Absolutely fantastic house lovely touch with a bottle of prosecco and biscuits.
Plenty of room for everyone.
I'd say the only downside was the lighting outside especially when we had late comers that couldn't see properly down the drive as it was dark.
Good communication
Good communication. Great range of properties to choose from of high quality.
Helpful and amenable owner with some thoughtful touches.
We love Abby Farm house!
We love Abby Farm house! 16 of us stayed between Christmas and Newyear, when we arrived it was even better than we thought and the pictures do not do it justice.
The house was really clean, plenty of toilet roll and extra wood for the fire and they had even left us a little hamper of food and drinks! We feel after spending a long time looking for a property with lots of requirements, that Abby farm met them all and was reasonably priced compared to other houses around the country.
Whilst we were there the weather was really bad, but with amount of things to do at Abby Farm, none of the 16 of us, including 5 children, we're bored! We spent the whole 3 days playing pool, darts, ps4 and chilling in the hot tub! Communication was great too between us and the owners, loved hearing about the houses history and hope when we come back there's more to hear!
We have asked for a price to stay again next year!

I could still smell the cooking of the person who left before us. The entrance was really unkempt, customer service responds on time, that’s what the three star is for
Great stay at Abbey House
Our family group of 15 had a lovely weekend stay at Abbey House recently for my Mum in Law's 80th Birthday. The communication from UK-Breaks was great leading up to and after our visit when a forgotten pair of shoes was found and promptly posted back to their owner. We requested a late check out on the Sunday which was granted at a very reasonable cost; that extra couple of hours to allow a relaxed breakfast, tidy up and wee walk round beautiful St Bees was really worth it. There was a lovely welcome basket on arrival containing wine and chocolates. The accommodation and extensive range of entertainment facilities provided something for everyone of our wide range of ages. The pool table and hot tub were particular hits. If you are looking for a fabulous house in a super location, oozing history and character for a comfortable, relaxing and fun weekend for your group then Abbey House delivers great value for its plentiful facilities.

Great student like accommodation
Great accommodation, if you need a room and cooking facilities.
It is a shared student like type of accommodation, so can be a bit measy sometimes.
Owner not staying. Common areas cleaned weekly , except kitchen- responsibility of the tenants !
We stayed 3 weeks, any issues we had with the room was quickly resolved by manager.
Beautiful House
We were booked to stay in a property in Keswick. Renovation work was taking place and was not complete by the time of our stay, so we were offered another property in Whitehaven. This house has itself undergone some sympathetic renovation work, including the use of traditional wallpaper designs which reflect a sense of history, luxury and style.
We were greeted by a hamper of wine, chocolates and water which was a nice touch. All rooms are spacious and comfortable, with crisp, white bed linen and ample cushions and throws. However, there are not many clothes hangers in the wardrobes which is easily rectified. There are several chaise longue placed around the house which are in keeping with the age of the property. The staircases also evoke a sense of grandeur, as do the window shutters.
The kitchen is well-stocked with cutlery, crockery, glassware, cookware, utensils and appliances. However, lighting is poor - 4 dim bulbs above the table and nothing else. It would benefit from under-cupboard lighting and a brighter main light.
There are soft toys, games, books and magazines made available for use. There are also mobile stair gates which were useful for keeping our little ones safe. One aspect of safety has been overlooked and is easily rectified - the log burner in the sitting room does not have a fire guard. This prevented us from lighting the fire, for fear of our little ones being burnt.
There were plenty of toilet rolls, tissues, cleaning materials, dishwasher tablets and washing pods. The utility room housed a washing machine, a tumble dryer and a larger fridge freezer, along with mops, brushes and vacuum cleaners. The stair gates and travel cot are kept in there, too. The room leads to an outdoor hot tub and patio area which is not overlooked. You can dry off in the utility room before reentering the house which prevents a trail of water going everywhere.
Parking is a big issue. There are two dedicated garages but these were rendered useless because cars parked across them during our stay. The roads to the front and side of the house are narrow which makes turning very tight, There is an enclosed area across from the front of the house which is part of the property. Perhaps that could be converted into a dedicated parking area?
All in all this is a beautiful house and is great if you have a large number in your party. However, Whitehaven is rather a run down place with a town centre in need of regeneration. Having said that, The Beacon Museum is a great place to visit and it has a coffee shop with cakes to die for!
The house is not too far from The Lake District, though, so is a good base if you are prepared to drive to places.

Whitehaven - beautiful luxury stay
Whitehaven - beautifully decorated property with huge hot tub, each room had it's own little personality, and was tastefully decorated to fit the age of the house, the log burner was lovely, the house despite it's huge size was very warm
Hot tub is HUGE!
Really well equipped with millions of glasses plates etc.
I personally would prefer a bigger towel, but not an issue as their was plenty of towels
Bedding pillows duvets etc really good quality
We went as a girls break and it honestly felt like such a luxurious stay and an absolute treat to stay there
I don't think the pictures do it justice to how pretty it is, and the enormity!
Wonderful stay in a wonderful house
The house was lovely and really big (The Old Bull's Head in Chapel-en-le-frith). The rooms were great, what was provided was great too. Even though the weather wasn't the best (February), there was so much space in the house, the kids found plenty to do, and enjoyed the games that were there too. We were only there 2 days but would've been happy to stay longer and recommend it highly.

"A Charming Family Retreat with Endless Charm at Abbey Farm House"
Our family of six, along with our small and well-mannered dog, had the pleasure of staying at the enchanting Abbey Farm House in Cumbria for a delightful three-night getaway in early January. From the moment we stepped through the door, we were greeted by a thoughtful welcome pack brimming with treats to make our arrival more comfortable – the inclusion of milk, biscuits, and a bottle of wine was a touch of hospitality that was especially appreciated after our late Friday evening arrival.
The Abbey Farm House immediately impressed us with its abundant character and the well-preserved original features of a Grade 2 Listed building. The residence exudes a historical charm that made our stay uniquely memorable. With its eight cozy bedrooms and five well-equipped bathrooms, there was more than enough space for our family to spread out and relax
in comfort. While the entire house was remarkable, it was the expansive farmhouse-style kitchen that truly captured our hearts. There, we enjoyed preparing and sharing fabulous meals, basking in the warmth of family togetherness.
Our children were utterly delighted with the amenities. The house is a treasure trove of entertainment with a pool/snooker table, a steaming hot tub that became our sanctuary both in the brisk mornings and starlit evenings, and a grand cinema room that hosted our nightly movie marathons. The added bonus of a Playstation, an assortment of board games, and table football meant that there was never a dull moment for the little ones.
Nestled in a location that strikes a perfect balance between seclusion and convenience, Abbey Farm House offered the tranquility we desired with the assurance that adventure was never far away. The picturesque countryside and seaside walks, a mere 10 to 15 minutes away, were a breath of fresh air. Our time spent at St Bee's beach, with its captivating coastal walks, was particularly memorable.
Our explorations also took us to the vibrant Whitehaven Marina. The lighthouse stood as a beacon of the area's maritime heritage and set the scene for a pleasant evening out, where the town's array of restaurants and bars provided a delightful conclusion to our days.
In every aspect, Abbey Farm House went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable, providing all the essential amenities, from coffee and tea to washing-up necessities, fully stocked for immediate use. It's rare to find such attention to detail, but it's these little things that truly make a world of difference.
In conclusion, our stay at Abbey Farm House was nothing short of magical. It's a place where the historical charm is palpably alive, comfort is assured, and family memories are waiting to be made. We left with our hearts full and our spirits rejuvenated, carrying with us the echo of laughter from a home that felt very much like our own.
Would we recommend Abbey Farm House? Without a hesitation, yes. It's not just a house; it's an experience, a slice of tranquility, and a gateway to creating cherished family moments.
