My first experience with Turbotenant

Turbotenant helped me get my rental information to the general public. They are easy to work with, helpful staff and offer various ways to promote your property. I recommend them and would surly use them again

Renter Beware

Renter Beware! I responded to a rental listing and was forwarded to turbotenant.com to submit my application. They charge you $40 non-refundable and it doesn't matter if the landlord's listing is real, available, alive, responsive, under no circumstances will they refund your money. After my report was supposedly delivered, I called, emailed, etc. for 5 days straight and did not receive any response form the landlord. I told TurboTenant to charge the landlord. Clearly they have an account with them. TurboTenant said, no, we incure charges we can't recoup when we run a check on you. So! I'm fine if I get any response or a rejection from the Landlord, but if they are AWOL then charge them, NOT me. You could get go through many many applications without ever hearing from a landlord. That is ridiculous. Don't support this company. Find somewhere to live that doesn't use them.

TurboTenant provides the software platform landlords use to market properties and collect applications, but we’re not able to control a landlord’s individual response times or leasing decisions. We do clearly disclose during the application process that screening fees are non-refundable once submitted.

That said, we never want someone to walk away feeling unheard, and we’d appreciate the opportunity to connect with you directly and review your experience further. Please keep an eye out for an email from our team!

Great but not as good as Apple customer service.

Explanations and help were great and it was straight forward and fairly easy to use even by someone who is tech challenged. The reason I did not give you 5 stars was that I was unable to talk to a real, live customer service representative like I can with Apple Customer Service.

Excellent Platform for Independent Landlords & Creative Rental Marketing

TurboTenant has been a very smooth and effective platform for us at ProspeRun while helping market and manage rental opportunities. OFF TO A FRUSTRATING START WITH TT - SPAMS and strange inquiries

Set up and bank linking (as landlord) was simple, and it is free (for the basic version) but I was inundated with DOZENS of SPAM calls as soon as I joined, which was surprising and very disappointing. I would have much rather paid another service and not had the time wasted for each of those calls.

Also, they are sitting on our first check (it was paid to us on the 1st of the month - it is now the 16th), collecting interest on it, and I had to answer calls from this in order for it to be released. Of course, their call was intertwined with the dozens of SPAM calls I was receiving. When I finally called them back, the rep told me they were curious about the name of the tenant and if we were related. I will be searching for a new service. Check held for two weeks until I called their customer service rep and explained the tenant's name? This almost feels like discrimination.

Avoid cost of management company

Used to use a management company that took a big chunch of the rent and did very little once the tenant was found except collect and deposit the rent. I usually had to compare price of repairs myself to avoid their “experts”. Turbo tenant lets tenants know when rent is due and when they are late. Rent is deposited for you. I was able to screen and find my own tenant saving me a months rent commission to the management company. I only rent out one home but this totally works for me. Their support is great. They even provided video explanations and follow up emails.

Bank account linking problems

During the signup process, there was an error while linking my bank account, which meant my only option for paying my deposit was through my credit card with TurboTenant's 3.49% processing fee. To avoid this I had to manually exit the signup process after creating a username and password, then log back in to finally link my bank account without issue. How many people won't get that far and end up paying an unnecessary fee due to a broken linking process?

Then I set my rent on autopay, but when the bank connection expired I didn't even get any notifications from TurboTenant, which made me miss two payments. My landlord was chill about it and gave me time to fix the issue, but other renters won't be so lucky.

I was extremely impressed with all the quality responses that I received very quickly as well as all the services that you offered to complete the rental. Just a great experience that I would recommend to anyone interested in renting any type of living quarters.
