I won't respond to Darren directly here, but to anyone reading this review, of course there are two sides to every story. We had a bad leak from the property upstairs, which we immediately fixed and even offered to house Darren and his XL Bully while we sorted it, which he declined. I also agreed to release him from his fixed term contract without penalty or consequences, but he decided he wanted to stay living there. All issues with the damp and related issues were fixed instantly, including building works, new carpets, paintwork and so on. There were indeed omissions from the required Selective Licensing standards and with help from the Environmental Standards officer at the council, we fixed these immediately as well and the officer was happy to sign off the works. However, Darren directed his frustrations towards me personally, (e.g. the language shown in his review above, saying he has friends where I live & to watch my back, threatening to beat me up multiple times), culminating in him assaulting me outside the flat, for which I had to call the police on two occasions, (nearly three, when he verbally abused a colleague of mine, leaving her shaken and in floods of tears). We evicted Darren which is why the flat went back on the market. The flat is in fact in a lot better condition than the photos on the advert, which were taken before Darren moved in. I decided not to press charges only because Darren was trying hard to get his life back on track and I had a good relationship with his support worker. Darren did pay his rent on time every month and left the flat in a good condition, so we refunded his deposit in full and I wish him and his dog all the best in their new home.
