One of the best crowd testing experiences I’ve had

What I really like about Ubertesters is how structured and professional the projects are. Test cases are clear, expectations are well defined, and there’s a real testing approach behind each cycle — which makes the work both efficient and meaningful.

I also appreciate the direct and smooth communication with project managers. They’re responsive, give useful feedback, and are genuinely involved in the process.

Finally, the hourly payment model is a big plus, especially on projects where bugs are not easy to find — it feels fair and motivating.

Overall, a very positive experience that I’d definitely recommend to serious testers.

Ubertesters pays fairly and has professional employees

Ubertesters has been great to work for. I test apps and websites for them. They treat me with respect. They send out detailed instructions on how to do their tests. They respond quickly to any questions or issues during testing. They pay me per hour rather than only based on discovering bugs. However, you can earn extra money when you discover bugs during testing. Most of the time, the tests are simple and I often retest apps to check on improvements or fixes to bugs and get paid again.
I tested fo them when I lived in South Korea and have moved back to the US and continued testing for them here.

Uber for Testers

Been testing with the platform for about 6 months now, projects have been smooth so far. Instructions for tasks are clearly communicated, payments are always on time. Having the flexibility to accept or decline task is very helpful with my busy schedule. My only regret is not signing up when I initially heard about the platform.

Less then minimum pay per hour in region county

- Less then minimum pay per hour in country of residence
- many ASAP project with a few hours deadline and low pay, not covering the time notherless the urgency
- difficult management, spam email, after 2-3 hours of no contact writes follow ups even if there is a lot of time until the deadline
- communication are too much and with no meaningful discussion, for a 1h project there are even 10 emails that do no count for payment time

Hi, thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry your experience didn’t meet expectations.

Most of our projects are paid hourly, with some fixed-rate assignments depending on the client and project type. And in all cases, we pay well above the minimum rate in each country. If, for some reason, this wasn’t reflected in your case, please contact our community team, and we’ll make it right.
We always aim to make payment terms and deadlines clear upfront so testers can decide what works for them.

Regarding communication and follow-ups, our project managers stay close to ensure deadlines are met, but we’re reviewing how to make updates more meaningful and less frequent.

We genuinely appreciate your feedback. It helps us refine how we support our global tester community. You can reach us anytime at support@ubertesters.com to discuss your experience further.

Happy testing.

Be cautious about payment methods

Important Information About Payment Methods at UberTesters

If you plan to do testing tasks for UberTesters, pay close attention to payment methods. The website lists three options:

1. Upwork
2. PayPal
3. Other

In case you select Upwork as payment method

You must receive an offer or contract via Upwork; otherwise, payment won't be processed.

Be aware of risks with Upwork itself - many users report account suspension after money arrives or during identity verification. This can result in "paid" funds by Ubertesters, but you can't access it and withdraw from Upwork to your bank account. No refund is provided for any intermediate expenses you bear while using this method.

High fees apply: roughly 10% of your payment goes to service fees, VAT, and bank transfers. New accounts may require paid identity verification, which also carries a risk of account blockages with no refunds. Overall in case you are paid by Ubertesters, for example, 40 usd, Upwpork will deduct VAT, service commission and transfer fee and you receive only 34 usd. Ubertesters does not cover those commissions. For account verification you may need to pay extra 6 usd. Without it you will not be able to withdraw funds.

If you select PayPal as payment method

Safer than Upwork, but all fees are your responsibility. UberTesters does not cover them.

Bottom line: Always check the payment method carefully and consider potential fees and risks before starting.

Thank you for taking the time to outline your experience. It’s important for us that testers understand how payments work, so I appreciate the chance to clarify a few points for the community.

We offer multiple payment options because testers around the world have different preferences and restrictions. Each platform has its own policies and fees, and those are set by the payment provider, not by us. We always state these options upfront so testers can choose what works best for them.

For Upwork specifically, a formal contract is required because Upwork only allows payments through their system. We understand that Upwork’s verification process and fees can be frustrating for some users, which is why many testers prefer PayPal or other alternatives. Regardless of the method you select, your payment from Ubertesters is always released on our side in full and on time.

We don’t cover third-party commissions or platform fees simply because they vary widely by country and provider. That said, if you ever have an issue with a missing or delayed payment from our end, our community team will step in and help resolve it quickly.

We value transparency, and we’re always available to guide testers in choosing the payment option that fits them best. If you’d like us to look into your individual case, please reach out to support@ubertesters.com and we’ll help.

Happy testing.

Unacceptable project mnagers

not a good project manager, instead of helping the freelancers to earn, he will reduce the time and the rate to be paid, will ask you to use your money for testing, but he will make a refund without shouldering the paypal fees, so you will not get the whole price that you used for testing.

Thank you for sharing this. I’m sorry to hear that your interaction with our project team left you with this impression, because it doesn’t reflect how we operate.

When testers are asked to use their own funds for a test scenario, we always refund the full net amount that was spent out of pocket. There are no deductions, no commissions, and no third-party fees taken from that reimbursement. If anything different happened in your case, please contact our community team so we can address it immediately.

Regarding time tracking and rates, our project managers follow clear guidelines to make sure the hours approved match the actual scope of the assignment. Their role is to support testers, not to reduce earnings, and we take any feedback on this seriously.

We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. If you’re open to it, please reach out to support@ubertesters.com so we can review your specific project and resolve this properly.

Happy testing.
