Took out a mortgage (home loan) with…

Took out a mortgage (home loan) with Unibank recently.
Discovered afterwards that their home loan package is actually two accounts with associated fees and charges.
Contacted them to close the "savings " account but was told this is impossible as the two accounts go together. You cannot have the mortgage account without the savings account, ridiculous behaviour.
Set up, admin, start up fees etc for both accounts neatly $1000 PLUS the ongoing yearly fee for just having the "accounts" with them !!! And yes it was in all their pages of T&Cs. Not very clear at all there would be a mandatory two accounts plus fees. Steer clear. Much better deals and banks, lenders out there.

They closed my account for buying crypto

I attempted a single transaction to buy crypto and they closed my account.

They closed my account to "protect" me. The account closure message said that "the entire Australian banking sector is at war".

BEWARE Unibank will rip you off

Worst bank I've encountered. No responsiveness, no accountability and rude staff. Staff will LIE to your face. This was my experience at the Belconnen Uni bank where the receptionist lady lying to my face and being very unhelpful with a rude attitude playing games by putting me on to some fraud officer called Leverne who was even more unhelpful and rudely talking to me and answering "no" to every request telling me I can't close my own account, like what..? Bizarre! Most unhelpful. Not interested in solving issues and retaining customers but inciting them to leave even more faster by their attitude. Like who trains/hires these people?
They will make it exceedingly difficult for you if you want to transfer anything out or close your account. They will claim forms that were filled out days ago and are same day transactions are being processed indefinitely for days on end. No accountability either as there emails are unattended and call backs are never honoured while they put you on hold for indefinite periods. BEWARE and keep away for your own good. The bank employees are taught to lie and keep stringing you along. If you want accountability, you will not find it here. SO STRESSFUL dealing with this bank and right before the holidays as well. Really negative experience for me. Cannot recommend in good conscience.

I am shocked that I have to wait for…

I am shocked that I have to wait for six months or the next month to obtain a statement. I thought UniBank was a great bank to work with, but this is absurd, and their excuse is you would have received an email of the 6 monthly statements policy.............but, what if I have not read it and acknowledged it........theyve just decided to change the frequency anyway. These banks should not be able to do this.............this is our money.

Decent bank

Decent bank. Only used it for their promotional 5% cashback which was amazing. Too bad it ended and after that I stopped using it.

Waste of time

Contacted Unibank to refinance my home loan, took two weeks of signing documentation and setting up the membership only to be notified after the credit check and servicing that they needed another 60k to fit their lending appetite. Disappointed with the amateur customer service. Mobile lender completely useless. Dont waste your time
