My son has been having GCSE English tuition with Alex R for a few weeks now. Alex is kind, patient and explains work well. He makes lessons fun and engaging and I'm positive the extra tuition will result in a good GCSE pass. I would highly recommend him.

Easy to navigate and clear signposting
The website was easy to navigate and the qualifications of the teachers were clearly set out. This made it easy for us to find the appropriate tutor and we have been lucky to have found a good tutor.

We have a great tutor who is tailoring…
We have a great tutor who is tailoring the lessons to where my son needs the help. We had a video chat before to see how we got on before confirming lessons, went through key areas of concern and lessons were structured around weaker areas. Homework is also given each week, a video to look back on the lesson, and being able to reach out to the tutor via the chat thread ensures perfect communication. I am really impressed with Tutorful and would highly recommend.

Complete graveyard of opportunity
Applications to be a tutor can only be done through the app, including the writing of paragraphs of several hundred/thousand characters. Completely impractical when the service has a website and is best accessed on a computer. Data harvesting?
Very, very, few potential clients that you can apply to teach, usually none per day. And you can't get notifications when one is available, so you have to keep going in and out the app all day like a phone addict.
The very few job offers I've even seen have probably been fake (very unusual names and descriptions). They have also included 1. Somebody saying in the offer that it was a test and not a real offer, 2. Somebody using the tag "French" to ask for a tutor for Arabic, and 3. Someone asking for a freelance translator for a book, which is not only not asking for a tutor, but also a notorious phishing scam.

Regarding lesson opportunities, demand can vary significantly depending on subject, availability, and time of year. While many tutors receive regular enquiries, we recognise this hasn’t been your experience and understand how disappointing that can feel. "Tags" can also be used to indicate a students profile but may not necessarily pertain directly to a lesson request. While French and Arabic are not directly related linguistically, it is a known common language in Northern African countries and would not be deemed unusual or untrustworthy.
We take safety and authenticity very seriously. All student requests are monitored, and reports of suspicious or inappropriate listings are investigated promptly. If you ever come across an offer that seems incorrect or concerning, our support team is always happy to review it.
We genuinely value feedback like yours as it helps us identify areas where we can do better. If you’d be open to discussing your experience further, please feel free to contact our support team directly so we can look into this with you.

Brilliant
We’re 5 lessons in and my son is totally understanding what Oliver is teaching him. He hasn’t once complained about the lessons or been negative in any way. Fingers crossed over the next couple of months the lessons will really assist my son in preparing him for his GCSE’s.

I had a small issue during the sign-up process, but the support I received from Tutorful was excellent. Evie from the support team was incredibly kind, patient, and professional throughout the whole process. Nice enough platform but expensive
Worked as a tutor and missed a policy change about communication and was instantly, no opportunity to explain myself, banned from new clients. I got £30 per hour and they charged clients £47. The platform has some helpful things but I obviously won't be working for them again.

Excellent tutor
Lila has been tutoring A level Chemistry for my daughter, who is feeling so much more confident than she did before. Lila not only teaches the curriculum but goes into more depth that isn’t covered in the course to give a full and clear picture. My daughter has found the use of diagrams hugely helpful, and is benefiting from being allowed to work through questions herself. Arranging lessons has been very easy and Lila has responded quickly to any questions. I would highly recommend Lila to anyone needing tutoring in Chemistry at any level.

Amazing English tutor
We found a fabulous English teacher, Rachel C, who was really friendly, bubbly and enthusiastic, which immediately put our daughter at ease. Rachel was very knowledgeable about the texts, as well as the GCSE AQA exam syllabus and marks. She helped our daughter feel so much more confident about her English exams this year.

Great Tutor who is very responsive
We have found a really great Tutor who is very responsive and has connected well with our child. She has taken on suggestions and has asked for more information about how my child is doing in their studies to create a program that works specifically for her needs.
