Disappointing Product and Deceptive Refund Policy

As a first-time customer, I was really excited to try Twisted Dough — but unfortunately, the experience left a lot to be desired, from the product itself to how my complaint was handled.

The protein "dough" had a terrible taste and texture. My partner and I both tried it, and neither of us could stomach it. For the price, I expected much better quality.

When I reached out for a refund, I was denied and pointed to their "Strict NO refund and NO return" policy — which I had never seen. I had to hunt for it after the fact; it was not presented to me clearly at checkout or anywhere visible during the ordering process.

Even more frustrating, their policy specifically lists taste and texture as reasons they will not issue a refund. That information should be front and center before a customer places an order, not buried where no one will find it.

I've ordered from other protein and supplement companies that stand behind their products with full refunds when a customer is unsatisfied. So, the "food items can't be refunded" excuse simply doesn't hold up as an industry standard.

I allowed them to make it right privately before leaving this review, but they declined. Save yourself the money (and your taste buds) and shop somewhere that values its customers, especially first-timers.

I wish I had read the reviews before…

I wish I had read the reviews before ordering. WAY overpriced. The taste is awful- it tastes like a gooey, oozy version of all of the worst chalky protein grossness that is available. The website is not easy to navigate. The “free” items are misleading. And the newsletter page doesn’t work. Don’t waste your money!

5 Jar Review

I recently ordered 5 different jars, including 4 normal protein doughs and 1 pudding. UPS marked the order as delivered but didn’t get the package and reached out to Savannah who was very helpful and replaced my order quickly. The value is great because it’s a thicker texture preventing me from wanting to eat a lot but also guilt free with the macros. I loved the majority of them (other than PB&J but that’s for texture reasons). I think it’s definitely worth it if you have a sweet tooth and want to get rid of that craving with something that has been nutrients and higher protein. Thank you so much Savanah!

Placed an order on 1/2/2025 as of…

Placed an order on 1/2/2025 as of 1/9/2025 my order still hasn't left their facility. I have emailed numerous times with no response. This was my first order and will certainly be my last. if I could rate them a negative number they would get a negative rating. Don't fall for this comany.

If I could give this negative ratings, I WOULD

I placed an order for a 5 pack and it arrive warm and wet, despite all product saying right on it that it requires refrigeration. The product is nothing like "dough" or "cookie dough", they will get defensive and say "well it's a protein dough", whatever that means. The texture is that of old glue - very goopey, pastey, stretchy and yet thin. It's texture alone is concerning. The "add ins" become a soggy mess because they are sitting in this gloopey mess. The taste is SO chemical and artificial in nature, again, it is concerning what exactly is used in the ingredients. I tried every flavor and they were all so awful tasting. I also had my family members try them to make sure it wasn't just me, and they all agreed. I contacted customer service asking for a refund, and that I was even willing to ship the product back but otherwise it was going to end up in the trash. Rather than an email back, the customer service rep insisted on calling me. During the call she first asked "Did you stir the product because that can affect the taste"; I told her yes I had. Then she claimed they were just getting ready to launch all new packaging and even product ingredients to "improve the taste and texture" and asked if she could send me new product to try. I agreed, and while the packaging for the new product is cuter, the product still arrived very warm, same awful texture, same terrible taste. When I reached out again to customer service asking again for a refund, I was told "We do not refund based on taste and of course we are not "cookie dough" we are protein cookie dough. We wanted to make sure you had our new formula for sure and we do appreciate you trying it but know our product is not for you." When I stated that this was highly dissapointing and that I have never experienced a company unwilling to refund a product that did not live up to expectations, she stated "We stand by our service and the product arrived how it is supposed to. But as this email was previously sent it now requires a phone call. I am happy to take a phone call and go over things with you but at this time per my protocol a phone call is required." I'm sorry what?? Because an email was sent previously "protocol" requires a phone call?? A phone call for what exactly? And what "protocol" are we following exactly that is never mentioned to the customer? I am quite confused and honestly taken back at this process this company has in place. I had already gone back and forth with them numerous times via email, text and phone calls. This process feels very put in place because this company gets a lot of unhappy customers, I know from doing heavy research already online. My experience is the same as many others as well. Warm product that has the texture of glue, with customer service unwilling to refund the product. A company that cannot stand by their product enough to offer a refund just shows how often this is happening and how little confidence they have in their own product. I am looking forward to continuing to spread and share my review and experience everywhere I can. I am clearly not the first, and this company will not survive functioning like this. Literally the WORST customer service experience, and the most suspicious and confusing experience, I have ever encountered.

Refused to cancel order less than 10 minutes after it was placed

Emailed them within 10 minutes of accidentally placing an order (because they "pay now" button was literally right next to "apply discount code"). Got a "response" that was literally just copy-pasted saying they won't cancel it because checkout is "a multi step process to eliminate accidental orders". Maybe they should move the pay now button.
