This is the most frustrating dating app I’ve ever been on and the worst part is they claim to be Christian. You don’t really have access to other profiles unless you pay. The app has technical issues and when you contact Customer Service they have no clue what’s going on. They keep asking for the email you sign in with but you don’t use an email, you use a phone number! And when I gave them the phone number, they said they couldn’t access the account. It’s just nonstop frustration.
A Low-Ball Playing Dating App(Company)
After being hijacked by this dating app called Upward, I did a little research. (I wish I had done this before I threw in my $78 plus dollar )
Not only was I NOT allowed to send a single message after being played a low ball where the system asks to upgrade in order to have more functions(presumably sending msg), I paid another $55.99 on top of an initial as an beginning member $ 22.49, I now become their premium member. I thought I could immediately talk as a dating platform where communication is a common key, but to my SUPRISE, the system pops up another upgrade screen asks AGAIN for a payment at $2.99 for 3 messages with other optional choices.
That very evening I emailed their "care team" asking for a refund, a person called Jonnel H. replied saying that they need to confirm I am a rightful member, and listed requirements for me to prove my identity. Sure enough, I did what they asked by emailing the proofs. To my DISMAY, this time NO ONE ever replied to me rather than an AUTOMATIC machine answering in a diplomatic way.
Let me go back to the review I did get, this Upward ends up is a branch product stems from Match Group, including Match, Hinge, Tinder dating apps. BUT UPWARD dating app is specifically targeting Christian people who have faith. They are using people 's faith to hook us into believing they are more sincere and real in getting people to a true match. I feel TRULY SHAMED by using this dating app! I hope this feedback will help them to either improve their service or to those who have not got trapped get a glimpse of how it feels like joining this app. I have asked my bank to charge back the two transaction, not sure if it will go through. Another lesson I paid for. Thank you!

They show one picture then say nobody else is available. It will not let you just search
It won’t let you tect people to see if they are interested
I am disgusted with this site!!
Poor / non existing customer service

Can I give zero stars?
Can I give zero stars? What a rip off! I’m mid 60s and keep getting likes from men under 40 and over 80. I list the age and mileage of who I might be interested and continually get men more than ten years past my limit or those who live 750 and 1,000 miles away. And then after swiping past them, have them appear the next day. The only way to block the 80 year olds and the 40 year olds that pop up is to block them. Further, as a supposedly Christian site, there are many profiles where….. let’s just say the fruits of the spirit don’t seen apparent. I’ve finally blocked my profile, made sure my future subscriptions were cancelled, and deleted the app.
TOTAL SCAM!
TOTAL SCAM!! You will get zero likes and zero views even after paying for the platinum subscription. I even sent 15 messages out to random people and received zero responses. Paid 40 bucks for 1 month and was off the site in 1 week. They kept my money. SCAM!!!

I recieved an email last week stating that my profile picture had been removed because to violated their policy concerning inappropriately pictures. If I remember correctly, I took a picture of a blank area as a temporary picture. What the heck??
Terrible experience. Threaten. The worse verification and customer service experience I’ve ever had. Completely soul-less responses.
I’m very much an introvert, and because of my work travels, I rarely have time to connect with people face to face. So dating apps have been really helpful for meeting new people and building connections — not just for dating, but for making new friends too.
The only major downside for me is that I’ve been wanting to connect more with other Christians. So, a few days ago, I decided to download Upward since it was being advertised as a Christian dating app. I downloaded it, filled out my profile, and did some swiping.
After a few hours, I noticed I wasn’t getting any likes, which is unusual for me. I say that not out of pride but honesty — I know I’m attractive. So, I decided to submit the photo verification. Keep in mind, it was bedtime, and obviously, I didn’t have makeup on or my hair styled like in my photos, lol. I submitted the verification, and it was rejected.
I figured maybe it was a glitch. I actually prefer to do my verifications early on dating apps so people can feel reassured that I’m a real person — not a bot, lol. So, I tried submitting the verification again. But this time, they locked me out of my account.
It was strange because it didn’t say I’d been banned. It just asked me to contact customer care, which I did. But the customer service was cold and soulless. They didn’t explain anything about why I couldn’t log in — they just sent me a link to appeal my ban. That’s actually how I found out I had been banned. No explanation. When I asked for more details, they threatened me. Truly soulless behavior.
Out of all the secular dating apps I’ve tried, this was by far the worst experience — and it’s supposed to be a Christian dating app. There’s another Christian app I’ve had for nearly three years, and I’ve never had any problems with it. I even had an issue once on one of the major secular platforms, and when I contacted their customer support, they were incredibly helpful and resolved the issue right away. I’ve had great customer service and fast verification processes on those apps — never any issues. Until Upward.
I was only on the app for less than 24 hours. Lucky for them, I’ll be making a video about my experience, since I have a Christian following on my social media platforms. They need to be called out for their cold, soulless customer service — especially considering I submitted my verification voluntarily, only to be rejected twice. And I had no likes or no matches within the time I was on it. It’s honestly disheartening how they responded to me and also threaten me, telling me they will ignore and dismiss my appeal just because I asked them why I was banned. I am so embarrassed this is a “Christian” dating apps because the secular ones are doing better. I thank God other Christian apps like the one that starts with S. I should have never tried upward.
If I could give ZERO STARS- I would!
If I could give ZERO STARS- I would. They are a total scam. They keep taking $97.41 From my bank through Google somehow- and I never chose any options to PAY FOR ANYTHING! I had to change my debit card- and they still somehow took the money this month from my account! Another $97.41 you cannot stop them!
My bank is now researching this fraud again and I may have to get another debit card!! Horrible horrible scammers!
Terrible dating app
I have filters set in the app. To limit it to 50 miles from me, and ages 40-60. But everytime I go back in everything reset to fully open. I've had boys who are 18 liking my profile, and I'm almost 38. EEEWWW!!!! I've had guys who are 1 mile away, to 800 miles away. Long distance relationships don't work. Been there, done that. Most guys are on there just to get laid. Most just have pictures, with a "Send me a DM". I've seen alot of guys who "don't know" if they want to be Christians or not on thier profile. I paid for 1 week of subscription. Not renewing it. Im going to try another Christian dating website.
If they fixed the filter issue, to apply it and keep it applied until changes by the subscription owner are made, they would get more business, however everyone is having the same problem with filter.

We are so happy that we met each other.we would love to send you all wedding pictures.
Horse #rap!
When you are a paid subscriber, they show you NOT SO DESIREABLE PROFILES, repeatedly! When you stop paying/membership ends, they send you all kinds of profiles of these AMAZINGLY GOOD LOOKING/EXTREMELY DESIREABLE GODLY CHRISTIANS.
Sooooo disappointing.
DISAPPOINTED!! I was banned from the app without an explanation
I was excited to find a large Christian dating app, so I created an upward account. The next day, I saw that I was banned and locked out of my upward account. I emailed customer support thinking it was a technical issue, but I was sent a response saying that their decision is final and I'll no longer be allowed to use the app - without an explanation. I'm not one to break rules, so I'm very confused about how I could be banned from this app.
I'm posting this review to warn people to approach with caution. The communication felt very cold and corporate. My expectations for this app were probably way too high. Very disappointed.
This app is a scam
This app is a scam! Every time you try to interact the site wants you to upgrade! It’s a ponzi scheme
This site is awful
This site is awful, I paid for a subscription and a day later I couldn't access my account, and when I request help from support, they never answered my question as to why I no longer had access and never fix the problem I requested a full refund and they referred me to google. I followed all thier suggestions and 2 weeks later I still can't access my account! These site is a rip off.
Money hungry lying bastards
What a joke this dating app is. For being a Christian app, they are money hungry like no other. They claim to be free, nothing is free. I paid 36.00 dollars for the premium, but I still can't see likes. They want another 72.00 dollars just to see likes. I emailed them and did not receive any response. PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY. THEY ARE PATHETIC. THATS NOT THE CHRISTIAN WAY OF DOING THINGS. SHAME ON THEM
Pretty bad datong app
Pretty bad datong app. No likes on swipes you can swipe on and on and on and on and on and no one likes back. I'm a guy so I don't get women but I would recommend going somewhere else like tawkify if your over 50 or some matchmaking company because these modern dating apps are useless and are just a lonesome pile and piece of shit that the ceos scam you and your loved ones for money or it feels that way at least lot of ghosting and lot of messages don't get sent back. Terrible.
