I have just parked at Southampton with a pre-booked slot. On arrival, the system would not recognise my number plate. Fearing the worst, I pressed the Assistance button and almost immediately an attendant replied. She immediately understood my problem and a ticket was issued for the Priority Parking area, And I was told to use this ticket when I returned and tried to exit. She said that the machine would try to make me pay but that what Idshould do was again to call for assistance. In under a minue the barrier was up and I was on my way home. Obviously it was the technology that was not up the job, but BCP was in the way this glitch was handled. Well done.
