Rude and Obnoxious

I stupidly took a couple of loans out from this company in the past. I couldn't afford to repay one of my loans and was hounded by Debt Collectors for months however I eventually managed to pay it back.

I realised that I may have had a case in relation to an Irresponsible lending complaint and sent this off to Uncle Buck, their response was along the lines of "you should have known you couldn't pay back", they accused me of fabricating my application and tried to refer me to a Gambling Addiction site!

Anyway, my complaint has been passed to the Financial Ombudsman service to deal with so it will be interesting to see what their findings are.

I have an ongoing complaint with Uncle…

I have an ongoing complaint with Uncle Buck yet some bully external company keeps calling me and demanding money. I've had to pay money to them over the last 2 months even though I can't afford to. FOS has said whilst there is an ongoing complaint I shouldn't be required to pay anything and there should be a hold on the account until a resolution is offered. Uncle Buck please contact this company and arrange for them to stop chasing for money until you have made a decision on the complaint. They should also refund the money taken since the complaint was raised until a resolution is reached. You didn't uphold my wife's complaint yet when she took this to FOS they upheld and you were required to pay her some money back. Please review my complaint ASAP or I will have no option to also go to FOS.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. I am sorry that you are unhappy that a 3rd party company is chasing you for outstanding payments whilst your complaint is investigated. We sold your debit to a 3rd party as we had not received payments on your account and you had not engaged with us to arrange a repayment plan. As we no longer own this debt we have no control over the company contacting you for funds. We will advise them of the situation but as previously mentioned we can not stop them taking debt collection activity. Your complaint is still under investigation and once this is concluded we will send you our final response.

Helped me out when I needed it

Helped me out when I needed it. So helpful and when I missed a payment due to personal reasons they arranged to spread my missed payment over the rest of my payments. Thank you uncle buck will definitely use and recommend again.

Just admit you were wrong. You're not losing anything.

You have now received a response from the FOS and the second adjudicator agrees with the first adjudicator that you need to repay the interest plus 8%. This has been going on too long. Your reviews are getting worse each day. Something is wrong and you cannot describe yourself as a reputable lender. Get your claims in quickly. This company is in denial.

Poor service

Poor service, did not upheld.complaint gave 2 loans within weeks of each other and felt they did proper checks. I.totally disagree and I will be escalating my complaint further to the FOS. I still owe £450 its a bit silly really by what i feel UB not taking responsibility will cost them £550 when escalate my case.

Loan shark scam, don't use, avoid.High interest of nearly 300%
No check, work or credit history is done. Changed my phone and didn't realise loan has not been paid. No letter received, only found out emails from collection agencies on spam folder!

At application stage and on the loan agreement we are very transparent on how much any loan will cost, the interest rates and monthly repayments. This then allows a customer to make an informed decision. We then send by e-mail details of when each payment is due, along with reminders. When a payment is missed we do text, call and e-mail. As an online lender we do not send letters.

Sold my debt twice AVOID! Crooks.

Sold my debt twice, and reported the incorrect amount to the second company that is ILLEGAL! Interest rates are ridiculous avoid at all costs, I only got a loan here as I was desperate.

They are corrupt and now i’m In debt they are trying to take more money from me!?

Been try for month for help with my…

Been try for month for help with my account as I lost my job now going to move back to Slovakia. So tried to get some help to payit they told me they wouldn’t give me a settlement figure. I have been told that they should have frozen my interest the day I told them I couldn’t afford to pay them back. They didn’t they just kept putting charges on. Very unhelpful. Very rude also. Then they stopped email me. Don’t use please

Debt ruins lives.

Yet another rip off merchant profiting on the poor and desperate. There is no real reason why you should ever take out one of their ridiculously high interest loans. Stop and think about what you're doing, take courage to speak with your loved ones before they strip you of your hard earned money. Just remember, someone is making a fortune whilst you fall apart.

These loan sharks should all be banned and stripped of any profits!

I can assure you that we exercise responsible lending and would never rip off anyone, let alone someone who is desperate or vulnerable.

We have invested in technology to do background checks on creditworthiness, employment and income. We also rely on customer information supplied on the application.

At application stage and on the loan agreement we are very transparent on how much any loan will cost, the interest rates and monthly repayments. This then allows a customer to make an informed decision. We then send by e-mail details of when each payment is due, along with reminders.

There is lots of information on our website advising that our loans are for short term use only and shouldn't be used to manage existing debt. There is also a section covering charges etc along with a comprehensive page on the risks and benefits of our loans.

I agree that customers should speak to family or friends especially if they are experiencing debt issues to try and find help and support, we also supply details of companies who will assist for free.

Terrible company..

Terrible company... i was in a lot of trouble with payday loan companies and short term lenders. One loan taken to pay another - multiple loans at same time.. priority bills not paid - many many sleepless nights.

I Complained that this loan was miss sold and i have received a general template reply accepting no responsibility from uncle buck!!

I am disgusted at their reply!!

Off to Ombudsman next i suppose seeing as they accept no responsibility for their actions.

Reply to uncle Buck. You have lied yet again. Ross did NOT realise his mistake. I pointed it out to him!!! Also it was me who contacted him. I can prove that as you seem to need proof of EVERYTHING. (Please get your facts right before responding on here) He then panicked and quickly created a negative response as fast as he could. What a surprise! Despite me being ill had a stroke and vulnerable this disgusting company charged me £80+ interest.
I have asked repeatedly for Chief Executive's details to put this in the press but of course they are too scared to provide it. Disgraceful. Avoid at all costs. Also check your spelling before replying on here
