i can confirm this is a scam. No tutors. No way to contact the company for a refund. The bank was not able to help. Stay away!
This is about tutorhub.ie. I paid the 20 euro fee for 14 days access and to enable me to contact tutors. I emailed 20 tutors and no one got back to me which makes me wonder if this is a scam. The fact that no one got back to me was strange because I added my request to another website, FirstTutors and loads of people got back to me. tutorhub.ie is a total waste of money.
Was in urgent need of getting Maths support for my son as it is difficult to find a good GCSE tutor these days. Was elated to run across the tutorhub but turned into me canceling work meetings to talk to their representative (will withhold her name) who promised to get back to me. After a week of not hearing back from her, I decided to call again, remind her who I was and get the response that 'oh I passed your number on to the tutor, have they not contacted you yet'? Upon my reply of 'no', the response was to give me his number to chase him up which is not something I would expect being that I spoke to him first (and) was passed to her.
I have been looking for a tutor for sometime to help me with my dissertation. Finding a tutor was straightforward - I contacted four, of which three replied within 24 hours. There is a bit of set up to do to configure your computer for the video lessons, and they recommend that you use Chrome, but it took me a couple of minutes to do it. The lesson went well, no technical glitches. Organised a few more lessons. Happy to recommend it.
I used the site to look for an Anthropology tutor. I pretty much found someone straight away, fixed a time to chat with the tutor and it all went according to plan. I should say that I am an adult learner, but no problems to report and I was delighted with the knowledge and skill levels of the tutor I used.
