Buckle up, this is a long one.
I do not leave negative reviews as I don’t know that they do anything, but I have been so thoroughly put off by this experience at every turn. We’ve been engaged with trugreen for a while and all services are cancelled now. We used them for lawn weed killing for a long while and while I noticed the crab grass, spurge, and every other kind of weed were not going away but rapidly multiplying I figured it still helped. I work over 100 hrs a week as a caregiver and 20+ hours a week at a regular job. I am only paid for my regular job. All of my spending money goes into my garden. Gardening and plants is my true passion but with how much I work I am typically too wiped out to weed more than an hour each week. So, we engaged Trugreen to spray for weeds in the beds in my yard.
Earlier this year I ordered some specialty flowers online to make bouquets with and planted in my yard. This included statice plants, Billy button, and a few others. These were small plants that were clearly planted in cleared ground with mulch pushed back. Four of the statice plants were dead after the first visit, and a small plant I had been nurturing for several years called Dwarf Mormon Tea. I was upset but I let any further action slip my mind as I work a *lot*.
After the next visit, 80% of my huge rosemary bush, about a dozen zinnias that were not yet flowering, one more statice plants, my billy button, and worst of all, my native showy milkweed that I planted for monarchs were dead. Several more plants including my babies breath were hit with weed killer but not totally dead. The babies breath is now 100% dead. I SOBBED when I saw this. There were also neon green footprints in my lawn I’m assuming from weed killer on their boots.
Not to mention, the vast majority of the weeds were untouched!
We placed a complaint, trugreen corporate said they would send out a local rep. The local rep came out the following week and said a trainer and trainee had come to my house. I commented that I was home during both visits. I comment that atatice does look a bit like it could be a weed, but I didn’t think it’s unreasonable for someone to knock on my door and ask “hey some of these are kinda funky, what should we not spray?” Or with the zinnias, I didn’t think it was unreasonable to compare flowering and not yet flowering plants and conclude they are the same thing and not weeds. The manager was very kind, agreed with me, and said he would call me back and “make things right.” Neither myself nor the other person on the account got any calls. And I’m not going to call back to remind someone to do the right thing, especially the second time around.
We noticed the crab grass was growing especially bad last week and told the company that if the weeds weren’t dead we were cancelling. The following $77 service was free because of that but guess what. None of the weeds are dead. None of them. I found a crabgrass growing out of one of my sprinklers. feels a bit poetic.
-10/10. This has been a huge mistake and has cost me a huge amount of time and money.

I paid for an annual service but needed them to keep spraying for a few more months. Bottom line? My lawn is greener than when we started, but it's now about 70% WEEDS!!!

My lawn looks an absolute mess. I have a Ring door bell on my front and back door. The technician came out sprayed the front yard, got back in the truck and left. Hedidnt go to the back yard or the sideof the yard and I am watching him on the Ring door bell. I dont know what I am paying for but my yard looks a hot mess. I get it cut one day and 2 days later , I have a yard full of weeds. i really need to hire a lawyer.

This company is the worst. I prepaid in July 2025 for annual services. Received email for new year and replied to the the only email link they provided for customer support and clearly stated not to continue service . They sprayed without approval and sent me a bill. Do not trust this company they will automatically renew without your written or verbal consent. NOTHING BUT A MONEY GRAB. If, I have to pay this bill I ensure in every social media account I can sign up for will know my experience.

I have been using TruGreen's services for 2 years now and my lawn went from having tons of weeds with the prior service provider to looking gorgeous, green and free of weeds. I also use the tree & shrub service and mosquito treatment and get great results. Thank you, TruGreen!

First of all, I want to say thank you to the young man Trevon Brown. He came out twice to my home in one day, the first time we were not home, I was quite upset because we are loosing 2 of our evergreen bushes due to the drought. Trevon went out of his way to take time and give me tips and pointers on how to better care for my bushes and trees. He was respectful, kind and thorough, the only technician who went out of his way to help and give recommendations, and I am very grateful!

I am extremely disappointed with TruGreen and would not recommend them based on my experience.
The biggest issue was with their mosquito service technician. During his first visit, he was completely careless with my property. I complained and was assured that he would never be sent to my home again. Despite that promise, TruGreen sent the exact same technician back, and once again, the quality of his work was unacceptable.
To make matters worse, it took numerous calls and emails before anyone finally responded to my complaints, and even then, I never received a satisfactory explanation.
Because of the poor service and lack of accountability, I requested to cancel my mosquito service. TruGreen only refunded me for one month, even though I believe I should have been refunded for at least three months based on the circumstances. I'm still disputing the remaining refund. They eventually issued an additional partial credit, but it was still nowhere near what they should have refunded.
Dealing with their customer service was frustrating. A few representatives were helpful and professional, but many others seemed to lack the knowledge or authority to resolve even straightforward issues.
In the end, I canceled all of my TruGreen services and hired a local company instead. Hopefully, that experience will be much better.
My advice: save yourself the frustration and stay away from TruGreen.

I had a great experience with my TruGreen specialist. John Fox was professional and knowledgeable. He arrived on time, aerated and seeded my lawn with care, and provided helpful recommendations for keeping it healthy between visits. It's clear he takes pride in his work, and I appreciate the excellent customer service. I'm very satisfied with the experience and look forward to seeing my lawn continue to improve. Highly recommend!

2025: large chemical spill occurred on my driveway, was not cleaned by TruGreen. Service terminated by me. I was contacted by TG again in June 2026 and asked for "another chance" to earn my business.
July 1: TruGreen representative shows up at my home. I was expecting a female employee, and this man did not appear to represent TruGreen, so I did not answer the door for my own safety. Later that day, I received a call from this man stating that he inspected my yard and had a service plan in mind. Cameras on my property showed that he did not inspect the property, and he later admitted that he lied about doing the inspection but reassured me the service would address the issues.
July 10: fertilizer sprayed at my property, including all over my concrete driveway. I contacted salesperson with concern about safety of the fertilizer on the driveway (I have kids and a dog) and he did not respond for 3 days. When he did respond, he said fertilizer is not dangerous to kids or dogs (untrue, it is very dangerous).
July 13: contacted the owner to discuss salesperson’s lack of communication and untrue claims of safety. Owner agreed to come to the property on July 16 to inspect. On July 16, I requested we reschedule due to thick smoke and dangerous air quality. We rescheduled to July 23.
July 23: No communication from owner, and after I reached out, he stated he would arrive after 2pm. Owner did not show up at all on the 23rd. Property is still covered in weeds.
July 24: I sent photos to owner asking about treatment, why the product didn't work and why my property wasn't fully sprayed. No response. I spoke to TruGreen customer service who set a re-spray appointment for Monday, July 27. Owner sends long message about how he's so busy and working long hours. Confirms re-spray appt for July 27.
July 27: No time/update from TruGreen, so I reach out to owner and he says he doesn't know when they will arrive. I contact TruGreen customer service who says NO re-spray is scheduled, despite my scheduling this on Friday the 24th.
Update: man representing himself as the “owner” is not an actual owner.

I own a property in Cheshire, and over the course of 10 years, TruGreen contacted me repeatedly, trying to earn my business. Eventually, I decided to give them a chance.
At the time, my lawn had a few weeds, but overall it was in decent condition. After just one year of TruGreen's service, my lawn was completely destroyed. The grass died, leaving dry, dead patches that even attracted snakes hiding in the dead grass—something I had never experienced before.
I contacted TruGreen several times to report the problem. They sent technicians out on multiple occasions, promising to fix the lawn, but nothing they did made any difference. The condition of my yard continued to get worse.
It became so bad that my neighbors started joking about it, saying, "We don't even use a lawn service, and our lawn looks 100 times better than yours."
Based on my experience, TruGreen made promises they never delivered on. I trusted them to improve my lawn, but instead, it ended up in far worse condition than when they started. I cannot recommend their service.

Terrible service. EVERYTHING the website states has never happened. You cannot speak to a manager, nor will they come out to inspect the shoddy workmanship. This company truly doesn’t care.
beware!!!!

Sales people are like Pitbulls once you call they do not let you go. I was told I would get what we discussed and agree in writing, I was told someone will called to set appointment. Neither happened. My husband was cutting grass and TruGreen showed up to fertilize. We told them no that after cutting grass we should not fertilize for 24 48 hours they showed up again two hours later (they had a quota to meet). I have been trying to contact the Vero Beach office but it keeps directing me to the 800 number.I want to speak to a Manager today.

I had been a customer for 2 yrs, asked to have an additional area treated. The rep and I talked, confirmed area and price. When it was time for the treatment, the additional area wasn’t treated, but I was charged the extra amount. There was no conversation or explanation of why. When I contacted customer service, I was told that the new area wasn’t treated because it was too much for the price I was quoted. They wanted 2 1/2 times the quoted price, I should have been contacted, but wasn’t. I had the area treated 3 times before at the price I was quoted, but not this time. Terrible customer service- basically they wanted 1000$ for about a 45 min procedure. Ridiculous

Left a review on TruGreen's Google page outlining the poor experience and service I received. Was told to email their review email address to reconcile the situation. 5 days later, no response of any kind.

If I could give TruGreen negative stars, I would.
We signed up because we were promised a “golf course” lawn by their sales team. Instead, our lawn has only gotten worse. We now have large brown patches, and some type of insect problem has spread across the yard. There has been absolutely no improvement despite paying for their services.
The biggest issue is reliability. On three separate occasions, we received notifications that our lawn service had been completed, yet no one ever showed up at our property. If we hadn’t been keeping track ourselves, we would have been charged for services that were never performed. That is completely unacceptable.
Customer service has been just as disappointing. Before we signed up, they called and followed up multiple times, assuring us they were lawn care specialists and that they would take great care of our yard. Once they had our business, everything changed. Calls go unanswered, text messages are ignored, and getting any meaningful help has been nearly impossible.
This has been one of the worst service experiences we’ve had. We paid for professional lawn care and received poor results, missed service visits, and terrible customer support. I would not recommend TruGreen to anyone.

Typical subscription service. Easy to sign up but very difficult to cancel.
Why cancel?
Because after a year of of their service there was 0 noticeable difference in the quality of my lawn.

This company is terrible. aerating In the middle of the summer ripping up my lawn and charging me $300 gave me one day heads up that they were coming and I missed the call They try to make up for it by saying they'll come back in September and knocking off $20 These guys are terrible

Inconsistent “service”. They do not show up when scheduled, and do a half ass job when they do actually show up. I have more weeds now than I have in the past by doing the job myself. Don’t waste your money!

I just want to rate the person that takes care of our lawn from TruGreen by the name of Titus Myers. He has to be the best employee they have. If not, he should be. He's just amazing!! He comes to us each time with a smile on his face. No matter what the weather is like. He does an amazing job. So much pride in what he does. I've told them.....do what you have to do in order to keep him. If he leaves....we leave!!! Thank you Titus for all you do to keep our lawn like it is. We so appreciate you!!
