESPN
2 Shopping channel?
2 MSNBC anti Republican/Trump
1 Fitness score
1 Business
1 Unknown
1 Not working
So conservative, family, fitness and sports oriented Spanish Fork patrons prefer those stations? Only 17% like sports? 50% prefer the news with 67% liberal news? 11% want to watch the shopping channel at the gym?
If I could give no stars I would
***Update* Vasa did refund my money after this post.***
If I could give no stars I would. Sign up for new membership on there no fees until March and they charge your bank the full fee! Even when you go to cancel they refuse to refund your money! Scam artists!
The VASA gym is sneaky
The VASA gym itself is great! When you cancel your membership VASA is very sneaky. They don’t document cancellations and on their app they have a way to cancel a membership and not guest privileges. I looked at the app and realized I was paying for guest services still, so I cancelled the guest privileges. The text agent asked if I had an email to prove it? Seriously?! She knew they don’t send emails. Because, I didn’t take a screenshot and couldn’t prove it, I had the yearly fee and other monthly fees in addition to an extra month after cancelling my membership. I cancelled in December and was told I’d be charged the last time in December and was charged in January as well!
How ridiculous and unethical. Just know you should watch your bank account for added fees. Like I said they are sneaky!
Predatory Billing Practices
Gym itself is fine and staff is friendly. Be very careful and understand the contract you are signing. Vasa billing practices seem predatory. They charge fees to cancel or downgrade your membership. It is done in a way to insure you a billed another month. Paramount Acceptance their bill company is horrible to deal with. Super aggressive and rude. I would use caution! I will also add management is quick to respond to the negative review but failed to return a call after leaving two separate messages. Just be careful.
DO NOT SIGN UP FOR VASA
I had an awful experience with Vasa. They try to trick you with their plans. Watch out for the surprise $50 annual fee on top of your monthly fee. I froze my account for 3 months but they still charged me for it and told me they have no documentation of trying to freeze it so I have to pay. The lady did not care about my story she only wanted to get off the phone as quickly as possible. Good luck trying to cancel your plan too. Cost me another $30 and 2 hours of my life that I will never get back. The people at the gym are nice but their customer service is awful and corporate tries to squeeze as much money out of you as possible. Never had a bad experience with a gym until now. Never wrote a review until now. Extremely disappointing especially when all I want to do is workout.
Absolute RIPOFF
Absolute RIPOFF! Signed up for spin classes because my previous gym for 10 years starting shortening classes, which I explained to Vasa when signing up. 6 weeks later, they completely cut two of the four classes that I could attend and refused to cancel without charging extra fees. I had no control of the classes being canceled. After researching this appears to be what they have done to many, many people. DISGRACEFUL!! Oh......and you have to talk to a third party company to cancel, no one from Vasa company, wonder why.....
The Vasa in Ogden apparently does not…
The Vasa in Ogden apparently does not have yoga for everybody. I have never done yoga just wanted the opportunity to try. I have mobility issues and I am a little overweight. Doctor suggested I do yoga to gain some mobility back yeah right I can't do any of the positions and having the other people and the instructor snicker at me because I'm a fatty doesn't help. I'm just going to look for YouTube videos for fat people cuz clearly Vasa doesn't care
The level of support I’ve received from…
The level of support I’ve received from the staff is outstanding. From my first day, I was assigned a fitness coach who worked with me to develop a personalized workout plan tailored to my needs. They’ve been there to guide me every step of the way, celebrating my successes and helping me overcome challenges.
The classes offered are diverse and engaging. I particularly enjoy the Zumba and Pilates sessions, which keep me moving and having fun while breaking a sweat. Each instructor brings their unique flair, ensuring that no two classes are ever the same.
What stands out most is the sense of community. The gym fosters an inclusive environment, making it easy to connect with others. I've made lifelong friends here, and we often motivate each other to stick to our goals.
I was working with a personal trainer…
I was working with a personal trainer who quit, so I went in to cancel my plan. The front desk staff canceled my upcoming appointments, but I later discovered they continued billing me for months. When I contacted them to request a refund and stop the charges, they refused to issue a refund and told me they couldn’t stop the billing for another month. The company has terrible customer service and seems to be all about nickel-and-diming customers. I would recommend avoiding this place entirely.
Poor Facilities and Unhelpful Customer…
Poor Facilities and Unhelpful Customer Service
I attended VASA for two weeks, hoping for a positive gym experience, but it was far from that. The facility does not have enough weights or fitness equipment to accommodate its members. Almost every day, I had to wait at least an hour to use any equipment. When I finally got access, there were not enough free weights for everyone, and my sets were frequently interrupted because other members would take the weights I was using during my rest periods. It was impossible to finish a workout effectively.
Additionally, their customer service is terrible. I contacted an agent to cancel my membership after being charged nearly $100 for a membership I barely used. The agent was unfriendly, repeatedly interrupted me, and showed no concern for the issues I raised about my experience at the gym. Despite my complaints, they refused to offer a refund or even a partial refund. I was also charged a yearly fee and a cancellation fee on top of that, which feels incredibly unfair given my short membership duration and poor experience.
VASA needs to invest in enough equipment to meet customer demand and implement policies that ensure members can complete their workouts without constant disruptions. They should also train their customer service staff to listen empathetically and assist customers with legitimate concerns.
For anyone considering a gym membership, I strongly advise looking elsewhere. VASA seems more focused on taking money from its members than providing a quality experience or addressing customer concerns.
Unsafe and horrible smell.
Water leaking in from the roof several places in the gym in East Colfax in Aurora. They kept mopping it up but that was difficult on the green carpet. Now the green carpet stinks like mold. It’s a disgusting smell. They just want the smell to go away but it’s not. This is not a safe situation!! Reported it to the desk who was wearing a mask because of the smell!!!!
VASA Experience
I have only been a member for one day so I cannot speak to their customer service but I can't tell you what I observed on my first day at the gym. First of all it was clean. The steam room and the jacuzzi we're both also clean as well as the shower area and the mens locker room. Before you write a complaint make sure you identify if it is at the location or a corporate issue. I have not tried to cancel so I cannot really speak to that either. I use the location in Oswego illinois. The only thing I noticed so far is that most of the people there do not use the machines or do the exercises properly. This is not the gyms fault it is the members fault for not taking advantage of them showing you the proper way to do things. Too many people think they already know how to do things in that it looks so easy but trust me people, you do one exercise at the wrong angle and you can put yourself out of commission for a long time. Everything has a right way if you want to make gains. The staff still seems to be friendly and helpful but if that changes I will come back and write a new review. All the complaints I see below When I Look to see where it was it's not listed. You cannot judge a chain of health clubs based on one location. Everything has to be put into perspective when you write a review.
