Overcharged due to Varuste errors
Varuste made numerous mistakes on their customs paperwork resulting in a completely unnecessary charge of £46 by UK customs. They repeatedly denied their errors and when I pointed them out to them (on their own paperwork) they did absolutely nothing to resolve the problem. Following threats of additional charges I was left to clear up after them and pay for their errors. Really poor attitude. If you make a mistake then you should take responsibility for it.

Varuste is my favourite store
Varuste is my favourite store. As a customer from Australia, we can't source locally many of the excellent Scandinavian, German and other European brands that varuste stocks. Any retailers importing quality hiking gear add huge margins, so I really appreciate being able to purchase quality gear directly at reasonable prices. The merchandise arrives ridiculously quickly and the shipping is priced reasonably. The outlet options are fantastic and even better value - I just wish they had more stock!

Customer service hard to reach but eventually helpful
Unfortunately it was next to impossible to reach customer service. Noone answered the phone, no chat was available, and it took days to get an answer by mail. When that answer finally came, my questions weren't answered and obviously neither my mails nor the comments I had made when placing our order had been read. We bought ski equipment and wanted to arrange pick-up at the store in Helsinki which unfortunately is not an option for international customers, and we wanted to make sure the skis and bindings were ready mounted when we got there. Didn't get any confirmation and have no idea if things will work out.
UPDATE: once we finally got an answer from customer service, everything was quickly and efficiently resolved to our full satisfaction. So I’m changing the number of stars to four, would’ve given five if communication had been more efficient. Also a suggestion: it would be great if it was possible to order things and pick them up at the store also as a foreign customer.

This website is a scam. After I purchased clothing, they sent me a separate bill for duty and customs—amounting to half the price of the items I bought. When I refused to pay, they returned the shipment and charged me a hefty fine.
Beware! They hide these extra customs and duty fees until after you complete your purchase.

Very Good customer service
I'm changing my initial opinion because Varuste was able to help me with the delivery problem I encountered with FedEx, who didn't deliver the parcel once it arrived in France and returned it for no reason. Customer service was very responsive and was even able to send me a backpack by express delivery so that I could have it before I went on holiday. I really appreciate the responsiveness and understanding of customer service. I received my bag in 2 days! Well done to Varuste for solving this problem.
I don't recommend using FEDEX for delivery. DHL delivered express without any problems!
The bag is amazing and also the reduced price on it :)

On January 15, 2025 I contacted Customer support "Sealskinz" asking to know what is going to happen with my order, the response of an employee named Karina was that the package is already at customs and he does not know anything more, but he informed me that he will request information from the courier.
