gift bought broke within 30 days,no refund/replacement

my wife bought a vape mod and 6x batterys for my birthday from them, arrived fairly quickly, but within a month it stopped working. I paid £5 to return it but instead of replaciing or fixing it, was told vape liquid had somehow splashed inside a magnetically sealed battery compartment which they sent me pics of, and refused to replace or fix it-chances of me not noticing vape liquid spilled inside battery compartment when i removed the batterys to return it sounds VERY unlikely, and seems staged as excuse to negate replacing my less than 30 day old gift from them and reimbursing postage costs. For this reason i will ensure my wife never orders from them again for me, and i certainly will not order from them. (i have been vaping 5 yrs and have never had any of my mods get e liquid spilled onto the batteries, and mod i returned if anything had the best replacable battery sealed compartment of any of my mods! ) They even wanted to charge me to send the mod back broken or would dispose of free-thanks a bunch vape101....

Hi there, I don't think you understand. You allowed your tank to leak, liquid will always take the path of least resistance which is through your 510 (the part your tank screws onto) and directly into the internals of your device which caused the damage we clearly evidenced in the pictures.
We are not an insurance company, you are responsible for using your goods responsibly and sensibly. We state on our website to never allow a tank to leak. We deal with returns most days, it is standard practice for vaping companies. You seem to be suggesting we put eliquid in your device AND melted your terminals!!!!!! Anything but accepting responsibility for your own actions.

At this stage I feel it would be best to return the device to us for further testing. Please print and fill out the following form and include it with the returned device and the original box. If you do not have access to a printer, then a hand written note will suffice. Please also ensure the device is clean and free of any e-liquid prior to sending. Thank you.

We will test the device to ensure it is faulty but please be aware that if no fault is found then the device will have to be returned to you and a payment of £3 will be charged in order to cover the return postage cost. If a fault is found, then we can replace or refund the device at your discretion.

I have received your mod today and upon examination I can see that some form of liquid, most likely e-liquid, has worked its way inside of the mod and onto the battery terminal on the lower left side. Resulting in the fault you described.

At this stage there is nothing further we can do as such damage inflicted by the end user would not be covered. With this in mind, I will have to return the product to you.

I understand this is not the most desirable outcome, my apologies. If you do not wish to have to pay to have to have it returned to you then we can dispose of the mod for you.

I can understand your frustration but no devices are water or liquid proof, it is absolutely essential to ensure your tank does not leak. We cover this in our terms and conditions (shown below). Simple and routine checking and maintenance would avoid such issues.

V101 - With the previous email in mind, I shall copy in three photographs showing the condition that the mod arrived in. As you can see there is clear signs of liquid in the interior of the device as well as the damaged terminals and the exterior of the device having melted.

Customer support in complete denial

Customer support in complete denial, I’m local to Aberdeen and 3 out of the 30ish orders I’ve made were sent down to Glasgow for some reason, causing a pointless delay.

I tried to ask customer support for a way to mitigate this, they are just in denial saying all orders are sent to Glasgow MC despite me having the 30+ tracking numbers from previous orders, all of which minus the problematic few were not sent to Glasgow.

Apparently it’s possible for the majority of parcels to arrive next day despite being in Aberdeen late the night before, “getting sent 4+ hours down to Glasgow and back up” yet arriving by 1pm and the tracking mysteriously doesn’t show Glasgow anywhere…

Statistically impossible… wasn’t a huge issue but when you have customer support who won’t even recognise an issue you are better off going elsewhere, who knows how they would act if the issue was more serious.

Edit:

Some of the language used towards a paying customer that they left out of the conversation below;

We do not need your sorts business”

This is interesting^ as I had just inadvertently mentioned my religion after he used the lords name in vain, it’s implied that by ‘your sorts’ he is discriminating against a particular religion.

He also decided to phone my number via his personal phone, which I did not agree to so is a breach of GDPR, my phone number is now in his personal device, not on a secure server somewhere.

I submitted a SAR, he replied with laughing emojis.

To clarify i live 40 minutes away from the shop, the service I use for postage is irrelevant, the time it takes to get here is irrelevant, as you can see below I simply asked if there was a way to mitigate a few of the orders getting sent to Glasgow first, immediately he lies and tells me all orders get sent to Glasgow first (despite me having tracking from the majority of orders showing they go straight from Aberdeen to my local post office).

Ultimately the agent I spoke with is dishonest, discriminatory and snide.

Wouldn’t recommend at all, there are plenty of other alternative vape shops, even locally.

If you have a problem with this company be prepared to be called every name under the sun!

I will see what trading standards think.

FYI;

I said 30ish, it’s easy to overestimate, immediately plays the ‘liar’ card over a benign mistake.

We explained to you how all couriers that service Aberdeen work but you somehow know better? But wouldn't call any of them to confirm.

You - I’m from Aberdeenshire, when I order the buffoons at royal mail keep sending my parcels to Glasgow for some bizarre reason this is the 3rd time it’s happened, delaying delivery for absolutely no reason, I’m literally 40 mins away.

Is there a way I can mitigate this because I order from you for fast delivery but at this point I might aswell go elsewhere if they are going to send my order around the country every time.

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We agree it is annoying but the issue is that Glasgow is the closest Royal Mails sorting center to Aberdeen. So, all parcels go there to get sorted for the proper locations. I checked your order and can see that Tracked 48 was used this is a 2-4 working day service. Tracked 24 will be 1-2 working days and Guaranteed Next Day is the only one that Royal Mail is able to Guarantee for next day delivery.

We are really sorry but this is something that is out of our control, all shipping companies send the parcels to the main sorting hub before they come back. We are away to add DPD back on as a shipping courier, which might be a faster option however like Royal Mail, UPS they too send all parcels to their main sorting office before they end up coming back for delivery. This is standard all across all courier companies, they tend to have their main hubs in bigger cities.

You - It’s only been sent to Glasgow 3 times out of probably 30, usually it arrives the next day after dispatch, you can check the tracking on all my previous orders for proof of that.

And regardless of service used, whenever I post anything myself to anybody local it arrives next day, hence why I just use tracked 48.

Will be ordering from elsewhere from now on due to the misinformation you just provided, sounds like excuses.

Your tracking may not show it's journey to Glasgow but that's exactly what happens. All couriers ship all parcels to their hubs before distributing across the UK.

But we are not lying, you could easily verify with the couriers yourself.

You - Okay so you are telling me every order I make shows it arriving at Aberdeen MC late the night before it’s delivered, gets sent down 4 hours+ to Glasgow and back up all within the same day and gets delivered by 1pm, they also mysteriously don’t add that part of the journey to the tracking on 95%+ of the orders I make… Is there some new telepathic delivery system RM are using or are you taking me for a laugh?

My local postie gos and gets all the post at 8-9ish, so that scenario is statistically impossible.

Why is it the couple ones that do show Glasgow MC on the tracking arrive a day or two later than the ones that just show Aberdeen MC?
