Have worked with these folks for many…

Have worked with these folks for many years. They do a nice job of being helpful and making sure the vintage gear they sell works perfectly. I recently asked for them to switch the power from EU to USA for an item I purchased and they did it free of charge per my request.

The item I bought came exactly as described in the appropriate amount of time.

Very Poor Customer Service

Just wanted to share a little frustration on my end as a customer, in regard to a synth that was purchased from TurbLab on Reverb. Firstly, the item shipped a week after the date provided, which I knew there was holiday delay which they mentioned, but it still never shipped after that until I inquired. They said after a specific date it would ship, and one week passed since that date mentioned which was already delayed due to the holidays which I understand.

Secondly, I had to pay around $256 in additional shipping charges + broker fee to receive the item, which made it way more expensive than purchasing in the states. I let that aside as it is what it is.

The most frustrating is with the power cable I received, as it is not for US sockets. No adapters were received in the package and no heads-up was provided that I would need to purchase adapters or a new power cable. Very dissatisfied as a buyer from Turnlab.

Received a response from TurnLab after I shared with them my frustration as a customer; no care was made to actually listen to my message as they responded without caring about me as a customer but with short simple responses that solved nothing; no customer service.

Just sharing an honest review so people can make a decision before purchasing from TurnLab. In summary, they are not transparent and don’t care about you as a customer. I hope there customer support improves.

Hi. You're ordering from the US in a European shop. What do you expect?

Your order shipped EXACTLY when mentioned. You were well aware of these delays due to Christmas, like you actually confirm here yourself.

You complain about tariffs, while you were well aware that these would be charged. You've bought from us via Reverb.com, and they make you tick a box at checkout that makes you aware that these fees would be applied since you were ordering from another continent.
How much more clear can it be made?
Also, the US charging tariffs is NOT our fault nor responsibility.

Secondly: you buy a European made product, again, from a European shop. Obviously we use other wall sockets. Again, this was mentioned in the listing itself. You just need a standard C13 power cable that is sold in any DIY/electrical store to make your machine work. You propably have one in your house even: it's one of the most common electrical cables.
The voltage isn't even an issue as the machine takes both 110 and 220 volts.
Why don't you just buy it local then, if even that is to hard to do?

About our response: I basically wrote the same as above, but at that point still nicer indeed. You didn't reply anymore, and just went out to review on Trustpilot. As if that is a solution...?

Maybe have a conversation with us instead of throwing mud without thinking first, and look into the mirror to see that actually everything you complain about here is due to yourself and your own ignorance!

They consider you as their Cash Cow

If something go wrong with them since they sell alot of non-working stuffs you are stuck. They are not here to help you just to take your money and bye. They are very agressive and charge a lot and are not afraid to sell defective units most of the Time with innaccurate description and missing parts of all kind like power supply and so on. So then you Will enter a game full of maliciois behaviour and attempt of manipulation to make it clear that you are a dumb customer even you have 20years experience in dealing with honest ‘normal ? ´ people. They will lie in their description and sell inopérant material on daily basis to suit their thirst of cash flow. It seems also that the main boss has also a temper of his own.
If you used Reverb with them you have a little chance to survive if not good luck…

Hi. About which order is this? We sell stuff that’s serviced/checked, with warranty. If we sell something ‘as is’, with parts missing or things not working, this is CLEARLY mentioned at purchase. You might have overlooked that? Maybe just send us a message, as it’s not clear, based on your name here, what this is about, and we can discuss it and work it out.
Also, if you bought from us via Reverb, they ALSO judge over situations in case something goes wrong and assist both the buyer and seller. So apart from us being able to refund you for something for example, in case warranty/retour is offered, they also give a double back up/protection.
Thanks
Maks

I had an awful experience with this…

I had an awful experience with this seller and wouldn't recommend buying from them.

Would you trust a seller who took three weeks to change the status of the shipment, delivered a damaged unit, tried to minimise the problem, and refused to pay for the return shipping?

Firstly, the product took a month to arrive. Two days after the purchase, the shipment was created, but then it took three weeks for the status to change. Despite asking them several times, they always said it was just a delay and that the shipment had left their facilities. However, the tracking information clearly showed that the shipment had not yet reached the transport company.

After this long month, when the product finally arrived, we tested it and realised that something was wrong. We reported it and they denied it, asking us for a video of the fault. After sending the video, they told us that this was normal and that it wasn't broken. We then sent them a video of another unit without the problem so they could see the difference, but they responded that they didn't consider it an important issue and that we could file a warranty claim with the manufacturer, although this would be complicated. We sent the same video to Buchla and reported the same problem, and they responded by asking for the details to activate the warranty in just a few emails.

After these two incidents, having lost all confidence in the seller, we asked them for a return. We did this through Reverb, but they never responded to the request. They sent us a link to a webpage via private message to make it clear that they would not pay the shipping costs.

Hi Ismael,

It seems like you are making up your own story here,

We had a delay in shipping indeed so we take full accountability for that. Sometimes new stock gets delayed. It happens. You were informed about that.

We never denied that there was a problem, we were trying to find the most optimised solution and I passed questions from both the supplier and from Buchla themselves to see if we could solve the issue from a distance. Asking for a video of the issue is not denying that there is a problem. It is confirming it and asking for documentation.

We also confirmed that we would absolutely accept the unit for repair whenever needed. We tried to be as friendly and constructive as possible but Instead of following through, you asked for 'an immediate refund' because 'you did not like our answers' after which i replied that we could only refund you when the unit is back to us and I referred you to the shipping & return policies on our website.

I am sorry you are dissatisfied with our service but I think you took more offense in our conversation because of prejudice then needed.

Great service and good communication!

Turnlab bought my Korg Prologue 16 on an online marketplace, offering me an amazing deal and include the MicroKorg 2 as part of it. They did everything they promised and are even sending me a new power adapter after we figured out that the one that came from Korg factory was malfunctioning. So amazing service and also a quick communication! Would highly recommend checking out their second hand gear as well, great and diverse collection.
